  1. AT took 2 weeks to get over his operation, he is a shit of a dog when in pain, so was sedated as often as i could. The vets really stuffed him around before the operation and he now has a fear about vets and his feet BUT. Best thing i ever did, i will be requesting all future dogs to have theirs removed.
  2. Hi, my boy had his removed about 2 years ago. The only time i have seen him have a problem was when he was first eating bones after the operation, and also scratching his face He is a lazy dog, and doesnt do much at all, someone else may have more info for you for an active dog
  3. I take mine to work for the boss to do, $10 for nail clips, i cant be bothered with the stress for $10!

    Outside Puppy

why would you suggest one animal over another? Cats need just as much love and attention as a dog does... my Kitten needs more attention that my Staffy needs. I would also not suggest letting a cat outside. OP. I grew up with outside dogs, a staffy and a cattle dog, my SIL also has a staffy that is outside during the day, but sleeps inside (in the kitchen) at night, unless it is warmish (dog rather be outside) all dogs are find and coped well, BUT they had a LOT of attention, we were a family that spent 99% of our time outside, summer or winter, all dogs had/have fantastic kennel set ups that keep then nice and warm. Staffys seem to feel the cold a lot too. It is your choice to keep the dog outside, but nothing beats having a dog in the house as part of the family Staffys are the best kids dogs. My niece sneaks her staffy up to bed most nights, only to have her mum come in yelling to take him back downstairs. the dog just lays under her covers and pretends he isnt there
  8. Kaos has weed a whole 4 times in 4 years out of her own yard She can hold on for hours and hours, when i moved to WA she held on all day, till we got to the place we were staying out that night, then go. On the way home we only had one place where i could let her off lead (thanks Eza!) and she peed there, she held on over 24 hours till we made it home to go again. She suffered a horrible UTI from that trip. She wont go in her crate (i wouldnt have cared if she did, she was so sick from the UTI i would be ok with her going in the crate), she wont go on anything but grass, and off lead only. I try to make sure there is no need for her to be away for many hours anymore, when she is at the kennels the girls get her out first thing in the morning and last before they lock up at night, she drives me mad. Oh,she has also never pooed on lead, but will go in the house
  9. I taught kaos to bark, it did stop her a bit, she sitll chats to me, but not as bad as she used to be! I do command her to speak a few times a day and reward her for it, but if i dont ask for it she gets ignored. I can have a whole conversation with her most of the time it doenst annoy me, but when im tired it can drive you up the wall!!
  10. Kaos was taught this in one day. she knew how to drop and loved tummy rubs, so i would drop her, and roll her and give a little rub, she soon worked out i was offering tummy rubs, once she was doing the action, i added the word Bang. She now hits the floor so hard when i say bang!
  11. I have to clean a bullies ear once a week, she HATES it I stand over her, and put my legs either side of her rib cage, she is STRONG so you need to hold on tight, i then grab her muzzle and tip her head to the side. I find doing the first ear is easy, it is when you need to do the second one she goes crazy
  12. Its ok! I would have done the same first time around if i wasnt with a dog person who had seen it before!
  13. I believe the dog does have to have a small check over, because if they are sick and have a temp, they can not be vaccinated.
  14. At my work, as long as their is proof the dog has been vaccinated and it has just run out, we are happy to take them and get them done (same day they check in) Could the cheaper vet be because they are already there? and they can just jump out when they are free and give the dogs the needle? Where the other has to take time out of their day to fit you in?
  15. I have used it for hair regrowth. Few years ago Atlas got a bald patch on his tail, he also he a clip mark from an operation. Neither were growing back. Within 2 weeks of putting ACV in his water it was growing back, his coat also looks amazing when he is on it!
  16. Just did a bit of a search and some of the links are outdated (EDBA and afew others i found) Just wondering if anyone has some good links to sites that explain BSL ? I realised that i have nothing on my webpage about it and would like to get something up. Thought i could just add some links, would like a write up on the page before the links, but am not clever enough to write anything myself Would rather Australia sites, but ok with GOOD Overseas ones thanks!
  17. That poor dog Is it too late to send emails? I only just saw this Sad thing is, as much as i would want to fight for my dogs, if i knew they would be kept like that, i would rather them PTS
  18. Atlas has, on a big bone, a bit broke off and got stuck in his mouth, rush to the vets to get it removed right now, he has a wad of toilet paper stuck on his teeth and wont let me save him
  19. and anti bios!! I have only taken my dogs to the vets for CC once, that was when kaos lost a heap of weight and couldnt keep food down. the other few times i just let them go, they get over it Hope your guys are feeling better oh, i also kept kaos with Atlas when only she got it, figure if he was going to get it, he is going to get it, so didnt owrry about it!
  20. My Kaos gets 2 cups of Active Nutrience dry food and fresh meat, she also gets bones most days, but has a bad tooth so has been off them for a little while, till it comes out later in the week!
