Hmm I got the 18-55IS lens and the 75-300 and they seem to suit me well enough .

Mine was C3 at 6-7 weeks (or thereabouts LOL) any way before she came home from the breeder. I was going to get one done at 12 weeks but after having read on here and confirmed by the breeder I held off till she was 13 weeks and opted not to get a 16 week shot. I did get her done with C4 at 13 weeks as the discussion with my vet was that she could do C3 but the extra component covered by the C4 was the more serious kennel cough component and considering she is to do a performance dog the consensus was to get it. The advice against the C5 was that the KC component covered by that was easily enough treatable where as the C4 component was not. ETA. And my puppy was selectively taken out from the time she was here at 9 weeks and yes that included taking calculated risks about allowing her to interact and socialise with dogs and people.

Nope Agility Nationals are definitely 2010 in Perth and Obedience Nationals 2009 in Perth.

Interesting - what I found with my baby is that crate in another room was a problem but then I moved it into my bedroom till she was around 16 weeks and she was fine. Way less screaming if the crate was in the same room. The screaming only lasted maybe three nights before she was sleeping happily. Didn't help that on night 2 she had a runny tummy and I would get up and toilet her and then put her back to bed and she would keep whinging and I thought it was just her acting up so I left her in there, had to change the bedding 3 times that night as a result. I have recently moved it out to where I originally intended in another room outside my bedroom and she is happy to sleep in there overnight and I can still be close enough that when she starts to stir in the morning I can go and take her outside. The other thing I found is that I would only put her in there when she is fully settled. So she is allowed to fall asleep on my bed/on one of the dog beds/in somebodys lap. Then I'll take her out before I go to bed to toilet her and then into the crate for the night. I also found that bundling her up over night with blankets meant she was less likely to wake up in the middle and need to go out. We had a few weeks of waking up at 2-3am but since making sure she is wrapped and warm before bed she was much more inclined to sleep through. ETA. I forgot I also had a puppy pen up for a while that she would be put in the evening and allowed to fall asleep in that before being shifted to the crate later.

Hey Tess, You can train it on a step or a grooming table so the dog can't creep forward. Also if you place the food behind the dog and go back and reward or throw food behind so the reinforcement is behind the dog that can also help with the creeping.

Well I have to say I am pretty impressed with it so far. I bought a 7kg bag of Orijen adult from Pookinuk on the weekend and it was delivered Tuesday. They had there first meal of it today and both girls polished their bowls. Kenzie has had a bit of a problem with a runny tummy while both on Eaglepack and Advance but no evidence of a problem on Orijen at the moment .

I think these guys do a $5 delivery to Perth. http://www.pookinuk.com.au/

Awww yes I saw that Ptolomy - not fair as we had 2 homes lined up for him :p . Never mind Kenzie will get to meet him soon enough and it will be great to catch up and get thoroughly beaten with that stick of yours. Bet your going to use it over my training with Kenzie too :p . Like I said go Scoota and anytime Ptolomy threatens to give you away you will always be welcome here. ETA. Scoota I'll make sure I have a nice supply of twisties for you - although hmmmm you know what River and Ness's jackpot containers usually contain - guess you'll have to wait and see :D . She may even share some with a special red dog.

Probably cos Ptolomy hasn't arrived home yet ;) . But oooh what are friends for. So I am going to brag on her behalf (even though she has already in the toller thread). Ptolomy and "Scoota" aka OC Ptolomy Choc Chip UD ADM JDM ADO JDO SPDX SD GD won UD at the Nationals and came second in Open. Way to go the red dogs. Ptolomy is so deserving of her success with Scoota. She is one of the kindest most considerate handlers. Not only is she fantastic to watch in the ring but she has been so helpful to me and without her I would have given up ages ago. It was lovely to hear her results on Sunday especially as Scoota has been having a few hmmm "blonde" toller moments of late. Congratulations again and I can bet Ptolomy will be on cloud nine for ages . Now Scoota just has to have words to a certain black and white dog about how you can actually pass UD .

Hugs Benshiva - RIP Buffy

Well Ness managed pass number 5 towards her ADM today - only 2 more legs to get .
-
Oh good one Ptolomy - word of warning though don't try and take metal scent articles in your carry on as the security guards think your the next terrorist . At least you will be practiced at packing well come a months time but seriously why do you think I am only looking to bring my baby across for the Nationals next year .

Is There A Good Dog Chiro In Perth?
ness replied to Chocolate's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Yep $400 is probably pretty steep if you don't expect anything to be the matter however Liz is certainly good IF you suspect there is a problem and well worth the money (and having your arm twisted by Ptolomy ). I had thought all our problems were solved until Ness had a consult with Liz and she found a zillion other things wrong with her and 3 visits later 6 months down the track there is no sign of anything having returned. -

To treat the dog if needs be - they use the needles to activate the trigger points. The initial consult was around $100. Most times you might need more than one treatment to fix the problem permanently. -

Waterproof Coats - Any Recommendations?
ness replied to charliehotel's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I like the thermomaster ones but lots of people seem to like the weatherbeeta landa. -
Well she does both PAX .
-
She was holding a metal spoon at breakfast too the other day .
-
PAX - I had just had a session with Kenzie and we had just finished cos I was out of treats and then she decides to pick up the set of keys that was on the floor by the dog door - OOOPS .
-
Ok now a serious response - hmmm Kenzie does the running when she has something she shouldn't have. What I try and do is either trade her. So I'll call her to me (or run in the opposite direction) or offer her something with she is allowed. Sometimes food. Sometimes a game of tug (which she prefers more than food). Not sure about the jumping on furniture as we don't have that problem. She is either tired from her walks/training or outside running. I guess maybe you need to supervise him so he can't jump on the furniture. Kenzie is either in her pen or on a dog bed near where the computer is (in the same room as me) if she isn't being that closesly supervised or outside (although she has the dog door to come in when she wants). Interesting the few OMG moments where I have suddenly discovered she hasn't been supervised closely and I have lost her in the house she has either taken herself in the play pen to play with her toys, on the dog bed in my room again playing with toys or downstairs curled up sleeping somewhere.

:D LMBC its those naughty Benshiva BCs. I told you you should have got yourself a nice well behaved Winpara BC .
-
Yep I would be interested about that as well as I am looking at a 7kg bag of Orijen and that will take my 2 ages to eat. Maybe 4-5 months.
-
Somebody sent me a sample and Kenzie is eating it which is good news - might have found something she will eat .
