  1. I liked this video about the Pit Bull Kissing Booth - lol they are really in their element here :)
  2. Didn't anyone listen to their Mum's when they said "if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all". Great way to turn a possibly great thread into a 14 page shit fight about who is better than who and why APBT's are big evil monsters  ... Gussy's Mum, Nala was so adorable when she was a baby and every time I see the picture of her with the ducklings it brings a smile to my face :) OP, its great to hear your little cav had such fun playing with the other dogs. I honestly didn't see anything wrong with how the dogs were playing - to me (as someone else said) the APBT looked like he was trying to join in best he could but was unsure how to play with such a little dog! But what do I know... really....
  3. Hahaha :) Don't get AmStaffies if... 1. You don't like when dogs lick 2. Definitely don't like farting/burping 3. You want to play/practice any sport that involves a ball (I was just shooting netball in my front yard and Harley was very helpful... If trying to pop my ball is helpful! Lol 4. You want to keep your house clean and leave things around, Bella likes to steal everything! 5. You don't like short spikey hairs in everything you own 6. If you like using the hose without watching dog acrobatics 7. If you don't want dogs that think you are part of the chair 8. Don't like being given consistent attention/affection/love 9. Are a worry wart! Lol recently there have been dog thefts in my area so I am paranoid about everyone at the moment! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. That's a really good idea! I've got two bed destroyers that have to sleep on fleecy blankets and sheets on the floor at the moment! I would much prefer them up off the ground a little! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. First thing I thought when I seen him was GSD cross Staffy! What a cutie! :)
  6. This is what I will be doing with Harley as soon as I have some spare cash! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Mine get Nature's Gift tinned too on nights when there are no chicken frames or appropriate leftovers. It's the only canned food I'll give them. For some reason dog rolls freak me out. I seen on one forum somewhere that someone once found a plastic bag in their dog roll. I use to feed Harley natures gift when he was a puppy, it use to give him the worst farts though. I stopped after once at puppy school he let one rip and everyone was mortified!
  8. I feed my dogs chum, not very good but it's all they will eat. I tried Kangaroo mince, VIP dog roll, premium dog roll. They turn their nose up at all of it. They do like dog mince though but I only buy that every so often. They have about two spoon fulls at dinner time with their biscuits - which are premium.
  9. Bella will stick her head on my lap and knock out the USB stick for the internet, that's just when she wants to snuggle though!
  10. Lol I love the action shots! What is it with dogs and bubbles, my two go metal when ever I bring them out! One of my favourites is of Bella giving Harley the biggest stink eye because he was in her spot and getting ear scratches while she was pushed to the end of the lounge. Made for one unhappy little miss.
  11. I think people get them because they are cheap (due to the availability(thanks BYB's)) or they get the on a whim with out really thinking about what is involved and the costs etc. Once the cute puppy stage is done the dog is put in the back yard until the people get sick of them then surrender them to the pound/shelters. When I was a vollie at the RSPCA the most typical breeds of dog we would have in were working dogs (cattle, kelpie), a fair few grey hounds and then with puppies lots of bull arab mixes. Staffies generally were adopted pretty quickly.
  12. I go to kmart for most of out toys. They are normally around $3.00 each. My dogs have the wonderful ability to be able to destroy a regular ball in one bite but Kmart sell these rubber balls with a bell in the middle and I've had two for about 4 months now... still going hard. Harley's favourite toys are balls, Bella likes anything Harley has or squeaky toys!
  13. We did it ourselves. It was way cheaper than paying someone. I think all together one side has cost about 400 or so dollars. Our property backs on to cattle grazing land and we have a barbed wire fence, dog mesh and another chain link type over the top. I think mostly to keep dogs in and wild dogs out.
  14. We have just got star pickets and dog mesh. The rolls of wire were $250.00 for 100m and 1.42m high (one of my dogs could jump over the standard height) so it does get costly. I'm on an acre and a quarter. We are going to put up a nice front fence though eventually! The picture is the fence line we have just replaced. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. When I was a vollie at a shelter there was a beautiful pair of dogs surrendered together because the owner's broke up and neither wanted them. I use to see a lot of "Moving Houses", "Escapes", "No Time". It's pretty sad, the only time I would give my dogs up is if I could no longer provide the quality of life they deserve, otherwise I would go without to make sure they are well fed and looked after.
  16. You've actually got to get it to the owner though. And I would say the owner would be taking recommendations from the property manager as they are the professionals ;). The last house we rented the owner wasn't 100% sure how many dogs we actually had until we met him and he asked. He was very anal about everything to do with the house too. And it all depends on the PM as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I've found that age has been the deciding factor when you have two great applicants, not dogs. When I was renting I would only ever look at place that stated pets were negotiable. I only lived in two rentals with our pets, we never did resumes or any of that stuff. We did take Bella when she was an adorable little puppy to one inspection though and once we had a rapport with the property manager ended up getting a beautiful house through them. I suppose if the rental market is tough at the moment, a resume may be helpful. But honestly I will going to be doing a property managers course soon and the deciding factor for me in picking people would be the tenants ability to look after the house and pay rent on time. 18. I think it's great! It gives people a chance to see where there money goes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. My dogs hate getting their nails done, it is simply impossible for me to do. I prefer just to take them to the vets. We discovered with one of our dogs that when we went to lie her down to do it she would struggle like crazy (the vet couldn't even control her and she is only 19kg) but once I left the room he had her laying down calm, not stressed at all and had it done within 2 minutes. Apparently she didn't like being down while I was around because she couldn't do her job of protecting me (she is a staffy). Professionals are the best option for my dogs.
  21. For God's sake some dogs hate cats, some greyhounds hate cats and you know what, some are fine with cats This is my recently deceased boy Piper who never met a cat until he was 18 months old As I have said a few times now... it's from my past experience. My dogs hate cats too and would probably destroy one in seconds if given the chance... someone mentioned they didn't think greyhounds would be good with cats and I agreed. Obviously personal opinions are not wanted around here... Good luck picking your future dog Ozone.
  22. As I said, I am going off of MY past experiences with the breed.
  23. I am sure some of them can. I am just going off of my experience with the breed.
  24. I think they would require a little more than a half hour walk a day... I use to help walk racing grey hounds and they hated cats... probably not the best idea. What about a Bull Mastiff? from my experience they are pretty laid back dogs (correct me if I am wrong someone ;) )
