  1. so you would go with the Nobivac? no idea, i have asked 3 different vets about it, all around the same price, or heaps more. None here are interested in it at all :p
  2. i do, but only when i am broke and cant afford another bag of the good stuff makes it last longer. I dont have any health issues though
  3. thanks, my $13 one is almost dead need a new one!
  4. being older, i would prob do Canine cough, but nothing more
  5. How bout stupid ! I went to check out a obedience club, asked one of the senior trainers what vacc my dog had to have to attend, she said C5. I told her my dog had only had a C3, so i'd have to take him back to the vet for KC. she told me C3 is useless, he'd have to have a C5. When i told her that he only needed to have KC, she wanted to tell me i was wrong some vets C5 are different... one of the vets here, there C5 does NOT include canine cough, you have to have a C7 to get it! Where as most have C3 (hep, distemper and parvo) and the Canine Cough (parahoweveryouspellit and Bordetella) And i agree Dogcop, i dont want to vaccinate my dogs, but i cant afford the $200 + that the vets here charge for titre testing, if it was an option, i would do it.
  6. ok, talked to a lady at this vet (sorry, didnt catch her name) she said that they have been seeing a lot of reactions from vaccinations over the last few months, more so than normal, but not the 3 yearly one (but if they are both the same....?) She said it isnt breed specific and that they dont like doing the 3 year one because (as my vets have said) a lot of people will just come in every 3 years and that the dogs should be checked out every year. At least with the yearly ones they will get a 12 monthly check up. I think i am still going to go ahead with it, still got a few months so have time to think!
  7. my kennels take the 3 year one, but you do have to be up to date on canine cough
  8. ok, ended up going to vets, he has split a bit of it open, but vet said not enough to worry about, it has all dried up and is ok, he is booked in monday to get them removed (she booked him into seeing the other vet, they all know how much of a pain he is with his feet and is a handful when he goes in and gets anything done, so she gave it to the other vet - I would have done the same thing! ) Checked doodle out, and all is ok, a bit sore, she told me what to do if it comes out again, and said dont worry about giving them a call if i need help - told her it wont happen again! (fingers crossed) Said years and years ago she had a dog come in, his came out and was out for way too long, they had to cut it off and give him a new hole to pee out of poor dog she was surprised that i wasnt embarrassed or anything about talking about it, or doing what needed to be done
  9. The vets will only put them on antibiotics for secondary infections. Only time i took my dogs to the vet was when Kaos lost a heap of weight and was looking really sick, the other few times i just let them ride it out. If you do go, remember to leave them in the car and go in yourself, some vets dont like dogs with Canine Cough inside the office because of how easily it spreads.
  10. No, not kissing it better It didnt worry me at all fixing it, mum went off her head and told me i should have gone to the vets that i shouldnt touch that I work with dogs all day every day, takes a lot more than that to embarrass me (or him ) He is still in bed, so havent had a chance to check his leg out yet. Im over dogs!
  11. who would have them Will see what happens tomorrow, his doodle is very very sore too *sigh*
  12. he had a lump removed, just put a bandage around it, had a look and it is very red (i was out since 4pm, he did have the bucket on but managed to take it off, but has shown no sign of licking/chewing, it was fine this morning) Will see what it is like tomorrow and will go back to the vets if needed. ARGH!!
  13. thanks guys! It was only the end bit, i pinned him and rolled him over and it managed to fix itself, should i put something on it now or just leave it? I always sit here and laugh at people who post about it then when it happened, im like, crap i should pay attention, not laugh Is it something that is likely to happen again? He also managed to bust his staples on his leg!! ARGH, only 2 of them, bleeding a bit, but not tooo bad, will wait and see what it looks like in the morning
  14. looks like everything is sucked in, poor man have to go find muzzle and will try to help him! bloody boy dogs (
  15. Just got home, At is very sore and not himself, checked him out, seems he got a bit too excited and is now stuck. Read threads, cant remember what to do - doesnt worry me doing what needs to be done, but what is it? HELP!!
  16. I had Atlas, 18 month old Bull Terrier when i got Kaos, 4 month old Staffy. I put them in the yard together, she had a go at him, (Dog aggressive) he pinned her and since she has been scared of him i crated her when i was at work for a few weeks, had someone come over a few times to let her out, it only took a few weeks for me to trust them to be in the yard together all the time. Play wise, they were both pretty full on, i would jump in if i thought it was too rough (even now i will, tho they dont play as hard as they used to! they are 6 and 4 now). My neighbours have told me they dont play much during the day, it is only when i am home that they play, neighbour did ring once saying they were killing each other.. but it was only kaos talking (we all know how loud staffs can be when they play!!) Good luck with them!
  17. thanks guys. Still have a dog on offer.. free to good home... then i can afford to worm the one i keep :happydance:
  18. bugger i get the medium one i think? I know At gets 1 tablet and Kaos gets 1/2. Damn, i was paying $40! Anyone want a dog?
  19. Thanks stormie! i am interested to! can i ask you to PM me their details? Would love to have a talk to them - I am thinking of getting my bull terrier done with it next month
  20. I just had a look at a few sites, is $60 - 70ish the price you will pay for these everywhere? I did have a vet friend who was doing mates rates for me, but situations have changed and i cant get them through him anymore. so i have no idea what the 'normal' price for them are!! thanks
  21. I always get the bitey end *sigh* even at work if we need to medicate a dog or bath it or something, me gets the head, its not fair No not a fresh poster. I am almost worn out and need to get to the bakery for tomorrows orders im just amazed you got another 13 pages since i read last night... we need more public holidays i think.
  22. I got home from work, wet, freezing cold, this thread is just what i needed thanks everyone!! I always get the bitey end *sigh* even at work if we need to medicate a dog or bath it or something, me gets the head, its not fair
  23. Kaos reverse sneezes when excited, everyone around he panics She gets over it soon enough
  24. Of course they got charged Sunday rate? Why wouldn't they have been charged? I charge my clients extra if i have to do more visits due to the animal being sick and needing to go to the vets, as well as emergency calls, i was called out at 11pm on Christmas eve one night, why would i not charge for after hours care? (im a pet sitter) I also charge for travel. This thread is going nowhere.
