  1. Thanks Troy

Just giving everyone the heads up that this person is looking to move back to NSW and is advertising for Pet/House Sitting positions.

    http://www.stayme.com.au/housesit/sitter/19555

Why do I want to House Sit?

We are a family of 4 (Including 5yr old twins) who are looking to relocate from QLD back to the Sutherland Shire

We are a clean houseproud family who just adore animals and have experience in pet minding (As i use to have my own pet minding business)

Looking for something after the end of June and a long ish term (So over a month)

    About me

We are a lovely quiet family who are catholic and the children go to a catholic school so in no way shape or form are we party people

  2. One thing I am really happy with is that the rescue group that I support through my shop is now going to desex the mother cat of any litters of kittens that they take in and give her back to the owner, that is a true rescue group

That's incredible. I love this plan. I hope people take it up! Would love to donate if you'd like to PM me who that is. What a fabulous plan!

One of my local cat care groups does this, they "book in" the litter for vetwork in advance and then the owner picks mum back up. They have an all or none policy so unless the whole litter is handed in then they take wont accept the litter, previously they would find that some of the kittens ended up being given away free undesexed before their appointment. mum is desexed free of charge.

  3. Anyone looking for a special little girl?

Lula almost 9yo female Mini Pincher x

Lula is a sweet little girl that would suit an older person looking for a dog for company, Lula is housetrained so she must be a mainly inside dog. She is used to the company of little dogs. She loves a nice pat and a bit of a fuss. She knows basic commands such as sit and stay. Lula has only got 3 legs, and her good back leg is showing signs of wear which is age appropriate. She is also fine with cats

  4. i debated before putting up my post because the last thing I wanted was to offend, but thought it was better to be honest.

Most people wont know that new vets have garbage wages after all of the study. Plus I am lazy so I would do many things before choosing dog walking as a job for myself

In essence I suppose my thoughts would be to consider alternatives rather than the obvious. But if walking suits you then go for it.

  5. I guess it is the low pay of a dog walker vs vet. I know that young vets are not paid the greatest amount of money though.

But still it just doesnt make sense to me, so it would make me question why. Says she would would rather curl up on the couch with a book in my spare time than take on hours of walking for little money.

  6. My thought would be that you would need to take care that it doesnt impact on your reputation as a vet.

While a vet could make a good dog walker I personally would be concerned about a vet also taking on work as a dog walker. To be honest without knowing them it would make me question their skills as a vet. Is there scope to have your own mobile vet practise on a small scale or maybe a rescue clinic for basics like checkups, vaccs and chips etc?
