  1. HI Guys! So sorry I can't keep up with all the posts as you guys move so fast with it! Do you check this thread on your iphone (if so, how do you reply as I can't get it to work AND my job filters the internet so I can't see any photos so its my phone or once a day at night). Well, I was hoping to up the photo count of this thread seen as its in the photo thread... Please meet Fysher! He's Asti's baby (not smaller) brother! He's 12months old and joined our household on Saturday. He loves toys that make noise - especially squeakers, and has subsequently broken all of Asti's toys she has had for the last 2 years (she's so gentle with them that they look like new!). He loves swimming in his clam pool and chasing lizards and ants in the garden... actually he'll do that all day if I let him. He was supposed to be a show dog but it didn't turn out, this means he's been through all the training and walks so well on the lead - we're hoping he can give Asti some tips! He also comes to his name and is very attentive! He's a bit of a wilting flower if you look at him the wrong way or raise your voice (not even at him) he'll shy away like he's in trouble - we need to toughen him up! Asti's a little put out at the moment, and it makes me sad , I have no idea how people have two kids! how do you share the love? I suppose Asti will always have a special part of me as she was my first dog (as I wasn't supposed to have one because i'm allergic to almost all other breads other than frenchies and pugs!). Fysher is the perfect companion for fiesty Asti and as they slept together in the same bed last night for about 4 hours, so I think he's growing on her! This is Fysher: Froggy Doggy Fysher has discovered Asti toy box! and sat in it! and crazy eyes! Asti photo-bombing! I smell chicken! and one of my princess Asti. I call this one "Asti in the headlights"
  2. I'm getting in early this week as I almost forgot last weeks! Week 13/52 of Asti 2011 by samanthasallaway, on Flickr
  3. Week 12 already! Great photo Gila! I've tried to do a white background before and failed miserably! Week 12/52 of Asti 2011 by samanthasallaway, on Flickr
  4. This week was Asti and her mate Baxter (partly photo bombing, partly posed!) Week 10/52 of Asti 2011 by samanthasallaway, on Flickr
  5. When I saw Asti sitting on the bath mat watching me straighten my hair I realised it was this week's photo Week 10/52 of Asti 2011 by samanthasallaway, on Flickr
  6. I have totally missed this thread!!! I've subscribed to the updates so hope to meet you all soon! New Farm dog park (near the Powerhouse is good) and all the dogs are well behaved Victoria Park - is that the park behind the swimming/diving complex? Its pretty! We went there alot for a while, there are packs of Snauzers that have regular visits on Saturday mornings there, so unless we want to compete with them, I'm up for Sunday avo outings! Sammie & Asti
  7. I applaud anyone who has the patience for going through each post and commenting! I will attempt that next week, so on that note - I love this forum, makes me want to keep on improving! This is Asti's Week 9, another snoozing indoors non-action one because she spent most of the weekend in aircon again! Week 9/52 of Asti 2011 by samanthasallaway, on Flickr
  8. Whatever post processing you've done to this I really like it Thanks Kirislin, it was as random lightroom preset that I found called "Matt's Vintage New York - 02 Medium"...
  9. Everyone is so talented at taking photos on here... this is our submission for week 8! Week 8/52 of Asti 2011 by samanthasallaway, on Flickr
  10. Simple Pleasure: Relaxing in the backyard on a sunday afternoon...
  11. Sorry but this one is another of Asti snoozin', in this heat it isn't much fun for running around! I will attempt an action shot this weekend! The most exciting news that I want to share is that Asti is getting a baby brother - Penfold - so from the end of March we'll be able to see him grow up as he'll join the 52 weeks challenge too. For a sneak peak you can see him here. Week 7/52 of Asti 2011 by samanthasallaway, on Flickr
  12. This thread moves so fast and I can't comment on anything on my iPhone (which is frustrating - it doesn't seem to recognise the text box to enter replies... anyhoo... I thought I'd also keep this thread here so it doesn't get booted. Before I post the piccies, I just want to say that I love this corner of DOL (as much as the Frenchie forum of course) as you guys are so honest about your doggies from leaving collars on all day to not bothering to feed barf (although i cheat and buy the pre-made barf). Sorry I don't have time to comment on everyone else's posts... Here's my submission into the 52 weeks challenge and a couple extras for good measure... In week 6 of 52... I was hoping to get an action shot this week as I feel like all mine are of Asti snoozing. Unfortunately with the temperature above 32 degrees we locked ourselves indoors with the aircon on... by Sunday we could tell Asti was getting sick of it... Week 6/52 of Asti 2011 by samanthasallaway, on Flickr and some out takes that didn't make it... Asti supervising the backyard to protect her family from those evil Scrub Turkey's!!! :D
  13. I'm really enjoying this challenge and seeing everyone's photos! I was hoping to get an action shot this week as I feel like all mine are of Asti snoozing. Unfortunately with the temperature above 32 degrees we locked ourselves indoors with the aircon on... by Sunday we could tell Asti was getting sick of it... 16. Thanks Anniek! I have a 7D! I just want to be able to take my wallet, phone, keys, external flash and 7D body with 18-200 lens... I just can't decide what bag is right for me...
  17. OOO! I like this one! Posting on this thread is going to be baaad thing! So...where did you get yours AnnieK? How much does it hold? Does it hold an SLR camera body with a 18-200 lens? with more room to hold maybe an external flash? or am I asking too much....
  18. We are definitely up for play or walking Lovely photo Sammie. I've been dying to meet a Frenchie I like to stalk the Frenchie thread We like stalkers!
  19. Rav - I hope the cyclone doesn't eventuate... I'm Western suburbs. Not sure how well structured walking with other dogs would be received by James ("What?! You want me just to walk next to them the whole time? No playing?!?!) but perhaps a play session could be in order when it gets a little cooler? It could be a very embaressing interesting walk for Asti and I... she isn't used to big dogs and usually pulls, growls - more in excitement to play (or say stay away) and if you're lucky you'll get the nervous frothy mouth She has better manners off the lead and that's why practicing to walk with big dogs would be great. Asti says hi to everyone, especially the brisbanites!
  20. This is fantastic! The little one is totally oblivious to the face of the big one!
  21. I'm loving this challenge and all everyone's photos! Last week was Asti's 2nd birthday, so what better photo to have for week 4... Week 4/52 of Asti 2011 by samanthasallaway, on Flickr
  22. Hey! We used to go to the Annerley one as well - is the one you to go on Shaftesbury Street? We stopped going as the small dog section gets so crowded and there's two rotties (one is called Sam) that walk the fence between the two dog sections and Asti alwas has to backup the other little dogs that bark at them! ) It would be a great training experience...
  23. koalathebear - I haven't been in there in AGES, this thread moves so fast that I can't keep up with all the posts. I'm sorry for the loss of your dad and am glad it was such a beautiful day for his service. Minxy and Kyliegirl - I live in Moorooka very close to both of you I hope your survived the floods like we did. You guys both have big dogs and I'd love to meet up for a walk one day (with the risk of sounding like Cesar Milan). Asti really only socialises with little dogs and doesn't like big ones - especially when they're big and fluffy, it'd be a great way to kick start this part of her training. I find it hard to join in with people on their afternoon walks without having to explain 'can we just walk together for 5 mins, just ignore asti'! If you're interested in a walk let me know. to everyone else in here, i promise to check back more regularly! Asti says hi too!
