  1. Wow I must say thats the first i've heard about that mix lol. Very cute though ;) I just bought a huge bag of nutro- the pieces are quite large. To early to know how well they will go on it yet... I think Hana will definetly have to chew. As far as I know and have read Nutro is quite a good food.
  2. I love my dogs but..... Banjo stop barking at the dog next door! at the birds! at the air! They aren't going to get you! shuddup! I love my dogs but...... Luda give me some space at night! It was probably 35 degrees overnight yet you still insist on being between my and OH!? Under the blankets! And yes of course the tumbleweeds of hair :S
  3. Mine were never interested in the kong or any other type of treat ball I got for them Banjo loves squeaky toys and especially his pink wubber- its by far his best toy ever. Luda isn't really interested in any toys and is not interested in fetch or anything like that lol. She does love my knickers, toilet rolls (preferably with paper still attached) and books though.
  4. :-O Not fair! I go to that beach quite often and I have never seen the seal
  5. That is brilliant! Well done!
  6. I had almost the EXACT same experience :D I love watching the show... I never try to put anything he does to work because I am not a professional (also I no longer have a crazy dog). I have watched many many episodes and can only recall once or twice where he 'choked the dog till it ran out of air'- I don't think that’s something he does all the time. He really sticks up for breeds like pitt bulls that have a bad reputation. I remember in one of his episodes he was on the street asking people what dog they were most scared of and then went through a little info about each one showing that the breeds aren’t dangerous its the people who handle them basically. That’s the best message ever to get across. He also does a lot with charity and highlights causes etc. To me it is just an entertaining show.... and that’s all its supposed to be? that’s why there is a disclaimer on every episode (I think even a few times in every episode) saying 'do not attempt without a professional or something of the like... He is quite funny as well makes me laugh
  7. Excuse my ignorance but how would euthanizing huge numbers of dogs have helped with the war effort?
  8. tobasco? Hallie? (Jalepeno)
  9. Despite barking at other dogs and making a mess of any paper and shoes left around I think my dogs are well behaved I mean they could be a lot worse. I don't think there are a lot of dogs that can be left inside the house all day 5 days a week without causing a fair bit of damage  Definitely not well trained haha
  10. When we are sitting outside and Banjo is around we say 'where’s your toy Banj' and he goes off and finds some form of toy. If he brings back a bad one like a sock or skin animal (toy without the fluff) then we say 'where’s your other toy Banj' and he will drop his last find and go off to look for a better toy. He also knows how to find his 'pink toy'- his wubber :-P All of this in a yard trashed with toys and fluff and socks and skins haha The best thing Luda does is go all floppy whenever I try to move her especially at night when I try and move her down the end of the bed....She makes it just impossible by going all floppy haha So what is the best thing your dog does?
  11. I sometimes poke Banjie and get scared that he has stopped breathing as well lol! The scariest thing has been stressing about whether Luda is eating enough or I am starving her! I am still trying to convince myself that she is a whippet- she is supposed to be lean!
  12. I am always told that Luda is a mini greyhound lol Sometimes I get baby greyhound...
  13. My 2 spend 9-10 hours inside 5 days a week unfortunately. The older one hangs on but Luda still needs to go through that time so I leave a wee mat down for her. They get a rotation of toys and dinner in the morning and usually a bone. They are fine. Although I do come home sometimes to something I haven;t put away properly chewed. Toilet paper is their fave
  14. I only bathe the doglets when they get smelly... probably once a month or so. They sleep in my bed so im sorry but i have to give them more baths then is probably best
  15. In the bathtub...one at a time..... neither of them like it
  16. It was royal canin 'sensible' for 'fussy dogs up to 10kg' My other boy Banjie (mix breed) eats it as well and he certainly doesnt need higher fat content haha When I took Luda in to be desexed about 2 weeks ago the vet said Luda was in perfect shape for a whippet so I dont worry to much about that anymore and they get tons of chicken necks and lamb bones etc.
  17. So my dogs are fussy with their kibble.... Yesterday I went to petstock to get some Royal Canin to try after recommendations on here, I also picked up a sample pack of Nutro. The last bag of food I bought was the EP which they never ate. So for my experiment I put out a handful of all three all mixed up together (I could tell by the shape and colour which was which) then let my 2 fussies loose.... Royal Canin won hands down! they both went through and picked them up first, followed by the Nutro and the EP got left there! Boy it really stinks though! I thought the EP salmon one stunk but this is really something else haha Anyway I am glad I found something they like.
  18. I just always leave the door open so they can decide where they want to be.
  19. OT but I'll answer anyway - your nephew/neices don't live with you and don't depend on you personally for a stable upbringing of both mind and body. ETA: not bonding with a particular dog doesn't make you a bad person but you are a bad person if you never make that bond and keep the dog anyway. If there's no love then a suitable home should be found, it is, afterall, all about the well-being of the dog. sorry for going OT and yeah I agree..... OP just give it some more time
  20. Doesn't seem so strange. When I got Banjo it was love at first sight. With Luda while I always liked her I never felt like I had the connection and was even starting to dislike her a bit becuase she was very pushy with Banjo. Now she has chilled out and I have really connected with her and I love her (all this took 3 1/2 months) lol I dont feel like I love or have a connection with my nephew/ neices- does that make me a bad person? haha
  21. I dont know what it is. The rest of his fur is pretty thin and barely needs a brush so I am not sure if he has an undercoat? (if thats possible).... its really thik and long lol! no other part of him is like that... Coat king- is that like the furminator?
  22. So I dont really know how or when this happened but Banjo has this huge mass of strange frizzy hair from his bumb to his knees.... its really quite long... from the back it looks like he is wearing a grass skirt lol.. OH reckons we should cut it all off but I dont know... it doesnt seem to bother him and I have never noticed any 'dags' but with summer coming up and to make him not look so freaky maybe we should? What should we do? Below is a pic... you can see in the bottom right corner :-P Would this be a job for a proffesional or can I just cut it myself?

    Desexing

Luda was just desexed last Wednesday and honestly the whole process was just great.... I was nervous as well but just remeber this is a very routine op so unlikely anything is going to go wrong... I think he will be ok without the cone.... None of my family dogs or either of mine wore it and they were fine... Otherwise can you maybe leave him inside for a few days with a pee mat? Good luck anyway!
  24. Wow I have the exact problem with my girl who I got at 3 months and who was on raw before that. I usually feed EP holistic and Banjo likes it but Luda just wont eat it if she can help it. After this bag am looking to make a change... I have read a ton about Nutro so think I will try that.....hmmmm or maybe RC now.... which one is better for them to try first?
