    Puppy Coming!

are they moving out at all now? why not try to keep your one in your room and keep them serperate for a bit. if its only an extra week or something then just do that if its longer then you will have to eventually introduce them
  2. good luck in your hunt i just wanted to add thing is with pet insurance you still need the $$ upfront then you get it back (i have heard sometimes months after you put the paper work in)
  3. if he can go to the breeder then that would be my choice.
  4. hey why not have a look at kp pros website they have a distance program you can do. Im doing this with my boy when he gets here. after reading the sticky threads (in this section). i realized a few things that caused long term issues with my old dog which i dont want this time.
  5. I am a bit of a worry wort. my new pup comes in a few weeks and will be on a plan for about 3h's so im sure by the time he lands he is going to need to pee atleast. now my dilema, I live about 1h to the airport so do i just get him home asap. or take im for a tolet break before we get going. im worried about diseases etc mainly. so what did you do?
  6. i was just wondering what is the norm to how much you hear from your breeder? do you contact them much at all? or do they do all the contacting?
  7. LOL thats like my area Mind you a guy walked past with 2 griffions and nearly fell over when i said what they where. they are weird looking dogs LOL but cool. sounds funny but my samoyed will be rare in my area i have never seen one. I also took a neo masstif to the vet for my sis inlaw as a pup and got asked if it was a sharpei
  8. LOL man i forgot all this stuff AHHHH now im scared LOL what am i doing lets hope the white fluffy puppy has not been told about being this naughty
  9. yep i hate this also. i have been lucky i have had big dog where people are more wary so dont let there dogs near them. but my pup is going to be white and fluffy so will be a whole new ball game. I am one that is not keen of even other people coming up to my dog (as a pup and not fully vaccinated). after my fully vaccinated rotti got pavo im very worried about dogs catching things off people from patting others dogs then mine.
  10. my old boss is a great vet, she picked things up other vets did not. she is on south west highway the clinic is called silverson. she used to be extreamly well priced (i have not seen her in a while) and is very good
  11. hey come into the spitz thread there is a few akita owners on there they might be able to help you find a breeder
  12. very sorry to hear your puppy has crossed to the bridge. all the best in the decision you make. can't telly ou what to do but if you trust and like the lines of this breeder perhaps wait for the next litter 2 months does go fast It does go fast it just sucks I just dont knwo what my gut is saying thats all anyway I will think about it and will talk with fiance see what he thinks. im so sorry to hear about your pup, after reading steves post, I think that it was a very sad accident. i think 8 weeks will go so fast and sad as it is things happen for a reason. good luck and hugs xxxxxx
  13. hugs to you and the puppy buyer. rip little one, everything can change in a split second and i feel for your child. they would be feeling horrible right now. accidents happen unfortantly
  14. i wish that was an option for me LOL. there is only 2 breeders in wa for samoyeds and the price is nearly double to what i pay in the east (hence going east)
  15. awww super super cute, waiting is sooooo hard. mine is a samoyed i have no pics yet i have seen one with skype but til 6 to 8 weeks thats when the breeder takes a good look at them for the homes.
  16. what sort of pup are you getting?? mine new one will be 6 weeks on the weekend so only 2 weeks til he can come home and then its up to the plane gods LOL. we have narrowed names to Tsar, loopy and falcore so next week ill pay the last little bit off pup so as soon as he hits 8 weeks he can be on the plane
  17. my mate has one of these i did have a look for one and after getting basicly no replys from breeders and after talking to my mate about how she had the same and basicly had to wait a very long time and had to get a breeder in her crn to get any info or a look in with the breeders. i am like to hard basket but im glad now LOL im getting a white fluffy dog insted
  18. i just had another thought i wonder if they are worried if they get another dog the same thing will happen?? maybe this needs to also be discussed.
  19. i think they are really really in need to be told that the dog will probly wont be coming home. as harsh as it is they are never going to move past it. i would say to them look we will put posters etc up one more time. she will most likly never return. i think you and they need to move past it the chances of the dog returning are so so small and they are in denial. they need to greave and move past whats happened. after reading your last posts, i really think you need to let them see someone even the coucilar at school. its been 6 months they need to see and understand that and i think you need to get a little tough on them (i know im going to get shot for this comment) clearly you are all not ready for another dog but you need to get them talking and they need to get that the dog is not coming home. even hold a funeral sort of thing. its time for them to lern to move on from what is happened.
  20. We lost our rotti last nov less then 2 weeks after i had my baby. the kids never got to say good bye as he had fits and became aggressive when he came too. My oldest still asks questions and talks about him ALOT (he was with us before her) she miss's him but they do need to move on. i think letting the talk about it as much as they want is good even if they get upset. do you get another pup?? well thats up too you i think they will love it and it will help them move on a little (take there mind off it other dog) i think you should find the right breed for the family (i would not get the same breed as the missing dog) and bring a puppy home. once they see the pup i think it will change alot

    Bad Behaviour

my rotti did this til he turned 2, he used to rip them off and leave them at the door never chewed them. we tryed everything tying balloons full of water to the line everything and one day he just stoped. Can you fence it off?
  22. i really wonder if this person is here to stir the pot as this must be the most rediculous thing i have ever read. what dog is not going to jump off the coffee table. and who would leave the dog there are a safe place. common sence is needed.
  23. no not yet as pup is in vic and im in wa i have left it up to the breeder. as i want to show and i have no idea lol he and another breeder who i meet on here is going to help pick as well.
  24. hey salthegal, i think you will find 101 different opinions. i would reccomend reading above in the stickys and maybe looking at contacts k9pro. his approch made alot of sence to me and also gave me a light bulb moment of where i stuffed up with my old rotti when it came to socialization and that is why even with desexing (which the trainer and vet at the time told me would help with the problem) he was never good with other dogs. your pup is gorgess
