  1. BB make sure you never buy a dog from SA as you still don't seem to understand that we can not give you the papers with the pup. Breeders in SA must send the papers into DogsSA to be transferred into the new owners name, therefore the new owners recieve them in the post after they have picked up their pup. Not sure how else to say this so you understand. Leanne
  2. I agree, I would rather have someone else call on behalf than have the people looking for a pup be sucked in by an unethical breeder. Leanne
  3. Contact Dogs NSW and find out if she is in fact a registered breeder (should of been done before considering getting a pup from her). If she is then ask if she has registered the litter that the pup is from, if she has then ask if she has put the papers in to be transfered into your name. I know here in SA DogsSA will try to contact the breeder if they have had complaints, not sure if it is the same in NSW. Maybe the fact that she always has pups for sale etc should of given you warning that she may not be the best breeder to purchase from. Leanne
  4. I have an old Basset Hound, she will be 11 in a couple months. During the day if it is cold she has 2 coats on while outside. At night she is inside in a covered crate next to the fire. If she had her way she would never leave her crate Leanne
  5. I don't breed to satisfy other people, I breed for myself. If there is any pups left after making my choice then they are placed up for sale. I have more people wanting my pups they I will ever have to fill them. If you don't like the way I do things then don't buy from me...simple. I am not going to change my ways. The guy in question in this thread obviously didn't choose a good breeder, not my fault but his. Leanne
  6. I choose not to put my papers in until the pups have been microcipped (so that the number can go on their papers) and I have chosen the pups I am keeping. This is not done till they are 8 weeks old. As I said earlier by the time I register the litter, then transfer the papers into the new owners name it can take up to 3 months. It also depends on the time of year as it can take longer around Christmas/New Year due to the office being closed. How many times and ways do we need to type this for you to understand Leanne
  7. Very well said Ellz. The majority of my buyers don't even care about the papers, they just want a healthy, well cared for pup from health tested parents and raised in a loving enviroment. Most of buyers keep constant contact and quite a few have become very good friends. I post my folders out a week before the pups leave. Leanne
  8. All of that info should be in your pups folder. You should have copies of the parents health checks/results. I would not buy a pup without copies. Leanne
  9. If buyers want their papers when they take their pup that is fine BUT it will not be 8 weeks old. Puppy buyers need to be made aware that not all registered breeders are good ethical breeders. Don't just buy a pup from the first breeder that has one available NOW, research the breeders, get to know the breeders and then if you feel secure with them put your name down for a pup. Most puppy buyers do not want to wait and will buy from the first breeder that has pups ready to go and that is why these problems accure. Leanne
  10. Copied from the website Transfers and Leases 20. (a) When the ownership of a registered dog has been changed, or a lease arranged, the transferor or lessor as the case maybe shall lodge an application to register the transfer or lease accompanied by the prescribed fee with the Executive Officer within fourteen days of such disposition. (b) The pedigree must not be given to the new owner until it has been transferred in accordance with these Rules. © The application for registration of a transfer or lease of a dog shall be signed by the transferor or lessor as the case maybe. (d) Any special conditions relating to the transfer or lease of a registered dog shall be set out on a Statutory Declaration and shall be signed by all parties involved in the agreement About 7 years ago I sold a Basset to a family in Qld, she was on limited rego and sold as a pet, I just signed the back of the papers for them to put in their own name. A couple years later I get a phone call from the Qld CC blasting me for mating my limited rego bitch. The family decided they wanted a litter from their pet, took her to breeder (one of the biggest breeders in Qld) who mated her without looking at the papers. After many phone calls and a hell of a lot of stress I was lucky to not end up with afine or worse. It pays for breeders to do the transfer themselves. Leanne
  11. Ummm sorry but that is against the rules of ANKC. The breeder must transfer the papers. The breeder you got your dog from just saved themselves some money by having you pay for it and if they did this with every pup (especially in large litters) they are getting away with a small fortune. There is also no way to know for sure that the new owners have done the transfer, which if not the dog is still technically in the breeders name and can be blamed if anything happens. I give a copy of the pedigree in the pups folder and the original pedigree is sent out to them in a few weeks. Have never had a problem doing it this way and have never had buyers question me. Have been doing it this way for 16 years. Leanne
