  2. Hey guys and Gals :p This has only happened lately and I bit unsure what I can do (I want to get on top of it ASAP) Bailey had a seizure about 8 weeks ago and the next morning after he came out of it he was still quite confused and got up and cocked his leg on the xmas tree He was quickly told off, put out and then peed outside. I just put it down to the seizure at the time and didn't think anymore of it at the time (he had never peed inside before that) Since then when we are out he has cocked his leg on a lounge chair and then at the pet shop today. At the pet shop he didn't even sniff, he just proceeded to cock his leg both times he was told off, and both times he just looked at me with a blank look. It is so out of character for him and I don't want it to become a habit. Has anyone got any ideas of why he could be doing it and/or what I can do? Thanks in advance
  3. I'm sorry to hear about your back  I use the Infin8 halter on Bailey and although he doesn't like it I haven't got the trouble with him lunging like he does on a normal collar. I had tried the Halti, the BD Halter and the gentle leader, he HATED all of them. I keep the nose section on the loosest setting and it only puts slight pressure if he really pulls but otherwise stays fairly loose on him. Good luck with whatever you decide
  4. I second Nekhbet. Bailey had those exact signs and he had Intersusseption, they couldn't tell until they opened him up (even the xray was inconclusive) Fingers and paws crossed for her
  5. I either use dried liver, cheese or salami for Bailey and either dried liver or Eagle Pack kibble for Keesha.

  7. I have the Blackdog medium one as well and I love it too. The only problem I had with it was the hinge on the inside would occasionally scratch my hand, but once I put the additional sock that you can buy for it in their I had no more problems Edited to add I found an Ebay site that has the Gentle Leader ones here

  10. Thanks for the advice ;) I got the rake and the knot remover and spent a day grooming her, now coat has now come up like new JulesP I will cut down the conditioner an see if that helps too
  11. centitout he is gorgeous Kees are adorable dogs. Goodluck with your boy I'm sure you'll have it all sorted in no time Bub I think some dogs just like to be smelly, Keesha being one of them
  12. Thanks again Rysup I will order them tomorrow I can't wait until her coat looks normal again
  13. Thanks for your replies Thanks for the info Rysup, I will have to get a rake. I use the slicker and the pin brush usually but they are not helping at the moment. Can I ask what brand & type of rake you use?
  14. My dogs get Eaglepack Holistic fish with fresh turkey necks, marrow bones, yoghurt, fresh veges and the occasional tin of sardines
  15. Hi there :p I am having trouble with Keesha's coat at the moment. No matter how much I brush and use the dog dryer her coat the undercoat (especially her ruff and her pants) are sticking together like velcro. It is similar to when she had her puppy coat. I use Aloveen shampoo (because of her skin) and I use a bit of Aloveen conditioner and Laser Lites protien as a leave on conditioner. What would you recommend that I use for her coat? She looks terrible 5 minutes after I have groomed her Thanks in advance
  16. My First 2 Kees were very clean but after having Keesha I can totally relate. Keesha was like that until she was about 6 months old She would even pee and poo on her bed, rather than go out : I swear she would hold it in when she was outside only to pee as soon as she got in the door, she drove the whole family crazy. I did similar to what dogmad has posted I would carry her fav treats and her rag bone around with me and before and after eating take her outside and keep saying "toilet" (you can use whatever word you want) , it took a long while to start with but once she got what I was saying went, I would feed her the treats and play with her using the rag bone for a couple of minutes while saying "good toilet" "good toilet" I swear the neighbors must have thought that I was a nutter Keesha soon worked out that it was much more "fun" to bark at the door and go out to the toilet than do it outside. Goodluck with the toilet training :p I would love to see some pics

    Crates

It is totally up to you, you can put what ever you like in the bottom of the crate Alot of people put old blankets in the bottom of the crate for them. I have a Snoozy bumper bed for both of my dogs crates
  18. I'm so sorry for your loss RIP Mac
  19. I was told until around 18 months on the large breed pup for large dogs, but as the others have said, I would speak to your breeder. They all have there own recommendations for their breed Your boy is so handsome
  20. My Family and I have been going to the Colonel Light Vet Clinic for over 10 years, I can highly recommened them
  21. Yah, I hope they work for him We need photos when you get them
  22. I totally agree, training and lots of it is the key. With the lunging, my trainer told me to get him to "sit" as the bikes go past and praise him when he doesn't lunge, it has helped abit already There seems to be bike riders EVERYWHERE at the moment, which is a help I am finding that he is a little bit more responsive when on the head halter so it is making my job a bit easier
  23. I have only just started using the Blackdog infin8 halter and I love it, so far I can recommend it. I am only using it as part of my training though, without the training it would be pointless for Bailey. The reason I got it was that he has been lunging at bikes when we go walking Hopefully he can be back on a flat collar soon, once I get him over that :D
  24. Here's the link to the Blackdog one just scroll down to the "Hands free belt" I have the Blackdog one but haven't used it for ages for Bailey after Bailey pulled me over while I was wearing it I do use it sometimes for Keesha when I'm practising obedience, she doesn't pull though so it's not a problem. I would be vary wary of using fishing wire for it, that could do some serious damage if your dog decided to pull I second what kavik said and try tucking the lead in your pocket, that work well too
