  1. I can't find the words to tell you and Cara's owners how I feel. Again and again, I tell myself that life isn't fair. Poor little mite who wouldn't have been doing anything wrong. She may have thought that she could play among the hooves and has learned a lesson the hard way and paid for it with her life. :p What a bl**dy waste of a baby so young. I'm sure I can't do anything to help but just in case,........................I'm here. Rest in Peace at the Bridge little Cara. There are Shelties lined up to welcome you. Laddie Braveheart, my Pepper, my Maple, my Tuckey, my Drum and my Bonnie to name a few.
  2. Thank you Ellie, Kozi & Pinky. My Pepper girl, You had a cruel start to your life before you came to me and I tried to keep you safe and make up for what "another" had done to you. It doesn't matter that we had to stop our obedience trialling because you were petrified of the nice people I told you were called "judges" coming near you. What mattered most was that you felt safe and started to trust people. I wish you would come to me now and let me know that you're still safe. I wish I had you here. I just miss you so much my "Pepperoni". :p :p :p Love, Mum
  3. Dear sweet Roo, Today is going to be a battle for your mum and dad. A year on since you had to go to the bridge will be so hard for them. Look down on them, protect them and surround them with your love in their grief. Your candle still burns but I know your spirit has found its way home and will never leave them. Kozi and Pinky, you'll be in my thoughts today (as always).
  4. Fly free darling Marika. :D Shelties Bonnie, Tuckey, Maple, Drum and Pepper will also be there to run with you at My friend Betty's Sheltie Ben also joined you all last Saturday. We'll all meet again one day. to Margaret.
  5. ;) (to the tune of Jingle Bells) "la la la, la la la, la la la la la". Kozpink is a vegetarian and will have been reading that post singing that tune, with her fingers in her ears just like Babe did in the movie. ;) Hope you didn't mind a little lighthearted post in Roo's thread Pinky!
  6. Watch over mum and dad today sweet Roo.
  7. Fly free babies. You'll find a foster fur-mum at the
  8. Thank you Spoilt Lab. I hope everyone who has lost their fur-friends reads this.
  9. Oh heavens, poor Peanut! Please pass on my hugs to his owners. What a terrible terrible thing to witness. Be young and free now at little Peanut.
  10. :D :D ;) Oh Rozzie, You take in those that no one else wants. The old, arthritic, ill, blind, deaf......................UNWANTED. You fix the unwanted part first, alleviate the pains, until the Rainbow Bridge takes care of the rest. :D Work all those sheep at the Bess. for Rozzie and Mr R.
  11. Dear Roo, You had to go to the bridge 5 months ago today. Today will be another struggle for your Mum and Dad. Watch over them. :D
  12. 4 months today Queen Roo. :D Your Mummy and Daddy miss you so very much. ;) Watch over them and help them to get through. and give Pepper my love.
  13. Oh Jacki, It's not fair. :D There'll be lots of DOL dogs to meet him and take him under their wing.
  14. Not lost or in pain anymore dear sweet Debbie. Rest now. :p For Debbie's Mum
  15. If it's been 4 days I would be fasting him for 24 hrs. Give his gut a rest. Then introduce bland food gradually in very small portions 3-4 times daily. Usually steamed chicken and rice are the go but if you suspect a chicken allergy with this pup too, substitute steamed fish, cottage cheese or very lean boiled minced beef. Gradually increase the meat/fish and decrease the rice then start to gradually substitute some of the pup's normal diet. Provide plenty of clean fresh water. If the diahorrea persists after fasting, I'd be seeing the vet (or at least taking a sample in). Good luck ST!
  16. Night night Jenny dear. :D Poor Rozzie and Mr R. You need your own personal section here. I'm not good with Roses so I have Camellias. I have a "Jennifer Ann".
  17. What a shock. RIP at Carnage.
  18. 3 months today since she left for the ;) She is immortalised in the DOL movie and in your hearts. :D We will see them again.
  19. I've been a bit concerned too and was going to post. I have the same problem with some of my dogs (Coolie crosses)who are gutsies. They take one bite then the neck gets swallowed whole. Defeats the purpose of helping to clean the teeth. The Shelties and Collie chew them up ok. I used to give carcasses then Dr Rob Zammit on the radio said he has seen too many problems caused by raw chicken bones and doesn't advise giving them to dogs at all (even necks and wings)!! He says the only raw bones he recommends for all dogs are brisket. I must say, when I looked at the carcasses, some of the bones (although raw), looked pretty darned sharp. Be interesting to hear other thoughts and in particular, from anyone currently working in the veterinary field.
  20. Sorry Maggie. We've been away. Hope your family coped with a heartbreaking day on your Birthday. Bet Laddie Braveheart put on a party for you complete with haggis & bagpipes. Hugs from the BB gang for your 9th Birthday.
  21. ;) It's so hard. Sammy would be very sad that his family is having such a terrible time. Try to be brave for him. You will get to a place where when you think of Sammy, you will smile, not cry. Just hang in there. We're beside you..............just as I hope my beautiful Pepper is beside your handsome Sammy. We'll join them one day. Until then, Sammy would want you to try to feel a little happier so Mr. Puppy doesn't feel upset too.
  22. Very very beautiful. How very lucky Sam was to have a family like you. But I bet I know exactly what you're thinking.....................how lucky your family was to have someone like Sam. How the heck did we get so lucky to have these trusting souls come into our lives?
  23. Thinking of you Kosi and Pinky and Queen Roo all the time. The dogs and I just got home from our trip to outback NSW but only staying long enough to drop off Mr BB and replenish supplies then dogs and I are off again to camp at Wingello forest (Southern Highlands). We have always enjoyed camping and it seems so strange without Pepper. She was a great traveller and camper right up until last year when she turned 15. We've just completed the last leg of our journey home from the Pilliga scrubs (9 hours) so will put these tired out furkids to bed. Just thought I'd check in on Roos thread to see how you guys are coping. We'll be heading off again on Monday. If you need to talk before then, PM me and I'll phone you. ;)
  24. Sezy, I have ordered the Daisy Sutra but hasn't arrived yet. Kozi, please tell Pinky I hope she will feel better soon. I know what you mean about feeling guilty for not grieving all the time. Sometimes I start to hum a tune and immediately stop myself and feel so dreadful that I allowed myself to feel a little bit happy when I have just lost my Pepper Girl. You know that Roo would be upset if you didn't continue the work that you do.....the work that brought you and she together. Talk soon,