  12. My guys go in the back of the wagon, on short trips they are free behind the cargo barrier, on long trips they are in crates. My little Frenchie sit on the console between the front seats. Leanne
  13. Mine are not registered by 8 weeks of age as I wait till they have been vaccinated and microchipped so that the microchip number can go on the papers. It also depends on the time of year as to how busy the CC is as to how quick the papers come back. Don't forget that in the majority of states the papers need to be put in, they are then sent back to the breeder so that the breeder can transfer them over to the new owners, they are then sent back in for transferring and then sent to the new owners. This can take anywhere froma 3-8 weeks. He need to contact Dogswest, find out about the breeder and go from there. Leanne
  14. My friend is planning on breeding her girl with her mates aussie. She has no idea and I really have had enough trying to explain to her what can happen. I can see the bitch and pups dying during whelping Leanne
  15. If the papers where signed and dated before the suspension it should not be a problem. Wishing you all the best. Leanne
  16. I have a friend that has an Aussie Bulldog and have had many a disscusion with her about her dogs papers not meaning anything in the pure dog world. She has had nothing but health problems with her girl and she is not even 1 Leanne
  17. The SBT exhibitors here can be very nasty but the majority are very nice. I recently showed my Frenchie baby, it has been 7 years since I showed a Frenchie or been in group 7. The other Frenchie exhibitors where rather rude. I then had it rubbed rudely in my face that my baby came 2nd, hell it was her first show against an older baby. The baby that won has my breeding in it and I could not of been happier for the baby and the handler. Very few new exhibitors stick it out and it is very dissapointing. I am not saying the rudeness is the only factor but it sure does add to it. The growing costs of showing and the whos who in the dog world has also played its part. Unlike the Eastern states we only have 1 show on at a time so can not pick and choose so it does not matter if it is a country show or city all the same people go. Leanne
  18. I have tried bringing new puppy owners in to showing only to have them after a couple shows pull out because of the nastiness of other exhibitors. Over the many years I have had harrassing phone calls, emails etc and even death threats to me and my dogs. Why would anyone want to subject themselves to that. I myself after 16 years have reduced my dog numbers to only a couple dogs and am only doing a few shows a year now. I just can't be bothered anymore and am loving it I was at a major show recently (well major for SA :D ) that was so obvious with handlers marking themselves for the judges (either wearing scarfs or having a thing hanging off the end of the lead) so that the judges new who to give the win to. Why would people want to waste their hard earnt money when this is going on. Gone are the days when the best dog won If it wasn't for the breeding side I doubt I would be a member after this year. Leanne
  19. go Fatty Could your TM be coming into season? My Basset girls would always hump each other when they where in season. Leanne PS Happy Birthday
  20. Congrats what great wins for such a young boy Leanne
  21. Price will depend on the vet doing the collection and the storage place but expect around $400 - $600. I think it is well worth the money. Leanne
  22. You may also want to consider that sometimes males change after they have been used at stud. Some may become obsessed and try to hump everything, others may stop eating and whine/bark constantly when they can smell a female in season (they can smell a bitch miles away) and other may become aggressive to other male dogs. If he is a pet and you yourself have no plans on breeding then I would have seamen collected and stored. That way if people want him you have it on hand and he has never had a natural mating. My stud dogs in the past have been pain in the butts after they have had a mating, some to the point of not being able to be shown again as they are just to obsessed, others having to go into boarding when the girls are in season and others needing to go on ACP's. Not all males go like this but it is something else you need to consider. Leanne
  23. If your friend is after a long tail boxer then there is no problem as the bob tail gene is not passed on to boxers that have normal length tails. Leanne
  24. Stunning pics of 2 gorgeous boys. Leanne
  25. This is very practical! I’ve always wondered how to clean the inside of my computer screen. Try it! You probably don't clean your computer screen very often and it is really hard to do the inside, so here is my present to you. click here http://www.raincitystory.com/flash/screenclean.swf and wait for a few seconds and the inside of your screen will be cleaned for you!
