Haha cheers!

I had a goldfish called Mum for a couple of years. It's not a great idea to go to school and tell your friends that "mum died but I'm getting a new one"
-
I suggested flynetting her entire yard or putting dog-safe fly repellent on her but she eats them as well. Not sure, a few months at least.

My friend has a lab that has been losing hair and showing allergy signs for a while and all the regular tests have turned up negative. So she recently took her to get a full allergy screen done and it has come back that she's highly allergic to moths. She now has to go through desensitizing vaccines to fix it. Now my questions are, what weird allergies does your dog have and she needs suggestions on keeping her dog away from moths.

Haha! you're onto something

And dogs named Lucky are never that lol

If you're really interested ask for his phone number and call and talk. But it seems to be a scam.
-
His name is connected to a lot of scam emails, I'd stop emailing and look elsewhere

I met a dog the other day called "Straya" (short for Australia, as they adopted him on Australia day.) They'd called him "chester" at the rescue and when they found out his name they looked really disappointed. lol
-
That's actually my name. And no, I wouldn't call a dog Dora, apart from the fact I don't like the name I would find it a bit weird personally, but each to their own. I also had a friend name her pup Aurelie, which also happens to be the name of a mutual friend of ours. Human Aurelie thought it a bit strange, and so do I. Don't think they're friends anymore. Was listening to the radio the other day, a guy called and you could hear a dog yapping in the background. The radio presenters asked what the dog's name was.....it was DogDog. I prefer unusual names, but it does get a little tiring having to repeat your dog's name over and over to other people. MUP, I love the name Maybe! Haha thank you! I was out at my friend's farm the other day and they had a visitor and I was calling her back off the sheep. "Maybe, here!" "Maybe, Here" and he's just looked over and gone "Well make up your bloody mind!". I hear variations of that a lot lol

Apart from the great advice above if you haven't desexed I would be doing that straight away with your older girl.
-
I tried and it was super dark . I might have to take it into the shop and see if they can make it happen.
-
I guess I can't talk. I have a dog called Maybe because I couldn't decide what to call her and wasn't sure I'd get her

Snap, Stan's Mum. I never thought about what it rhymed with either . Agree. I'm not sure I mind the "crappy working dogs names", though. Look at the favourite names of human boys and girls. Something I'll never understand why a name becomes fashionable. Fancy having half the class with the same name as yours Each to her own though. Just how I feel. I suppose after being around working dogs for so long and nearly every female is Tilly, Meg or Kate and every male is Tim, Max or Tex...you kinds get sick of it lol. I've met some dogs with cool working names like Rev, Fluke, Edge and Babs. They're a bit different.
-
I hate D-fa and stuff like that. I also hate Mac, Meg, Tex and crappy working dog names like that.

Decided to take some photos whilst working the dogs. Just a bit of yard work today, mostly puppy training but Maybe and Torque had a go as well.

Lost Cows In The Hawkesbury Area
mixeduppup replied to ShadesOfGrey's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
So glad you got them back! We had 3 or 4 feral cows living in the national park near where I used to live, very ocassionally we'd see them on our horse rides. Green ear tags suggesting at one stage they belonged to someone. Glad yours got found. -
Happy birthday, Mr Cute!

I met someone who rescued an 'oodle' from the pound and was so against puppy farming and then went and bred this dog! I've never come across a rescue that does it but I'm sure they're out there.

Don't know much about that. Aren't they in full support of banning petshops from selling all animals, even goldfish? Or is that another group? I still don't know! They wouldn't answer my questions, just got all huffy and angry and stormed off. Their petition had nothing on it to indicate what was actually written within their 'Oscar's Law' proposal. Just that you supported Oscar's Law. Couldn't even tell me where I could go to find out what it actually entailed. They had websites, but I couldn't find a thing that looked like a piece of proposed legislation, just a whole lot of stuff about the evils of puppy farms. And nothing to differentiate between a puppy farm and a responsible breeder. They might have something now...I don't know, haven't looked any further. I've been warned off Oscar's law by many people I trust. I've decided not to touch it.
-
That's right. I didn't bother telling them that I also own rescued working dogs. I do all I can in my community with every breed of dog I come across that needs help and I have to say I rarely see a working kelpie in my local pound that doesn't get reclaimed or adopted pretty much immediately. They have such a narrow view of the world. It saddens me.

Your point is extremely valid! My friend joined the group, wrote "dogs are delicious" and promptly got deleted. Apparently that was his form of support.
-
Yeah, I joined as it looked OK and forgot I'd joined and commented on a rescue thing and then the claws came out. PETA hides everywhere, they seem like regular people at first.
