  1. Inside your head must be screaming and you must be feeling overwhelmingly helpless babe Don't give up hope, you have Jodie and Dogbesotted in your corner with their wealth of knowledge. Like Jodie said, he can't be cured but maybe he can live a few more years, you coudn't be in better hands for information or support. Only time I've wished I was in Sydney since I got here so I could give you big :banghead: Lots of Love Riles PS: I've never gone through it with a fur kid but I've lived it with an Aunt who we had at home to the very end.
  2. Oh Karen, I'm so sorry sweetheart :p Fingers crossed that the operation was a sucess but just keep one thing in mind sweetheart, he can get around on three as easy as four and the priority is that he grow old with you. Will pray for Wags tonight, I'm wearing whoever is up there, ears out at the mo with all my prayers Lots of Love Riles
  3. Jodie I'm sorry I don't get to post much, still no comp at home. I don't want you to think you guys are not in my thoughts and heart all the time. I'm sorry about the bad news but from what Dogbesotted has said, he may live for quiet a few years to come. My heart breaks for you babe, all dogs deserve a Mum just like you, your love for Ollie knows no boundaries, it's insurmountable and unconditional and if I could have just one wish it would be that you both grow old together. The little bugger sounds like he had an absolutely delightful weekend and thoroughly enjoyed his spoiling (but then again he deserves it). Sounds like the gardening wit his Daddy was hard work Re the chemo, your right, you and he deserve a quality of life together and sometimes treatment (if it is only palliative) can take that away and in some instances is best stopped. Like Dogbesotted said, you can send them off with no regrets because you make the most of every minute of every hour of every day. You get to cuddle and kiss them and tell them how much you love them and spoil them bloody rotten. When we loose anyone we love suddenly, we can have many regrets, when we have a heads up, we make the most of it. I pray each night for you and Ollie to have a few more years together, that heaven can hold off on calling this special little angel back for a while, I've added Lucinda and Dogbesotted to them also. Always in my heart and thoughts. All My Love Riles
  4. Jodie, you and Ollie are always in my heart and thoughts, fingers crossed that the chemo goes well today. Give the boy a cuddle for me Love Riles
  5. Awe LB, I didn't realise this was a post from a while back and was going to say sounded like a bad bout of kennel cough. Sounds weird that it is reoccuring and they can't find anything, I'm sure it will be something as simple as a grass seed embedded somewhere it shouldn't be, don't worry too much sweetheart Love Riles
  6. Oh you poor thing, the joys of puppyhood There is a spray that I bought from Pet Barn, think it was called Scram, you can spray it on things you want them to stay away with and also places you don't want them to urinate in. It worked a treat for Rosie I'm sure if you ask the staff they will know what I'm talking about (pretty sure it had citronella in it). Good luck and hope OH isn't too peeved. Take Care Riles
  7. Rosie started on BARF when staying with Imoenboxers and I have continued on since being here in Melbourne, the change in her coat is REMARKABLE!!!! She was dropping coat like no tomorrow and it was dull, now it's shiny and soft. She also has much more weight on now and is looking nice and toned. Bet your breeders eyes will fall out of his head when he sees them Take Care Riles
  8. Sure you can sweetheart, you just gain your strength from looking into those gorgeous big eyes. Thinking of you Lots of Love Riles
  9. Aweee Jodie I'm sorry but I just don't have words at the mo, bloody dust in my eyes. Thinking of you. Love Riles
  10. Hmmm...... wonder who on earth that could be ;) Staying home IS an option Ashley :p :p :p
  11. Sorry but K9Force is well renowned for REAL problem dogs, he can turn an aggresive dog around in one lesson, BIG difference to joining a club. I think you summed it up well: "if people are happy to pay because they get the results" there is a difference between a reasonable amount and being ripped off, any dog club comfortable taking $610 off someone who could potentially move is wrong. If you move to another state, you loose a LOT of money and are therefore up for more money to join up elsewhere. Basically if you want to join ADT you need to know your ALWAYS going to be living within the area. Take Care Riles
  12. I'm sorry Yogi but NO club is worth a membership of $610, unless of course you live in Double Bay, Sydney. Think I'll keep researching for a new club for when I move. Take Care Riles
