  1. Hi there :) Im building a 2.4mx4.8m dog enclosure for our SBT and mini schnauzer to enjoy in the summer while my partner and I are at work. Im trying to think of an activity or something to keep them amused during the day that hopefully wont start any fights. The only thing I thought of was maybe a sand pit but I dont really want to encourage digging. Sure a pool for the hotter days... Naturally I have sourced a pretty spunky kennel for them am getting a custom made shade cloth for the top. I work for a computer retailer so I have even organised network cameras to log in to with my smartphone and tablet to keep watch on the yard and the enclosure. Customers already know and love my "Kitchen Cam" and regularly ask how the pups are :D Any other ideas? Thanx
  2. I have literally just given my two one each that I got from PetBarn... neither of them want them and have resorted back to pigs ears... ...and they dont seem to smell (opinion from other posts)
  3. We never looked at 'training' our pups for the crates. They simply were put in there at night to sleep. Cover over. My SBT has a medium size still with a divider in hers because if I give her too much space she piddles in there still. Shes 4mths Our Mini Schnauzer who is 5.5mths has always had a full medium crate with no issues. He was allowed on the bed for a few weeks before the SBT came to live with us and made the transition to crate really smoothly :)
  4. Yes my neighbour decided weeks before I bought my SBT home that she 'hated' her. Purely because of her breed. I often see her watching them wrestle in the backyard from her kitchen. She has since decided that she prefers the SBT over the mini schnauzer because 'he plays too rough'. Ffs
  5. We have a 4mth old staffy and a 5 1/2mth old Mini Schnauzer. We both work FT and have no kids. People think we're crazy but I think we manage ours and their time well. Routine wake up and feeeding times... we're starting to introduce walking in the evenings and soon to be morning walks too. They've both completed puppy classes and both going on to intermediate training soon. We know they are as obedient as they can be, social and loved.... and thats what matters to us :D
  6. Hi hi :) *waves* Fairly new to the forums. Just loooove showing off pics of our furbabies. I lost my beloved best friend, Zeke, a rottie/ridgy mix, to a cancer earlier this year at the age of 13. Ive had dogs in my life since I was a very little girl, so losing that daily responsibility had me feeling very lost. My partner and I decided to pick a puppy each. We had only one criteria... inside dog I chose an English SBT and my partner chose a Mini Schnauzer :D Sansa and Saxon. Currently 4mths and 5 1/2 months (all respectively) They are 6 weeks apart and a couple of adorable trouble makers... and we love them to bits! We still separate them for the majority of the day when we're at work - only because they wrestle wrestle wrestle... Ive been getting in the habit the last few weeks of coming home in my lunch break to pop them together for the arvo. (attached is a pic of my 'puppy cam' so I can keep an eye on them). Ultimately in the summer they will be in a specially made yard outside :)
  7. Why does buying with PayPal have to be so easy
  8. Ok... Im still trying to figure out what dooshing is and how to pronounce it... But is THIS the action? Heh silly owner
  9. Used the 50% off code to try 1 month for the fur babies. Another half price month code if anyone else needs: rebeccabaillie :)
  10. Lousy, left my purse at work. (Also means no before work coffee)
  11. Nice find on the code! Was only going to try a month or two to see how we like it... might just sign up for a 6 month subscription now myself. We have 2 pups at the moment but lucky for us they like to share :D
  12. Living in NW Tasmania after relocating from Brisvegas four years ago, a lot of my retail crutches were no longer in my grasp. I have since become quite dependant on magazine and beauty subscriptions to keep me sane. Recently I googled across Spottybox - a monthly pet treat subscription. Im keen but I havent seen many box content pictures about on twitter, instagram etc even though theyve been distributing for several months. Im just wondering if anyone here is a subscriber and can comment on value and/or quality. Thanx
  13. Interesting thread :) We have many many small kids in our extended family all pretty much under the age of 4. The ones we see the most are 2 and 4 and have pet staffy crosses at home but act in terror when our 15wk and 5mth pups approach them. Its REALLY frustrating when trying to socialise our pups and now we just avoid having them all together Less hassles and tears. I like the idea of sitting by a playground. I have mid-week days off so this will be more ideal. Failing that I might need to advertise amongst my Facebook friends to go to for play dates. Heh.
  14. Hi there :) We have two pups (15wk old SBT bitch & 5mth old Mini Schnauzer dog) who took to their crates like ducks to water. We love that they are secure all night, sleeping, and not wrestling or getting up to mischief! My staffy has been in her crate since we got her home at 8wks, the schnauzer had a month of the bed but became acquainted with his crate just before the SBT came on the scene. I only have one 'issue'... HOW do I make them sleep in?? The SBT wakes anywhere from 5am to 7am... (and starts her staffy cry like shes being beaten!) I made the mistake a couple of times of ignoring her - to find she'd pee'd in her crate Shes restricted to half the space anyway while shes little. Im sure our mini schnauzer would sleep in all morning if it wasnt for her! Mamma needs some sleep! Haha
