  1. I only voted for my JRT, she has injured hers a few times and I ended up getting hers surgically removed, she is horrible when it comes to trimming her nails so I figured this would solve a few problems My Goldie has hers and has never had a problem with them
  2. There is a vet at Kedron (I think) who comes highly recommended on here...not exactly sure which vet though
  3. Practice practice and practice The dogs need to learn to walk together just as much as you need to learn to walk them together, its not easy at first, but with perseverance it does get easier
  4. Do you think I should ring said chiro and tell him her problem? when I went to see him he came across a bit arrogant, but I dont know if he got me wrong when he double booked so I had to wait (no worries im patient) and then when he was telling me that he expected she would have patella issues based on her breed (it pretty much came across that he was saying Tess poorly bred) Im not saying there might not have been an underlying issue, they may well have been loose, but they have never caused an issue with her, now all of a sudden they are sliding out on their own, and its only since her visit to this chiro
  5. Not a big one...but might do the job? https://www.hartsport.com.au/products/6-646...e-core-strength
  6. Tess has never had problems with her patellas before, she never did the little skip with her back legs or anything, she never came up lame on her legs either A month or two ago I was recommended a chiro by quite a few people on here, not because I was concerned about her, but because I was looking into massage for her and a lot of people suggested making sure she was all in alignment before going ahead with massage Anyway I took her to the chiro, he made up his mind on sight that she had a patella problem, and even after asking me if she skips of favours legs (to which my answer was no), when he was checking her he was very rough with her and had trouble 'checking' her patellas. Anyway after a bit of a struggle he was finally able to move them, and after that he could move them easily Since taking her to him she has been coming up lame on both back legs, but one side more than the other when we play fetch, she NEVER had this problem prior to this visit, and its been happening very frequently, a vet confirmed its her patellas causing the lameness (although even this vet was FOS so Im not trusting his opinion 100%) What I want to know is, is it possible that this chiro has caused damage to her patellas by forcing them? I dont know a lot about them, but I do know this problem didnt exist before she went to him Im quite annoyed about it because he was highly recommended by quite a few people on here and also in my agility club...and now this has happened ETA, when he made up his mind on first sight he didnt tell me this until after he moved the patellas, and his opinion was formed based on her breed (JRT), and after having asked me if she is crossbred (which she isnt, she came from a reg breeder)
  7. No complaints about it? do you think the material will deteriorate at all if its constantly installed in the car? my last one was good at first but the waterproof lining on the bottom has deteriorated and crumbled after only a few months use Mine seems to be pretty tough plastic and has held up well - I have left it up in the car for a while and it doesn't seem to show any deterioration - but the lack of holes for tethers - while I can see the reasons - is a pain. My Bloodhound loves it though and will happily lie down on it while travelling - but am looking for ways to restrain him more securely - bit paranoid now :D Does it have zips on both sides of the 'door'? its a bit hard to tell how its secured by the photos It has a zip on both sides of the door that allow the 'flap' on that side to be pulled down to let the dogs in - it is secured by straps around the back seat headrests and the front seat headrests - these are adjustable Hmm, so the only way to secure the dogs would be by the anchor points right? because you cant access the seatbelts or latch bars?

  11. Here is another option for restraining the dog, if you are worried about the dogs pullling the seat belt out too far then do up the seatbelt under the BSB and secure the tether to the very base of the seatbelt, right near the door, if you only have westies they are small enough that they should be comfy
  12. Thats why I made mine, I couldnt find one long enough, they are triple or quadruply stitched so I think they would hold well in the event of an accident Im sure Ive seen a bsb that protects the doors, there is a zippered piece that you undo when you open the door, my silly JRT gets in under my hammock, which defeats the purpose of having it
  13. Im guessing the one Gayle has isnt actually a back seat buddy, just the same sorta thing
  14. I made restraints of my own that clip onto the anchor points, on my car they are on the back of the back seats Does anyone know of a back seat buddy that protects the doors? for some reason I always thought 'the' back seat buddy did but looking into them further they dont seem to
  15. Have you seen the 2x2 dvd? I found that is really helpful in understanding it...now I just wish i could get my dogs to sit down and watch it so they know what to do lol
  16. Well they are looking much better today, there is only a few of the bad ones that are still hot and nasty looking, not oozing though, just not looking nice so I treated all those again this morning
  17. Tick lol Tess eats holes in undies...never needed surgery though ewww dogs are so gross
  18. Good idea, Im not exactly sure of the name but its the emergency vet clinic at Albany Creek, LuvLottie actually works there, she sent me a PM the other week when Tess ran off so I could check if she had been handed in there over night, so thanks to that amazing clinic, and thanks to Luv Lottie for giving me the details the other week, I knew there was a vet there because my work stores our spare keys there but I had no idea they were an emergency service If anyone wants to know the horrible rip off vet at Eatons Hill let me know
  19. Someones sad I ended up spending a couple of hours clipping all her spots, dabbing them with witch hazel, then betadine and then curash, there was a couple of spots on her ears that she wouldnt let me look at and Im alone so I had nobody to help hold her still, but because she wouldnt stop trying to lick and scratch I rang another emergency vet to see if they had E-collars, thankfully they did so took her down to get fitted for one and they clipped the ear that was still pretty bad, and put this cream on it, also thankfully they took pity on me when I told them about the other vet doing nothing about treating the spots and did that free of charge
  20. Sorry I lie, $51 of that $200 was just him saying that Tess has bad patellas and needs to have a $1200 surgery on each leg, either that or she needs to stop running around and jumping...I seriously dont think that vet knows anything about dogs
  21. Almost wish I didnt go to the vet now, $200 later all he did was look at one spot, give me some medicated shampoo and some antibiotics, he said curash does nothing, but didnt give me any advice on what to put on them, all he said was to wash her twice a week in this shampoo and once a week after they all clear up
  22. Hmm, after giving her a full proper checkover Ive noticed that there is about 9 spots all up (that Ive found), some are just hot with a little bump so I guess thats the beginning, the others have opened up...is this a case for the vet? one is on her face My poor baby, it happens so quick!
  23. How long do you keep putting curash on for? until they get better?
