  1. 2 weeks old today!!! and we have eyes lol so currently I have 4 puppies spread out across the loungeroom as they start discovering the world... rather well socialized bubbahs with lots of visitors in the last week. mum is okay she's tiring feeding them so on occasion we have to pin them down so they can have a decent feed but apart from that they are doing so well.. will get some more photos this week
  2. We started temping on the weekend and she dropped her bundle on the monday night/early tuesday morning.. I'd just temp her every few hours and record.. we noticed it drop over a few hours minsculy then all of a sudden it dropped right off.. we then had a day of restlessness followed by a long night.. Oh yes Mums tummy has suffered we've clipped the nails but the bubbahs just latch on and suck be it teat or skin poor girl.. I think she's looking forward to weaning them LOL
  3. Big list this year with several kids on the list lol Ella JD title ET title - be the first lowchen to do so Keep working hard, gain our focus back and just have fun together Go to ADAA nationals and GP hopefully Amber keep working hard, and get ready for trialling later on in the year head towards our RN title finish our Contact and weave training sucessfully complete a course (doesnt have to be a Q but I just want to have a sucessful run that I can be proud of) Leo oh my le-le man where to start lol I just want him to be a happy confident dog, any extras will be bonuses, Id like OH to continue with his slow agility training in hope towards the end of the year they may be able to compete. My new little Bubbah I want a happy confident puppy, who enjoys playing and working with me. hopefully do lots of foundation work and showing.. who knows lol!!!
  4. Finally some photos my 3 Parti Kids Milk bar is open Snuggles with Mumma
  5. My bubbahs are 1 week old tomorrow :) cant believe how much they have grown and changed already in that week
  6. up to 4 looks like mum is done.. so we had a nice even split of 2/2 last bub born at 3:15am good sized bubs weighing in at 109, 125, 115, 105 the biggest pup was a breech but they're all doing well, squeaking and wiggling and mum is an awesome New mum instinctively wanted the first bub to suckle with some help she got there... lol on another high I get to sleep in my bed.. I was curled up with her in the pen until pups arrived as she wouldn't settle without me even though I was right next to her.. what an experience :) they're just beautiful :D So Darkrai kennels first litter 4th Dec 2012
  7. it's been a long labour with it starting just after 10pm and the first bub born at 1:45am 2 boys and a girl so far :)
  8. It's very common for bitches to stick like glue. Mine has been annoying me for weeks, I can't even go to the toilet in peace. She follows me everywhere and when she's not doing that, she'd laying on my bed on my pillow glad to see mines not the only one :) I'm impatiently waiting for miss to drop her bundles lol
  9. congrats choc_bordercollie question do bitches usually get sooky before welping?? I Have a snuggle bug atm.. not unusual but she doesn't want me to be away.. her bubbahs are having a party lol it's fun.watching them dance across her belly.. she's going off her food, she'll give it a lick but that's it.. currently cuddled up in her crate/box together watching tv.. I'm lucky to have such a great boss who's letting me bring her to work for the few hours I'm.there each morning until she has Her pups.. fingers crossed for babies soon!
  10. all's good :) flickering little hearts so now the countdown is on t-minus 6 days
  11. off to the vet this morning :) final scan and check up as we head into the count Down :) bring on babies
  12. we have our nursery set up from last weekend (7 weeks) as they can go up to a week early..but we also Have her sleeping and being in it at any opportunity to get used to it.