  13. I'm sorry but $610 dollars :D I'd not like to be held into a life time membership for that much money, people move and lives change, that and what if you aren't happy You can get 5 classes with K9Force for $575 dollars and at the end of that he has the dog perfect if you put in the work as the owner. Sorry I still can't believe a dog club membership costs $610 dollars Take Care Riles
  14. Fantastic question Alison, I'm keen to know as it sounds perfect for Rosie and I when we move :thumbsp: Take Care Riles
  15. WOW sounds awesome :D I know with most clubs there is a once off joining fee, an annual yearly fee and then ground fees each week, can you please advise what these are? Seeing as I'm moving to Melbourne I'm DEFINATELY looking for a good dog club. Take Care Riles
  16. I have no words honey, but please, from the bottom of my heart, know it is breaking for you Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. All My Love Riley
  17. Saw the title, got all excited and then saw the venue, MELBOURNE You'll be seeing Rosie and I this time next year Hedds, SHUDDDAAAAPPPPPPPP Take Care Riles
  18. Make them pick up dog poo after a can of dog food, proof is in da poo's ;)
  19. From going out to Herding with Vickie, I can guarantee that sheep get use to it and in the end the dogs don't have to work them as the sheep just follow you. They are selling and buying new ones out where we go so you'd need to keep that in mind ie. after some time have to sell and buy knew ones. Re breeds, leave that up to those who are in the know Love Riles
  20. Awe Jodie, my heart is breaking into a thousand little pieces at the moment for you  Bommy may not be on much at the mo due to be tired but if you send her a pm she can tell you HEAPS about the chemo, she went through it with Molly, it gave her longer with her family and as far as I know she wasn't sick all the time. I'm sure she will be more than happy to tell you as much as she can. Please know your in my heart, thoughts and prayers Love Riles
  21. I'm actually going to try out a new obedience club in Sydney in the new year. I'll work on the basics at home as I have the handbook from my old club (that I only attended once) between now and then. I WILL do at least a six month stint, PROMISE and let you all know how I go. Believe it or not TigerJack, Rosie is NO WHERE NEAR the size of a ridgeback, she only weighs about 13kgs and is probably kelpie size at the mo. I don't invsage her getting too much bigger, she'll be lucky if she gets as big as her Mum (20kgs). Border Collie size if she is lucky. Thanks for all the wonderful advice, I guess I knew in my heart I had to do my obedience, and yep Eridor would probably love her titled, where is the *stomps off and does homework* emoticon. You know, like a petulant teenager who knows they have to but doesn't want to ;) I guess I always knew I had to do it but after 2 years of chewed up furniture and continuely teaching sit, drop and stay, over and over I just needed a gentle push. Thank you Riles
  22. Boring! My sentiments too This old chook is a McCleods Daughter, never did dressage or showing jumping, just line up that old tree laying down and weeeeeeeee off ya go. But being serious, I guess that is all there is really left for us at the mo so Obedience it is, I understand it builds a great foundation for everything else but why for so boring Rosie sits, walks on the heel, does most things because I taught her at home from a pup. I know, I know, patience is the key, I guess two years at home with nothing but pups I am chomping a little to do something fun. Rosie hits 1 April 2nd, first time in two years I won't have a pup around the house (meaning that in 2 years I've never had a single adult in the house ). All my rescues were 10 mths and under. Riles
  23. Not a rush to start a sport, just wanted something we could do together that is fun, Rosie gets socialised and I get to meet knew people (we live on our own). Thanks for all that info PF, definately food for thought and I'll be looking into all you advised, I really do appreciate everyone's replies Riley
  24. Not sure what I want to do, in all reality I'm just not a competitive person, I just want Rosie to have fun. The Club I was going to join, does Flyball and Agility on the same night (I checked them out at Pet Expo @ Rosehill). Don't get me wrong, if Rosie really excels at one and can compete then great, but if not I'm not going to be disappointed. Vickie re the waiting to Flyball and do after agility: the problem is that I can't start agility for another 4 months (2nd April whe will be 12 months) as Rosie is only 7 months old. I'll be starting back at Obedience in the New Year and want us to be able to do something fun together. I did try looking for you at th Expo on the Saturday Tiger Jack but to no avail Just at a bit of a loss guys. Love Riles
