  1. Weibritty - Clay is so stunning! How old is he now? You must be very proud of him, doing so well with his obedience and now retrieving as well. tlc - I need to employ your services to teach me how to get a decent shot of 4 dogs in one, I don't know how you do it!!!! Extra pic from me this week again, hope no one minds, this is the first shot I have of all four of them. It's grainy (thanks to my crappy lens and low light), its blurry and not focused well (thanks to me) but it's the best one I've got! From left to right - Cookie, Oreo, Salt & Athena, being walked by my Mum and my OH IMG_6972.jpg by Gertrude139, on Flickr
  2. Impatiens - Harvey makes a very cute Easter bunny, the pastel flowers go very well with his pink ears and bow tlc - the first shot, they all have such big smiles on their faces, looks like a great location there 14/52 - Shazam! (rescue) Shazam! by Gertrude139, on Flickr
  3. Chezy, if by chance it is too small for your friends girl I would love to try it out on my foster. She is a samoyed so I think she would suit a medium, but if your friend ends up not using I would take it and could pass it on to another in need if it doesn't fit mine.
  4. salukibel - That beanie suits Bella so well! So cute and so is her collar, the detail on it is so pretty tlc - Easter photos are so good! I didn't realise Coopers ears were on backwards until you said so and I had to go and look again. Great head tilts too. hankdog - Wow you can totally see how much Jake loves your son (and his sandwich) he is so focused on him, adorable Impatiens - What a lovely bushwalking area, Harvey is posing very well, he looks very happy. Weibritty - Congrats Clay on 1st place! Must be all the obedience club training that got him to sit so angelically with his bunny ears on, what a good puppy. 13/52 More cheating from me with 2 photos this week :) Cookie (foster with rescue) Cookie by Gertrude139, on Flickr Oreo (foster with rescue) Oreo by Gertrude139, on Flickr We also went bush walking this week, Cookie and Oreo looooved it. Very tuckered out afterwards.
  5. Yes, I am totally in love with Sakura, her personality is just as gorgeous as her looks Only thing is she likes water... A lot. Hard to get a photo of her without being absolutely drenched! The wonderful Jen Martin came to do her profile shots for us and they are truly stunning! I made sure to keep her away from any large bodies of water that morning :) Hope it's ok, I will do an update of the rescues I have posted in here so far. Week 1 Shyla is on trial in Perth, she will be trained for sledding when she is old enough Week 6 Braxton found a foster home today which is great as he can start shedding some of those extra kilos Week 7 Tahoe has officially been adopted by a family in Perth, she will also have a go at sledding Week 9 Cookie, and her friend/relative Oreo (husky x samoyed) have stolen the heart of my Mum so they are coming to my place (I live in the granny flat attached to my Mum's place) to be fostered until we find their forever home. They cannot be separated as they are very bonded to each other, Cookie is very afraid of people and looks to Oreo for reassurance. We have made some amazing progress with Cookie since she has come into care but she really needs a home environment to shine. I'm just a bit over the moon that Mum decided to foster them :) I'm glad you like my rescue shots Esky, I feel like I'm breaking the rules with them since it's supposed to be the same dog for every week, but I really like having the challenge of capturing all their different quirks, it is definitely helping me learn which is one of the main reasons I challenged myself to do 52 weeks.
  6. Eek! Also falling behind as I was away for a week. Photos were taken in the correct week, I just didn't get time to post them. 11/52 Sakura (rescue) Sakura by Gertrude139, on Flickr 12/52 Spirit (rescue) Spirit by Gertrude139, on Flickr Both Sakura and Spirit have crazy ears! Sakura usually has one floppy one but Spirit's ears are just all over the place all the time, she can hold them up if she wants too but usually she just lets them go where they want to  salukibel - great expression in those photos, Bella looks very happy to be exploring tlc - when my two are tired all I get is closed eyes and tongues hanging out, can you teach mine to do this well behaved thing? It would be very useful :) hankdog - WOW I had no idea how broad chested Jake is, great portrait shot of him, beautiful smile too Weibritty - Nawww look at Clay's face, surely he didn't do anything naughty? Unfortunately I have a shredder too, it's never neatly unrolled like the Cottonelle adds imply. Impatiens - I think week 11 is my favourite of Harvey so far
  7. I couldn't get on the PRB page for about 5 mins but it seems to be working fine now.
  8. I think Chief Nutter is 3rd from the left, hiding under her trademark hat.
  9. 10/52 - Blaze (rescue) Blaze by Gertrude139, on Flickr tlc - love the one of them all on the log, great shot helen - Tilly really is a very pretty girl, love the soft tones of the photo
  10. Glenn Cooke is definitely with Pet Resorts/Canine Evolution, he has been highly recommend by a number of people I know. Not necessarily for B+T but for day training sessions and temp assesments.
  11. I was going to enter but I have stuffed my ankle. Still interested to do the ET in the future though and I would like to do some biking with the dogs for general fitness for me and them anyway once my ankle can cope. I had been trying to think of places we could train at. I would be happy to meet up for some practice together in the future! I would have thought the showground was a bit small? End up going round in circles but that might be a good place to start for small distances, thank you. It also always seems so busy! Might have to try that once they are better at not getting distracted, there is always lots of excitement at left over food scraps from the markets. Sorry for hijacking jilldog.
  12. Rouse Hill Regional is a great idea. Rumour have you found the Windsor Rd one wide enough? I worry with a dog next to me if there are people coming the other way there won't be enough room.
