  1. So did I until I looked at this http://www.pakenhamshow.org.au/
  2. Was there anything in with the numbers to say where the dog section will be held? I just looked at their web site and it appears that the dogs are on the main arena. I have emailed them for clarification.
  3. My sheltie is hopefully in whelp, so although she was invited she has far more important things to do good luck everyone
  4. At least 2 or 3 to an A4 sheet and its one or two cuts without having to trim off the edges...ggrrrr
  5. as part of my business I print entry books (Vic style) and I would prefer if they made them 3 to a page, it seems ridiculous that they are a non standard size. For me it means having paper cut to the correct size and its a pain in the butt. I believe the ANKC database could have an upgrade to allow people to purchase pre filled in entry forms, it is just a report.
  6. if the dog sniffing around is friendly then I get down and give them pats and talk to them, then your dog sees you are not afraid of them and relaxes enough to find out what fun playing with other dogs is.
  7. I would trim the feet and hocks (not too much off just enough to give a tidy appearance)and just line groom the rest of the dog...I used to line groom the shepherds for the ring anyway.
  8. I am not surprised considering what you can expect tomorrow. Yes, it is definitely the same in every organisation and some don't put their requests for assistance as eloquently as Peter did. One that I belong to do not take into consideration that you work and volunteer 20+ hours a week to another volunteer organisation. They insist if you want to be part of their organisation you will put in. Then there is the other side of the coin where you offer assistance and a club don't even bother to email back. Their loss. Good luck tomorrow Gail.
  9. Keep it simple. There are literally thousands of products out there and you will probably find every sheltie exhibitor uses a different combination. Jr_inoz suggestions are perfect. I would add a good pair of scissors for the feet and some baby powder to puff up the legs. Personally I use very little of the commercial brand coat products, I have a spray made up with bay rum, au de quinine and water as a grooming spray. Now, you cant post on here without supplying a pic.... good luck
  10. Aside from the right or perceived wrong of Peter's comments.... Personally I gave over ten years to a major metro club, over the past 7 years I have given my time to a totally unrelated association. All this on top of working full time and running a small home business subsidizing dog activities. I plan on giving up all volunteer activities over the next three months. I believe I have done my bit. So maybe it is time for those whose lives revolve around attending to start doing some of the organizing, take some responsibility for making things happen and ensuring fair decisions for all. I was in a unique position of being able to see how much time goes into being on vca managementt committee. Most members have absolutely no idea and don't care enough to find out. So if you want dog activities to continue and you want a public voice get off your butt and do something about it.
  11. I might have to pop over with Bree to give her some experience of indoor showing before our national
  12. and the show society holds insurance against any other loses due to weather
  13. I'm not hone in time for the news so hopefully someone posts it here. I won't be disturbing the secretary tonight
  14. Weasels I thought all your dogs were desexed
  15. The bane of my existance. Even worse than entries that are too big, entries that are way too small and get lost amoungst the others. Dogs entered with registration numbers that actually make them older than their parents. Incorrect photocopied entries that are incorrect over and over and over again. (obviously) Dogs entered with a siblings registration number........so what are they entering the named dog or the registered number dog????? Dogs entered as just Chihuahua....hhhmmm I have a 50% chance of getting it right.
  16. RUIG 5 was handled by Miss EF........after missing her call with her puppy dog Im not sure what happened at the open show.
