  1. No worries,I had no trouble with either of mine chewing the portable one at all & my little girl is destructive. Just made sure they were really tried before putting them in it & give them a Kong or something to chew on till they fell asleep or at least settled.
  2. Same in our area Mason. Our vet said it is just too risky not to have all the vac's as Parvo is also really bad here as well. Retched thing that it is!! We don't live near any safe places either. Makes it hard, doesn't it? so I just used to take pup out in the car mainly till she was old enough.
  3. Hi BC Love, I have 2 crates for each of my BC's. A wire one to sleep of a night at home & a portable one for any other time, e.g. in the car or when we are caravaning e.t.c. Good luck with crate training Roy :D
  4. Both my BC's bark at me sometimes & it is very annoying. Like if I am playing with them, then I end the game one will bark right at me. I have tried a few things, I turn away with my back to them but that just made the little one go around me & then bark at me I grab hold of their muzzle & say 'quiet' in a gruff voice seems to work the best. But I too would love some other options. It gets frustrating.
  5. Thats a 'no' from me as well. I think it is just too risky to take a puppy that hasn't had all of his needles to a place where you know heaps of other dogs go.The pravo virus is a terrible thing & so highly contagious for many years apparently. It stays in the soil. Thats just one thing they can catch. I don't take my pups out on a lead till they are 16 week's & fully vaccinated. Just not worth the risk. But thats just me.
  6. Totally agree with you K9 Angel. 100% Love your girl Clyde, beautiful photo of her too & yes I reckon laston's last post was rude. Thought it was just me.
  7. Lashton, you said so yourself in your very first post that "You didn't want to get too bonded incase you had to give her to a new family. And this was what, 24hrs after you'd got her. Have you ever visited the Urgent Rescue section here on DOL? Seen how many staffies and staffy x's end up on death row in the pounds? Seriously, take a look. Maybe then you will see why some ppl here suggested you take her back to the breeder if you were unable to cope and already considering giving her away. We see too many beautiful dogs dying in pounds. And there probably are people on here that have nothing in there lives besides their dogs. That is not sad. Sometimes a dog is all you need and I am sure those people's lives are just as full and happy as your own. You'll understand One day ;) once you've had a dog in your life long enough to appreciate the love and joy they provide, and that feeling of completness they can bring to your life. Oh and I am glad to hear your little one is settling in. Wishing you all the best for the future. Couldn't agree with you more K9 angel.

  9. I use Exit Odour I find it works really well. Just mix a small amount in a bucket of water or watering can & splash it around or you can scrub with a broom if need be. No more smells. A bottle lasts forever as you only need a small amount. I buy it online, Catonam products. I think it is. I also put it in the final rinse when washing anything belonging to my 2 furry kids. Also when i am mopping the house I will put a dribble in the mop bucket. Hope it helps.
  10. I spend lots !!! & I love it !!! They are my furry kids. I wouldn't have it any other way. They want for nothing. And are loved to bits which is of course the most important thing.
  11. Oh thanks, I wasn't aware of that. Makes sense. I'm thinking thats a hell of a lot of protein.

  13. I haven't heard of Innova before. Is it holistic? It sure does do your head in trying to get it 'right', doesn't it? the more I read the more confused i am LOL
  14. Good on you thinking things through & putting you pup's best interests before your own. I 'm with you though. Being a special little one like yours he is going to need really special extra care/training. That takes time. Good luck! I think you have will do very well with him
  15. Yes, thats a good idea. if you want to get another littley maybe not a hearing impaired one would be a great option It might make it easier if you got an older pup that was already obedient then the little deaf one could follow his lead somewhat. Just a thought.
  16. Oh thats good all is well & good luck with the 'keeping quiet' bit
  17. Mine get a chic frame everyday as well as other goodies , which they love & certainly have no trouble demolishing them
  18. Poor baby, I hope they don't return him as they sometimes do. For the life of me I can't figure why Least he will have something yummy for his dinner tonight thanks to you. Hope they charge the lowlife.
  19. Hi, I have one of each & they are both BC's & both desexed. I was advised strongly against getting 2 males even if they were to be both desexed by various very reputable breeders. I had my heart on this beautiful male for a mate for Sonny but after this knowledge I brought home a little girl. They get on famously well together. Sonny wears the pants though & he is not a bossy boots by any means. Stella is very fiesty, but thats the way it has worked out here. Couldn't be happier. Was advised not to get 2 girls either as they are worse than the fellas apparently. I certainly didn't want to jeopardise Sonny's welfare or my relationship with him so I was very careful about who I invited into our home. My little girl is very closely breed to Sonny. From the same lines. Hope I have been of help & good luck with your quest. Oh, if you want to foster, thats great. Just got to be careful of their temp. I had a wonderful foster for almost 15 years, my heart dog he was but he had been so mistreated/abused i couldn't socialize him with other dogs, he would just rip them to sheds. I was the only one that could handle him & he hated men. Don't mean to deter you from foster at all. Sorry for the long winded post.
  20. YAAAAA !!! Great news. And a big thank you for being a kind / thoughtful animal lover.
  21. I was beside myself when my baby girl was desexed at 6 months of age.I really had myself worked up to a bit of a state. She was still just my baby girl. I was kept very busy that day while she was in the vets with my 3 year old BC boy who sulked all day cause his little girl had gone, so I was trying to cheer him up After all this worry, Stella sailed through the ordeal as if nothing had happened. Even when I picked her up & brought her home she was quiet for about 2 hours then she was up for a game of tugs. I was so emotionally drained I had a stiff or 3 & was in bed by 9pm LOL. The hardest part was trying to keep her relitively quiet. Good luck with your girl, I am sure she will be fine.
  22. I would jump the fence also and get the dog. Worse case scenario, Take it to the pound (especially if it is chipped) and put ur name down to save it or rescue it. I'm with you !!! ;)
