  4. I was just wondering if it's normal if a pup has a loose canine tooth for the gum around there to be very red and their face to be just a little swollen or is it always a sign that there is a problem? Puppy acting normal etc, he has had a tooth abscess on the other side when he was 10 weeks old, he was very very swollen and screaming in pain.

  9. I looked into vet nursing but decided if I am going to go back and study I may as well go the whole hog and study to be a vet. I need to do a chemistry and some other modules but I can only start studying in 2013 anyway as I will be a citizen by then.
  10. When my lab was younger he ate his bones pretty nicely and never had an issue, now he has started gulping them and chokes every time I give him one, the last bad incident was about 6 weeks ago and he nearly passed out from choking I had to stick my hand down his throat, couldn't find the bone but it must have moved in his throat as he started breathing ok after that. Tonight I decided to give him a flap, he chewed for a short while , swallowed and then started gagging but managed to get it down on his own. Now it looks like I am going to have to cut up lamb flaps for him ( he can't have chicken) but I would love him to be able to eat proper lamb necks and foo tails again without choking as I know they are good for him. Any suggestions ???
  11. Prada I got the Vetbasics from my local Petbarn. For me it was way too thick and she cried every time I put it on.Being a greyhound with thin skin and a big amount to cover it didn't suit us.May suit you. My boy has very thin skin on his under side and very sensitive to various things. Thick sunscreen would not suit. Could I use sunscreen that humans use? Is there really any difference? Perhaps I will go that way and give it ago and see. Has anyone else used human grade sunscreen on their dogs? Mason Gibbs I know you do how did you find it? I think It works well, twice my black lab got huge hotspots on his back which left a 10x 10 cm sq bare white patch on his back, sprayed him daily and no issues and he has a real sensitive skin

  18. I feed my dog mainly raw as he is just allergic to too many things to feed most kibbles
  19. Maybe go and see a dermatologist and discuss food intolerances with them they will help u work it all out
  20. My boy has a red tinge and hasn't ever been on Supercoat. He was on BH but I took him off as he got too many hot spots. He's now on Holisitc Select Fish but still red. I just assumed it was from spending a lot of time outdoors being naughty. My black boy gets hot spots too, wondering if it has something to do with the red coat...
  21. Not necessary. I have a black dog with a tinge in the coat which is not dead coat or sunburn. Kelp powder (iodine) helps bring the blackness back. My dog has the red tinge all year round but Is worse in summer.....
