  3. Thanks heaps for that. Yeah we are kind of all organised. I got a gazebo on the weekend, I was going to wait and just use my old tent, but they were on special so thought what the hell. If you see two people struggling to put up a compact gazebo you'll know its us!!! I really just need to organise what I am going to wear on my feet.... once I get there, will probably start panicking about what I need to do, ie. catalog and what happens if I win, assuming we don't get a non award, I assume I'll need to get a certificate or something for winning baby puppy of breed??? I do have a show lead for her but she chews it more than the normal lead and collar, so might just leave her on her normal one for the moment, unless that's really frowned upon?? Well we will be there bright and early in our tent that resembles a highlighter!! Ok shoes go on your feet Just wear something comfortable with a bit of grip so you dont slip over. Catalogues are collected from a window in the big shed (which will be right behind the gundog ring). Highly doubt that you will get non awarded, but be sure to tell the judge that its yours and Willows first show. He's a nice judge and great with Newbies so I'm sure you will be fine. If you win you will get a ribbon, no certificates need to be collected until she is 6months and wins a Challenge. As for leads just use what works for, but you will find that most people use a paracord lead or a chain. I have a few different types of leads if you want to try before you by
  4. No No you want the pointee puppy to behave so that he doesnt distract Willow If pointee puppy is super naughty she will prolly think OHHHH play time Naughty yep, behave hmmm depends on his mood So are you all organised as to where you are going, and your show gear??? If you need help... just look for the Orange tent... very hard to miss us

  7. Like ellz says, I would think of repeating a mating if I did not get many puppies in the first litter.
  8. There is a full catalogue online, you just have to wait for it to load (it can take a while!!) Belgian wise this is what is entered... 5.6 BELGIAN SHEPHERD (GROENENDAEL) CLASS 3 (PUPPY DOG) 1132 K Houston BELJEKALI XTREME RegNo 2100300183 DofB: 16 Jul 2009 Sire: Ch A-Te-Ell’s Monsieur Zantana (Imp Swe) Dam: Ch Ebony Du Pre Du Vieux Pont CLASS 5 (INTERMEDIATE DOG) 1133 C and J Fynmore CH A-TE-ELL’S MONSIEUR ZANTANA (IMP SWD) RegNo S35355/2008 DofB: 20 Apr 2008 Sire: SV-08 Emmabourne Moonshadow (Swd) Dam: A-Te-Ell’s Madame Vinny 5.7 BELGIAN SHEPHERD (MALINOIS) CLASS 5 (INTERMEDIATE DOG) 1134 M and J Carey CH VANRUSSELHOF UKNOW WHO RegNo 4100163386 DofB: 4 Aug 2008 Sire: Ch Vanrusselhof Oliver Twist HT Dam: Ch Vanrusselhof Duscha CDX PT ET
  9. Try hot water BMP.. or heat the mixture. Agree, warm water from the tap and stick it in the microwave for about 15secs (just watch it doesnt go foamy and spill out) Wait till its cooled and apply. What part of the body are you using it on??
  10. Another idea would be to base the BOB pointscore on Challenge points. That way you know that the dogs were actually beaten and not absent. Assuming that it wouldnt be any harder to calculate as you have the points on the certificate and they can also be verified with the secretary if needed. The only downside is this would take out the RUBOB being allowed points for the comp. I do like the idea of capping the number of shows, especially for the rising star comp.
  11. Friday BIS was a GSD - don't know any more. That was my OH's boy, Aust Ch Allendel Incite A Riot... he was absolutely rapt! Wish I was there, but after hearing about the weather & seeing photos, I was kind of glad I stayed in Sydney :D Riot is a lovely boy!! Congrats
  12. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Way to go Mango!!!
  13. Totally agree we show both Boxers & Pointers, and even though the breeds are at different ends you bet your bottom dollar the Utility Group usually clashes with Pointers... Personally if I were you I would be waiting. You have said that Willow is your first showdog, so why rush in and get another so soon?? Firstly training a young puppy for the show ring does require a decent amount of work on your behalf, stacking, lead training, grooming... etc... but imagine doubling that!! It might be a bit too much to handle on your first attempt. Also your first show dog is a good way to learn what to do, and each dog after that ALWAYS benefits from the things you learn with your first dog.
  14. Another that always buys a catalogue. Not sure I agree with the youngest to oldest order, as I agree with Yarrowfell that it could hamper some of the older dogs moving behind a silly youngster. We usually always have alphabetical by surname here in NSW, I'm usually always in the middle (L surname) so it doesnt bother me.
  15. There are a few topic on Progesterone testing at the moment regarding frozen semen breedings, so they will have useful information in them too. But most vets I have dealt with quote 15-18nmol as Ovulation range and 30-90nmol as the fertile period. But it is not always the case, some will peak earlier some later, the thing you are looking for is a sharp spike in the numbers to indicate ovulation. Could you not leave the bitch at the stud, until you can collect her or have her transported back?? That way you would be able to get in a couple of matings in case she is not ready during your timeframe.
  16. We've always found it easier to deal direct with NZ companies as they are on the ground to co-ordinate MAF certificates and all the vet work. Try Dandy Dogs or Air Care Pets. Cost wise for a 8-10kg puppy (in a PP40) we have usually paid around NZ$900-1000.
  17. If you want another one, happy to send you mine just PM me your email.
  18. Looking forward to hearing what you pick *whispers* I like the liver girl too *
  19. Ok well from your OP you already think that the chocky girl is most like her mum. Is she an improvement on the things you listed above, feet, bone, chest??
  20. Ok first question I would be asking myself would be; What specific traits do you need in your breeding programme?? i.e do you need better shoulders, tail sets, heads, etc. and, Do any of these pups have what it is you need to improve on?? You still have a few weeks up your sleeve to decide, just keep watching them. You seem to have already made some great notes on them, including personality. Personally I wouldn't worry too much about inability to stack properly at this age, unless it is caused by a conformational fault. Most stacking problems you can be fixed.
  21. Ours never worried at all, we picked it and went to Dubbo the first weekend we had it...lol We always give them something to chew on whenever they go in, might be the reason that they race to the trailer as soon as they see it and demand in You would laugh at Morgan's excitement when she sees us hook it up to the car They are usually ok as they can see each other through the bays. Hoping that it is not puggy sized and that poor Kite can fit
  22. That is gorgeous.............she is doing because she can!! Maybe she was wondering what all the fuss about it is with the pups and thought she would check it out. I dont think you can stop her without upsetting the apple cart so to speak. She only has a few more weeks before weaning and it eventually dries up, so dont worry. Yes have to laugh..good way to stop mum being run down.. haha.. Have milk will travel must try to get photo Better still get a video. I bet you would have thousands of hits on youtube...lol
  23. It is 6months, but I have seen an FCI judge refuse a class to a baby puppy (he was even the only one in the class) as he could not find the other teste. Even though the steward & exhibitor explained that it was allowed here, and did not have to be down until 6months. The judge just said no thanks.
  24. ok you got me I think that the bitch should have thought about being nicer and made things much easier by having them on the 28th October or 1st November
