  1. As well as video of the kids in the act, call the local shire and report the incident of harassment towrads your dog, this is viewed( if anything ever happens) as provacation by cause, and will be taken into account if the dog does bite. All very well to report at the time of an incident but it is better to pre warn, and as your dog is being antagonised it is not an offence. Under law people do require acess to your fron door uninhibited, however that is for acess a person intruding on property for no cause would be considered a different matter ( by a council) It is also a good idea to get video of the "good kids" walking past and patting the dog as well. Kids and parents who cant control them are a serial menace, good luck. I believe under law the only people that have the right to trespass on your property are those engaged to do such work as electricy meter readers, council workers, police etc. Not your average joe blow does not have the right legally to be able to come up to your front door. AFIK
  2. My thoughts are to try to get video footage of the kids doing this stuff at the time you know they are passing by the house, ( check with the police about legalities of filming first though) and if it is lawful, obscure yourself from ther view, maybe from your front window etc, then let the police know, show them and let the mother know you have filmed this and contacted the police, and that if there is any subsequent damage to your property and they are caught doing this, you will be holding the mother liable via your insurance company ( home ins) etc. That may make her stand up and reprimand her kids properly if she thinks shes going to have to pay for the damages. Whilst she doesnt think that she will do nothing. Secondly I wouldnt want any dog of mine being in a front yard to close proximity to someone putting their hand over and being able to touch my dog, you never know if some malicious person would try to bait your dog, and you would never know, or even steal your dog. I would be putting my dog in the backyard secured from other people, your dog is not safe if passers by can get access to it, and its placid and friendly and stands no chance against malicious folk. Can you fence your backyard? that would be the best option in my opinion. At least if someone throws rocks at your house, it is only the house which can be fixed, if someone hurts your dog it could be nasty.
  3. Weird, because what are they going to do with all that stuff anyway necks etc, sounds like they would rather throw it than make a dollar, and when the customer is buying other stuff too, and they make a bit on the "offal' what is the problem, it really is their loss.
  4. A little bit of courteousy go's a long way. If you don't feel happy walking into a shop, if you cannoy be greeted with a smile, then you are going to be less inclined to go there, and you'll end up finding somewhere else, even if it's further, usually even if it costs a little more, because no one wants to walk into unhappiness. You are most likely not the first customer he has lost over time, but you have to feel for the wife I guess, shes the one stuck with him
  5. maybe give current affair a call, they always want stories like that. that should move things if you can get some air time
  6. Yes, I found this interview very disturbing and distressing. The interviewer didn't pose any tricky questions to the moronic owner of the killer dogs. He just sat there saying the dogs were wonderful with his kids and they were very important to him blah blah. How about some empathy for the poor man who lost his beloved dogs in such a vile manner?? No sign of any empathy, remorse etc. These dogs should all be euthanased and their owner fined so massively and banned from having further dogs. The local authorities are not doing their job either - they should ensure that he does not have defective fencing and if he does, he can bring home as many new dogs as he likes but they all get impounded as they can all escape and do the same as the dogs that have gone before. I don't give a rats ---e if they are pitty crosses, I didn't really see it personally in the dogs they showed although there was plenty of staffy in them - which is not a plus either as far as I'm concerned. Whatever breed(s) they are, they all need euthanasing right now. The owner needs to be severely punished - something that he gets because he isn't getting anything right now. No sense of responsibility for the evil his dogs have done. Whilst the story is horrifying, keep in mind that news shows like that are very capable of putting the spin on a story exactly the way they want it to be portrayed. Not advocating for the bloke with his locked up dogs, but they can and so show people in a very bad light, edit these segments where it suits to get ratings. He may well have said he was sorry, we don't know it could have been edited. It wasn't a smooth straight segment , it did jump about, so leads me to think there could well have been some footage cut out.
  7. Maybe a NEW society needs to be set up that is for NON profit australia wide because this one has carte blance and is a law unto themselves.
  8. Whatever can be done to stop this sort of disgusting treatment of animals? It seems they are a power under themselves and are unstoppable really. They get the $ from people, bequests, adoptions etc. It seems more of a big business than anything else
  9. does anyone who gets dew claws removed ask for anaesthetic? ( local ) that is not general to alleviate the pain the pup feels whilst having this procedure done?
  10. Any chance of someone posting a couple of photos of ABPT and the staffs, I would just like to learn what are the diffrences in the looks please
  11. s this dogs behaviour that is getting you down simply a precursor for something bigger in your life, eg the " last straw" scenariou, because just simple bad dog/teen dog rebellion behaviour it seems unusal that it would get you that down as to make you that upset IYKWIM
  12. From what they are saying is the dog was previously mistreeated, so I doubt a run away kids was involved And kids clothes were found inside the bag, god only hopes the kids are OK too, if a person can do that to an animal they are capable of anything.
  13. The eggs can survive the adult flea, so they are probably out on the ground as well, they are so very hard to kill off, you just have to keep at them. I wash my veranda down with malaban that seems to help a lot.
  14. Wouldn't turning animals away encourage the owners to just dump them in the streets etc, or worse, kill them etc??
  15. Awwww, poor Rusty! What a polite boy to walk away . Saxon has woken himself up with his farts a couple of times. He turns around and looks at me in disgust as if it was me!! My Hubby LOVES having 2 dogs in the house cause he can blame his farts on them Dont they all :p Always say better out than in anyway
  16. Also many gravys are full of MSG, dont know what if any affect that has on dogs as opposed to humans it does.
  17. Plenty of people do this and also watch the ones that let their kids run about near cars too, just as dangerous, and they don't seem to learn either.
  18. Here here, all dogs are "gods' creatures and should be loved and cared for just the same, but no one should be made to feel guilty because of what type of dog they choose to own or have in their lives either.
  19. Ever known a dog to fart then suddenly they get up and walk away, and you then get it hit you in the face and the dog is smart enough to be long gone
  20. Hi All I'm guessing it might be ok to post this here, but if not ( mods/admin) please let me know, I don't want to go breaking any posting rules on the forum. 21. The facts are no one saw wht happened, the dog was in a front yard with shoddy fencing, it had previously escaped over easter period and the owner did not fix the broken fencing from the storm or secure it in the backyard, it was able to get to the neighbours, so it was able to get out, so whether it got out and then was hit or bashed is unknown, it got out and the owner knew it had been out before and made no attempt to put in the backyard with secure fencing, the owner was not protecting his dog when he knew it could get out, when he knew the fencing was broken, and he went to work leaving it in the front yard where it was not safe from passers by or from jumping a fence and getting out, which it did get out ( either before it was injured or after it was injured). It should not have been able to get out if it was secured properly.
  22. on a 5 acre property where the dogs were not a menace to anyone, you would have to wonder if the dogs were known to the attacker