  13. that's 2 of them joined up. you Get 4 panels a pack and some spring join things but we used aviary clips, zipties would work just as well. given our bitch is a liftable breed I've got no door so you may have to fiddle.. currently both bitch and dog sleep in there until further notice.. there's a larger crate replacing those 2 coming.. hope the photo worked if not will upload tonight for you whrn I'm on the pc
  14. an extra fan is high on the List :) looking at getting ceiling fans in here soonish (difficult considering the house age) as far as snakes go under the house is very open and the dogs have lived under there in the year we've been here no issue, it's a rather built up area.. you can see from one end to the other sadly it's the only under cover area we have out back for the dogs as we've only recently had permission from the landlords to renovate so our other plan is some shade sails out back :) slow process for everything as I've been unable to work this year.. DancinBCs portable acs are out of the budget unless you can get them for under $150 money is rather tight atm.. thanks everyone :)
  15. thanks everyone :) thankfully it's starting to cool off so she's a little better but will keep these for during the week as were supposed to have warm days.. bring on the 7th (her due date) reckon she'll go early as she looks like she's ready to explode
  16. She is known as pig and our other girl is known as fish.. one loves to try and get in the shower with you, checks out the loo as it flushes and the other (my pregant girl) is a pig even before having pups she stole Cauliflower off my plate one night simply as it was something to eat! she will eat anything and everything except her bikkies atm as shes being a fuss pot! Bring on next weekend then she can drop her bundle.. lucky enough my boss has said I can bring her to work to sit in the aircon in the cat room but I'd rather not move her all over the place as Im worried about stressing her or catching bugs from other dogs around (I work in a boarding kennels.. its immaculate but you just never know) or better yet her dropping a bundle whilst shes there.. Im only gone for a few hours each morning she really only spends about 4hrs on her own atm so she should be okay..
  17. Thanks for that she loves her crate so will do that and pop her in the doorway :) the sun is slowl dissappearing so hopefully it'll cool off soon as well.. I spoil her with the ends of my icy poles and licking out the icecream bowl.. she enjoys it and its cool on her tounge :) Im a sucker for the puppy dog eyes
  18. So Summer has kicked in here today First really warm day we've had in ages as my hands and feet tell me by swelling LOL Our Girl is starting to feel the heat and with her size (7 weeks and ready to explode) its not helping, we've relented and let her outside under the house in the dirt when we're home but apart from that there doesnt seem to be any good ways to keep her cool that shes happy with. We're gonna have to limit her outside under the house time soon as she is nesting and we're worried she'll drop her bundle there which we wont be able to get to her. Ive put the cool matt out and she refuses to use it we dont have an A/C to run and the fan is pretty poor.. currently shes stretched out at the front door enjoying the non existant breeze LOL Any suggestions.. I know it seems like a dumb question but Im at my wits end.. would hate to loose the litter at this stage and the poor girl is just so pregnant and uncomfortable atm..
  19. well the nursery has started :) we've got a tarp down underneath to save my carpet as there's no suitable tile space to put puppies on. just gotta order some vet bed once I Get paid.. gotta love the bunnings compost pens :)
  20. That's us too!! still baking mind you one of mine was kicking the crap out of me.earlier lol!
  21. well we have dropped!! expecting them now to be early lol 7 weeks today..she needs to hold out till early Dec! played with her 3 week old siblings yesterday so getting very excited to have a mob of my own running round the place.. OH managed to feel one wiggling round this morning :D
  22. I wouldn't be feeding a pregnant bitch extra calcium, additional calcium during pregnancy can quickly lead to all sorts of whelping and post-whelping problems up to and including uterine inertia & eclampsia. And IMO a pregnant bitch doesn't need to be filled up with useless filler carbs such as pasta & rice - feed her food she can digest with the least possible bulk is my belief. under suggestion from our vet we were told things like yoghurt and a bit of calcium carbonate would do her some good especially for the period of gestation whilst the babies are developing their bones. she loves her rice and pasta I'm not depriving her of things she enjoys as its one of the few things she will eat willingly. I'm sorry there's no set mind map for each bitch, each is different we're listening to our vet as well as past experience with litters.
  23. we've got our girl on her regular food but extra calcium and extras such as rice and pasta and a bit of tin to encourage her to eat.. we havent changed her diet except the quantity and the tin as we've never fed tin but we're having trouble getting her to eat..
