  1. Heya Yea LOL at goes bananas. I live in Five Dock...Indie sounds like he could be a fantastic "role model" for my dogs. Particularly the larger one as he is my biggest concern due to his size. He is a lovely lovely sooky boy. And we have never had any trouble off lead introducing him to new dogs but just on lead he is a twat (to put it simply) LOL. We would love some help if youd be willing! Lol alot more inner west than I am but Ill easily still have a drive out your way with Indie, he loves car trips anyways. Ill pm you.
  2. Are you serious! You mean they arent as active as a Sibe and Amstaff?! My OH has never met one, he assumed they must need LOTS of exercise (more than our two) , I . Aww, Im in love. Sorry for going off-topic but what is their lifespan and desexing age? I met a wolf hound cross last year, was desexed at 7wks
  3. Love it and well done! ETA- Bawling reading the poem, Doric poems always do it to me.
  4. Jist read e' poem. BAH! See whats happens to me, "canna" stop "spiken" Doric "noo". OH is going to have great fun tormenting me when he gets home. Try again... Just read the poem, awww. A Scottish deerhound will deffinatly be my next dog when the kids grow up, I havent seen one in 5years though. I miss their scruffy good looks There are a few in NSW if you know where to look but most are down in Victoria cause it's a bit hot up here for them. Ours spend all summer flaked out in front of the aircon thats put on just for them... it's a tough life Lol, I would dearly love to have a deery in my life. *Covers Bonnie's and Indie's ears.* They have always been my favourite breed but OH was set on bull breeds. Since Indie has come along, he has now fallen in love with fluffys/scruffys lol. Oh and I need to clarify...the reason I say "when the kids grow up" has nothing to do with the kids being knocked over, more worried they would trip over/fall onto a Deerhound puppy and injury the pups joints , mum of the year or what?!
  5. Bowl cancer diagnosed in April(?) (14mth daughter, 2 1/2yr daughter)and the other was only diagnosed with a brain tumor in June (20mth twins,4yr boy). Not having a fantastic year and I feel so blessed to have my family.
  6. Thankyou! Briging the biggest smile to my face. Apart from my OH, I havent been able to really voice my concerns about Bonnie to anyone but you guys, it helped so much! I didnt say before but the other reason I havent been posting is that I lost another friend to cancer last week (yes, two friends in two weeks, both early 30s, both leaving behind wifes and very small children ). I couldnt let myself be upset about Bonnie amongst my (non-virtual) friends and family, not with what was happening. You have no idea how much your support helped me. Thankyou again, everyone! Over and out. Julz ps- Final Report-Bonnie is starting to look a bit better, even if she is landscaping the garden for me.
  7. Rest In Peace beautiful girl.

  9. *COUGH* Its called Doric, its a Scottish language used in the North-East of Scotland. lol Believe it or not it has been very English-fied to make it easier for people to read Och aye, ye ken fit like eh. Bit en again, fit ken ya de? "Caw! Caw! Caw!" Said an aul' dane craw, As he dichtit his nib on a docken, "I'm wearin awa", Bit I carenae a stra, For I've tastet eh tatties o' Buchan. lol Can you tell Im a proud Doric lass? ETA- Caw caw caw, Said the old dying crow, As he wipped his beak on a leaf, Im wearing away, But I do not care, As I have tasted the potatoes of Buchan. lol Thought I better clear that very short poem up.
  10. Where abouts in sydney are you? I would be happy to help out with Indie, hes an extremly laid back Siberian Husky. He just sits down and ignores other dogs when they are "going bananas". Bonnie, umm, yeah, Ill be leaving her at home as she "goes bananas" at other dogs "going bananas" lol.
  11. lol Glad you are all so happy that my yard is being torn up. Dont tell OH but so am I. She had to do it smack bang in the middle of the lawn too, great choice! lol
