  1. Fat smiley boy is now on LabraDOG's FB page (sorry dunno how to link). He's a cutie!

isnt he gorgeous!!! I will enjoy following his journey to rediscover his life and his waistline.

It was wonderful to see the lovely Amanda today and add another rescue to the list of those working with the somersby shelter for the benefit of the animals. One little brick at a time and we are building a stronger rspca/rescue relationship.

  2. I have only just discovered Paws for life and sent off an order. Did everyone know they run a rescue offer where you put in the code of a participating rescue and they give one weeks food per order to the rescue. I gave my freebee towards DCH Animal Adoptions (code DCH)

I am saving money, its delivered and I am donating all in one transaction

  3. one thing you may wish to suggest is a desexing scheme for reclaimed strays. Registration of an undesexed dog is $150 in NSW whereas the desexed cost is $40.

that $110 difference can be utilised to "fund" a voluntary desexing scheme where the animal can be released home desexed and registered for minimally more money than just the registration cost only. Win Win for council, community and the owner.

  4. That is one seriously ill boy, he will get much worse when he runs out of energy. Are you sure it isn't his heart, he may be in heart failure. If he was mine I would be straight to the vets.

His heart is really good gillbear. xx

That's good. He may be seizing due to lack of oxygen. I use children's benadryl @ .2ml/kg for kennel cough. Maybe give him something that will dry up the secretions for the night. If it is a serious sinus infection there may be a large cavity involved. Good luck, I hope he can be put right very soon.

Does he cough after drinking? You may be looking at an aspiration?

  5. Meet the lovely Coco and Kody a pair of 8 and 10yo Chihuahua x Silky girls who were dumped at Gosford Pound.

They have been waiting for their new home for a couple of months now and the weather is getting colder. These two really need their own home to be warm and spoilt. Kody and Coco are good with other small dogs but timid with larger ones.

The shelter believes they may have had elderly owners who were not able to care for them properly, as they came in severely flea infested, underweight and barely able to walk due to badly overgrown nails. They have had more than a few of their teeth removed due to shocking dental disease.

Coco and Kody's favourite things are to snuggle up on your lap and spend the day just hanging around with their doggy companions.
