  1. Well yeah she was weaned on it.... the breeder didnt say I had to stick with that though...... If I follow oakways advice and mix in heaps of chicken mince then hopefully she will learn to be ok with kibble... You can see her ribs when she sits and turns certain ways if that makes sense? When she is standing I can very faintly see the ribs.. What do you mean go to more drastic measures to avoid a fussy eater?
  2. thanks oakway..... Will try and find some minced chicken carcass to add in as well... I thought Holistic select was very good quality kibble? so is that ok to use? correct me if I am wrong! Yes wormed on the 1st as scheduled and no signs in her poos or anything...
  3. Ok I have a whippet- I know they are supposed to be skinny! Anyway she is almost 6 months old. I got her at 4 months... Once the food she came with ran out (raw) I just fed her what I was feeding my other small boy who is 18 months- Holostic Select kibble with VIP dog roll + bones, chicken necks occasionaly etc. (she gets fed twice a day) There is always kibble left in the bowl after a meal but she doesnt eat it. I am just worred cause she looks so skinny and she goes crazy when we are eating like she is starving to death or something... So my questions are: Should I feed her specific puppy food? Becuase it has more calories and if I get the tin type she will like the taste and eat it all.... Would a dog actually starve themselves when there is kibble right there? Maybe she just doesnt like the kibble? eta- I just want to add that she shows no signs of being hungry or unwell aside from looking awfully skinny and being super excitable around us when eating.
  4. Banjo uses one for training and it has saved my sanity. There was no possible way I could stop him from going absolutly batpoop crazy towards other dogs. As soon as he heard a bark in the distance it was on. We had to cross the road whenever another dog was coming and even then it was ridiculous. The first training club I took him to was a nightmare- there was like 30 dogs in once class. Banjo did not stop barking and trying to attack other dogs the whole time. We were given the chain but not shown how to use it. We ended up not going to training becuase it was such a nightmare and we werre getting no where. Ended up finding another club- which was not easy becuase at least 3 clubs turned us away becuase of his barking- anyway the trainer at the new club put the chain on him, gave him a huge check and he immedietly stopped. It was the happiest day of my life! there was light at the end of the tunnel! He start right next to a husky pup he had just 10 minutes ago tried to attack. Ever since then he has gotten better and better I cant even explain how happy and releived I am. IMO it is the best tool ever invented for dogs liek Banjo. He is not even the same dog. BUT I wouldnt never leave it on him- what kind of moron would? At home the dogs dont wear any collar.
  5. That stupid cow should rot in hell. And yes that is a very dumb headline- but what do we expect from the bullsh1t 'news'
  6. Gentle Leader Harness! worked like magic on my boy
  7. Wow just read all 19 pages *needs to go and have a nap* A few pages back someone asked why all the hype about lax x poodles not being bred for a 'purpose' and used the pug as an example.... How they werent bred for any particular purpose but to be a great pet- and I am sure there are other breeds that were created for looks and the ability to be a family pet alone. (Sorry I am NOT reading through all these pages again to find the exact post) Anyway I noticed no one replied and would like to hear the thoughts on this? btw I am not into DD's at all and have personally found any lab x poodles I have met to be very dopy looking- like the special ed of the dog world lol
  8. Already been through two of those But thanks for the suggestions! Ohhhhhh too bad! Guess there are dogs out there with stronger jaws then little banjie haha
  9. Kong Wubba! Its for puppies but my older boy loves it and its the only toy he hasn't/ cant destroy :-D
  10. Thank you that is something like I am looking for and the cost is reasonable... will look into it further.. Yes they are inside dogs... Just looking at the runs they are put in and all the dogs barking... I think it would be a very stressful situation for them. Plus Banjo came from the pound and I cant bear the thought of him thinking he has been deserted again So yeah I want them to be happy and warm and have lots of attention... I just cant see this happening at a kennel...
  11. I am going away at the end of the month for four days... Now I am starting to really worry about where to leave my dogs. I really, really don’t want to leave them at a boarding kennel. I don’t know anyone here to look after them. I am not comfortable with the idea of someone coming into my home and all that time by themselves. So that just leaves me with the option of finding someone who would mind them for me in their own home. Can anybody recommend someone/somewhere in Adelaide that this might be possible? Or should I just advertise?
  12. wow all of this is exactly whats happened to my boy- Good to see whats happened isnt unusual!!!!!!!
  13. lol so much for JRT x! I can see as a puppy he may have looked that way though The rspca didnt even take a guess with my boy... just called him a terrier x.... lol I am pretty sure he is sheltie x or pom x though
  14. His face looks so much like my heart dog Scooter that was a kelpie x :,(
  15. Thank you she is beautiful isnt she She was bred by Margaret.... her prefix is allstars... Are our girls related then? hee hee
  16. Banjo approx 18 months old Luda 5 months old Luda the ghost
  17. Banjo used to be the most affectionate, sookey little babe who never stopped following me around... Ever since we got Luda he has changed so much.... Its like he grew up and doesnt need me anymore Now he prefers the floor or his own bed rather being next to me on the lounge. He follows Luda around now... not me He seems to not be as fussed with playing with me and his toys.. I miss my old boy but then I know he is so much more happy and content now So when you got your second dog did you notice changes? Were they good or bad?
  18. My rant- People are ignorant. People blindly follow trends. People beleive whatever they are told. People dont give a shit about anything/one but themselves People don't think ahead or of the future only of the now. Thats why the whole world is a mess let alone the dog world. If I could I would take off to the bush with my OH and my dogs and never come out. If I never had to see another human for the rest of my entire life I would die happy.
  19. Agreed. Actually maybe their parents for letting their children end up like this. BRING ON THE INTERNET LYNCH MOB! they deserve everything thats coming to them
  20. Yes prepare for some screaming! The most scared I have ever been in my life was driving away from the breeders house with this creature in the back making the most god awful noise I have ever heard... LOL but she soon settled down. We didn't have to sign a contract but she just went through all the papers/microchip stuff with us and gave us a list of what she had been fed... also gave us tons of her food to take home (raw) to keep feeding for the next week or so to help her settle in. its all very exciting!
  21. wow! I really love the second one amazing what a decent camera can do!
  22. I found one with a couple of teeth holes in it in my back yard a couple of months ago... the vet told me to just keep an eye on Banjie... Nothing ever happened to him...
  23. Can she visit another vet? Has she given the doses of revolution yet? No improvement? Yeah I wouldn't expect a pet shop to help.