  12. Deffinatly agree with PF on this one. I would be very careful incase she decides to rush your girl.
  13. Thankyou so much everyone! Bonnie is ALOT better! Unfortunatly no excerise means my yard is starting to suffer, 2tunnels to china, 1 chewed up dog bed, 1 kong octopus and a dog jacket have all suffered lol Oh well, thats what her human slave is for, cleaning up her mess . I am so gratefull to you all for your warm wishes! Can not begin to describe how elated I am that she has pulled through and I have my Bon back, absolutly blessed. Thankyou everyone! ps I dosed up on Garlic pizza , fenugreek, Vit C and antibiotics and Im 100% better. Ok, minus my voice but hey, I think many would agree that its not a bad thing
  14. Thankyou so much for all the information on your ferrets guys, great read. If anyone goes ferreting near sydney(within 2-3hr drive) please give me a shout, I would love to come and experience it for myself someday. I wont be owning a ferret for a long time yet though, doubt my resident bunnies would appriciate it. ps. Ill deffinatly wear tight jeans, dont really fancy having a ferret stuck up my trousers :p
  15. Food Don't give her too much because then you can potentially bring on other problems including bloat, gastric something or rather, and so forth. Yes my terminology is brilliant I know Her condition will return just fine don't worry about it, fortunately she is eating so its all good. lol Yes I will have to watch what she is eating. She is acting like she hasnt been fed in weeks and even growled at Indie through the fence (feeding seperatly until her eating habits return to normal) as she wanted his dinner aswell yesterday. Having to keep an eye on OH as he still feels bad about what happend and keeps wanting to feed her. ETA- I give up, I have to get back to bed, sorry all, Ill try get online later tonight.
  16. Laughing seriously isnt helping the coughing fits I might add lol. It makes a lovely change to all the worrying though, thankyou!
  17. Hysterical isnt it, trying to keep a stafford quiet.
  18. lol I am determined to be healthy this weekend! Its Fiji day and I missed out last year because of a stupid chest infection, not missing it this year! lol I have the In-Laws kidnapping my kids later so Im planning on cuddling back up in bed with the dogs for the rest of the night. Really should go back to bed now but Im hooked on DOL catch up time . I shouldnt have , major coughing fit. So glad my girl is feeling better. Major weight off of my shoulders. Is there anything I can make for Bonnie to bring her conditon back? The amount of muscle she has lost is quite startling. Ive heard of the rescue remedie but Im not too sure about what it actualy is/does?
  19. Awwww your bringing back memories of my dogs in Scotland. I used to cycle with TJ the saluki by my side and Tyke the papillion in a backpack (he would run alonside for a while untill I decided he'd had enough). Luckily we lived in a small town where he was even allowed to come into all the shops when he was in the backpack, he loved getting spoiled by all of the shop keepers. I miss my boys so much.
  20. Sorry everyone for not being online (pretty bad chest infection ). Honestly have no idea on what I put in my last post. Bonnie went down hill again on tuesday, grey gums so I took her to the local vet (2min from my house instead of 30min drive to my normal vet), not my first choice but I wanted her seen to asap. Her clotting time came in at 1min 29seconds, above normal range but not by that much. Her gums werent that great when we first got there but after a while, with all of her excitment, they had pinked up a bit. They kept her in overnight for obs as it was hard to tell how she was feeling (so excited that her eyes were completly blood shot from pulling on her collar trying to lick the vet). She wasnt put on fluids as she was guzzling water when offered it and was still eating. Picked her up in the morning and she was basically back to being "Bonnie", she was still ignoring non-family members but was ALOT better. Yesterday and today you would swear that nothing had happend to her! She is acting 100% better which is hard as she wants to play fight with Indie and is starting to go stir crazy not being allowed to play/exercise. To look at her, she has lost alot of condition, looks skinny, lost alot of muscle and has a dull coat but atleast her "stafford grin" is back instead of the constant "sad eyes". Energy wise, its becoming a hard task to stop her from doing zoomies when she is let out to go toilet (she wont toilet when on a lead). Constantly trying to push her tug toys into our hands so that we will play with her, sorry lass but its not happening for a while yet. Thankyou everyone for all your lovely posts and thankyou for the pms on alternative vets, much appriciated! Julz, Bon & Indie.
  21. They didnt do it but Im taken her back in as soon as my friend arrives to mind the kids and having it done, I need to know whats happening. She has gone backwards. Not as bad as Sunday, pale pink gums but she just isnt herself . My OH thought the worst this morning as she wouldnt get out of bed for him or for our eldest daughter. I had a check, she was freezing despite her dog coat and felt soft (?) but got up when I asked her and perked up a bit. Now she is out the front veranda with me and several neighbours have came to say hi to her, including the neighbours dog which she normally makes her over the top excited, shes basically just turning her back on them and not intrested in the slightest. She still has this soft feeling to her body and I hate it. We found 3 dead rats(huge) today so if its taken this long to kill them(I removed all of the baits when I found out what had happend) I think she is still going to have a few rough days ahead of her yet. Edit to add- Even the skin on her face isnt bouncing back into place when you pinch it.