  13. Are you allowed to bike with dogs on the M7 bike path? I know you can walk dogs, I can't find anywhere on the website that says you can't bike dogs only that they have to be on leash at all times. If your dog would be ok on the bike path surface maybe you can look into it further?
  14. Weibritty - Congrats Clay! hankdog - Happy 1st gotcha day Jake! It was Athena's first birthday on Thursday, she also did not enjoy her hat so much... 1stbday by Gertrude139, on Flickr Cookie is a samoyed :) the rescues I take photos of are from Arctic Breed Rescue. Mostly huskies and malamutes and their crosses, but every now and again there is a samoyed needing help. She had her professional grooming session today and is looking (mostly) white and fluffy, she must have lost about 10kg of matted fur Impatiens - Harvey looks like "oh no I know what new camera means" He's so cute. tlc - nice beach area! I bet your 4 had a great time there.
  15. Impatiens - love the framing and the contrast between Harvey's black and the bright yellow helen - That is so clever! I would have no idea how to do that... or even if my camera can do that! Weibritty - Clay is adorable. Love the black and white, really suits the image, it has a very vintage look about it salukibel - love Bella's intent look, she must have seen something very interesting. Looks like a great place to go for long walks tlc - Cooper was such a good boy staying where he was told for so long. In the last one it looks like he is saying "hey guys wait for me". Your outtakes always make me actually laugh out loud, I love the last one here, obviously you were out of treats by this stage  9/52 - Cookie (rescue) Cookie by Gertrude139, on Flickr Cookie came into care on Thursday and we started what is probably her first grooming session ever today. She is very scared at the moment but was such a good girl, letting us get out most of the matting on her back and sides. This photo was taken before we started on her, you can see how bad her underside is I love this photo because she has such a happy smile on her face and she looooves doing zoomies.
  16. I used Cheeky pup at Baulkham Hills and would highly recommend Dorothy, she was excellent. I actually got her to pet sit while I was away for a week recently and she really went above and beyond. I would recommend Box Hill Vets but that is probably too far from you. I go there even though it takes me 20-25 mins to get there. Cannot speak highly enough of them.
  17. 8/52 - Athena Unfortunately we were stuck inside most of the weekend due to rain again so just an iPhone snap from me. Athena's reflection in the fish tank whilst she was looking out the window at the outside world. IMG_1289.jpg by Gertrude139, on Flickr
  18. Yep my girl puts her paw on the bowl to stop it moving around. Not sure if my boy would do it or not, I bought him a bowl with rubber on the bottom so it doesn't move around. When I give them a treat when out at a cafe with them they always hold the treat between their paws to eat it whilst lying down, people often ask me if I have taught them to do that. I think it just comes naturally to them. It is very cute.
  19. I paid $27 for one when my girl was spayed, it lasted all of 4 days until there was no more plastic left to gaffa tape... litterly I'm not joking she tore the thing to shreds. I wouldn't bother with it. None of the rescues I deal with get the collars and none of them have ripped their stiches out yet.
  20. You might find this topic useful. After reading it I decided to try Augustine's. I had just adopted a dog who was very underweight and was a very fussy eater. I couldn't get him interested in food and couldn't afford for him to lose any more weight. His coat condition was shocking from malnutrition as well. I bought the superboost to try in the hopes that even if he only had a tiny bit at least he would get nutrients. He loved it from day one, when I started feeding it I used the adult recipe and mixed it into beef mince, after a few meals of this he actually wanted to try other foods as well which he previously wouldn't. I didn't feed it for every meal but alternated with chicken frames and necks and lamb or beef bones. It really seemed to kick start his weight gain and his coat is very thick and plush now. It's not something I can afford all the time but I will continue to feed it every now and then. He really likes it and I do believe it contributed a lot to his rapid improvement and current great condition. I feed a raw diet but neither of my dogs like the taste of offal so I often use the superfood recipe and add in offal to mask the taste. I also like to change it up a bit so sometimes I substitute the coconut oil for an egg, tuna or sardines.
  21. ktig - I hope the in the new car shot was after the wash shot! Great breeze snuffling shot, I love the contrast in that between the long haired muzzle and the short hair on his neck. Impatiens - Harvey looks in his element there, very content with himself, what a great smile. Weibritty - Clay looks to be growing fast, he is very stunning, I love the little paw in the bottom left of the photo, so cute. helen - Tilly is so beautiful, looks like she really enjoys the beach salukibel - I think the colours are great as well. Looks like Bella has picked a comfy spot to lie down. I won't be taking any photos of blankets in my house... too much fur not of the blanket variety stuck to them... dogfan - Abbey seems to be dealing with the heat much better than my two who would be sprawled in front of the air con or would have dug themselves a giant husky hole in the backyard to keep cool in. Hope it's cooling down where you are. hankdog - how cute is Jake upside down!!! He has Frenchie ears in that pic
  22. Raw onion seems to be a big no-no, but cooked onion seems to be debatable. If they get a bit of cooked onion I'm not worried but I would never go out of my way to feed it.
  23. My thoughts were along the same line as Zeebie's maybe she was meaning more ingrained bad habits rather than training in a positive sense.
  24. I can see a post from Saturday which is still claiming Ratsak, what she can't keep straight is who was poisoned. Originally it was 2 dogs, one being Delta (female) but apparently the poisoned dogs were "bleeding from their little mens bits profusely"
