Importing can be quite a complicated and costly process. Japan is a Cat 2 country which means the pup must be at least 12 weeks when it leaves there, and spend 30 days in quarantine in Aus. This is probably the shortest amount of time you'll have to wait, imports from most other countries will be closer to a year by the time they get to our shores. People are able to bond with rescue dogs that come into their lives older, so I'm sure you'll make it work if this is the direction you do go in

There are a couple of good threads on here, (do a search) About how to approach a breeder for a puppy. The way you have worded your request for us would be off putting for many breeders

Pugs shed like crazy though. Spitz breeds like akitas and my own breed sibes, go through a coat cycle. They lose all their undercoat (insulation) in one go, so it's a snow storm for about a week 2 at most. But really they don't need as much grooming as many think. Our old neighbours had an akita that was a great watch dog, was very friendly, but from her size you would not want to enter the yard unannounced ;)

Sounds like you're having a real rough time with all your neighbours at the moment Dju

The beauty of purebreeds is predictability. I like knowing what I'm getting. With a cross breed it can be like getting a 2 jigsaw puzzles. Shaking them up in one box and then trying to put it together to make a pretty picture. The bits won't always fit together well and you can end up with an ugly mess!.

I have a feeling Earthborn is a Petstock exclusive, or that's what we were told by a rep. Hopefully you can find somewhere there that does sell it :D

Royal Canin Energy 4800
Esky the husky replied to Lemonlime's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Wow never heard of this food before, sounds like something I'd like to try Esky on, to give her extra pep for racing. Given the high fat content I guess you'd have to be really careful feeding it. I'd love to hear experience also if it's just a good food for really active dogs, or provides more energy for the slightly lazier ones ;) -
Rarely is she left home alone, but she's a husky she could do with some toughening up outside  She can moderate her temperature better out there, lying in the shade or the sun as it suits her.

Holy cow, 24 pups. Poor mum

I don't see why you'd want them any bigger, a good malamute is a large, solid dog anyway. They're meant to be, and still are a working breed.

Great Dane X, Life Expectancy
Esky the husky replied to Flow Won Smai's topic in General Dog Discussion
Who knows, as a large cross breed I can only imagine health issues with joints and/ or impropper excercise if owners don't know how to care for these breeds. Honestly not something you could have a guess on. Why do you ask this? -
We've never had a house with carpet before, so I've no idea what to do. But a few times this week I've walked into the only carpeted room to see poo there Even worse is that she seems to have an upset tummy, so it's not been easy to clean up. Gross. Only plus side is the carpet is old, threadbare and brown. What can I do to get rid of the smell, to stop her toileting there again?

It seemed to think my dog was overweight, even though I kept telling it, she certainly is not

What Is The Age Difference Between Your Dogs?
Esky the husky replied to Pretty Miss Emma's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'm hoping that our next dog will come when Esky is between 3 ( the end of this year) and 5 That way she'll still be running competitvely *touch wood* and will be able to teach the young one a thing or too about racing ;) As a kid we had two terrier mutts, littermates. Didn't work out too well, they were veeery bonded, and I had no idea how to train them! (Although I was 10 at the time) My boy has passed away and now Ted is an only dog -

You'll be able to borrow all that gear anyway Happypaws :) Hope to see you all out there again, you kids seemed to enjoy the forest -
Yes we could, but owners of entire bitches would have to keep the bitch home during her season. That is all.
