  1. Still soooo many people calling them English? - It's a Staffordshire Bull Terrier! or SBT! OMG, isn't he the most adorable little thing A big awwwwwwwwwww....
  2. This is the problem with people not being patient enough to wait for a well bred puppy from a registered breeder - must have now! The other option would have been buying from an interstate registered breeder rather than supporting a back yard breeder... Completely agree with Aziah there.
  3. Unless you bought him with papers, you have no proof But don't let them get away with it, fight it tool & nail!!!! They don't have proof that he's a APBT either, just one persons opinion. eta: looking at the pic though, I'd have guessed APBT The unregistered breeders are sealing the fate of the unregistered pups they are producing.
  4. How devastating.. So sorry run free Charlie.. God you must be heartbroken ..j eta: he didn't have any issues with the GA for desexing did he? Oh gee I hope it wasn't negligence this time poor Charlie..
  5. Odin was put to bed at 8pm Friday night. 2 am Saturday morning Veanna woke up to leave for the drive to VIC for the Nationals. Odin was laying in the kitchen, not in a good way, very, very ill & rushed to the Emergency vet. Poisoning was suspected, and within hours, he passed. .... Waiting for the vet to call back with the cause, Veanna found a dead baby brown snake with a bite mark on it, in the pantry. Odin had killed it, but not before it bit him.. Very sad.
  6. It was a long, emotional & windy road from the time Veanna first emailed me about a puppy, to when Odin finally joined her family, roughly 2 years & 4 months. After all of this, I'm am so saddened by his loss, a loss that has been felt by many. Please let me share his story. My first memory of Odin, was the moment he was born, on the phone to Kadbury, a split umbilical, me running around frantically to locate some cotton to tie it off, and Mumma Tia trotting after me throughout the house following the newborn squealing & grunting in my hands. Between 'Squirt' (as he was affectionately nicknamed due to the blood squirting from the split) and Tia, my place looked like a massacre had occured, there was blood everywhere!!! Tied him off, put a bandaid over it, mopped up & all was well again.. Veanna was originally getting a female, but as time progressed I felt the girls were not quite the quality I had hoped for, and it was decided after much discussion, that a boy would be chosen instead and 'green ribbon' boy would be the one. For some reason, once that decision was made, both of us felt at ease. There was no stress, it was calm, it felt right.. Admittedly, I was very critical on this litter, but in hindsight, perhaps It happened for a reason, I'm sure Odin going to Veanna was just 'meant to be'. We both felt it. And so came the time that Veanna flew from SA to NSW. When he clumsily trotted towards her & sat at her feet, I knew this was a match made in heaven. I couldn't believe that 'finally' after all this time, the false starts, the bloody tissue , the mating, ultrasound, whelping & growing, he was going home, Veanna was getting her puppy. I've been blessed to have been able to watch him grow up on Dogzonline (and so have many others), his 1st 'stack', losing his baby teefies, vet visits, play dates, the neighbour complaining about him barking , but I can't help but be very, very sad, that I wont get to see him truly 'grow up', into a big handsome adult, the protector of his family.. I was so excited, looking forward to seeing Veanna & Odin this weekend at the White Shepherd National Show, he'd grown sooooo much!! I last saw him at 9 weeks, and now he was 7 months, I just couldn't wait to see it with my own eyes instead of photos. I know Veanna has been looking forward to this show for a very long time, she had a ticker, and would constantly remind us how many days to go! I think she started the countdown MONTHS ago! But we loved it, just incase we might forget. .... (She knows what I'm like anyway.) We had a wonderful group of people at the Nationals, Fanulios & step dad, Arawyn & parents, Mr & Mrs Apparitions, Flava, GSD's4Ever, Mr & Mrs Bilbo Baggins, Kadbury, Wolfgirl, Bilbo Baggins Junior, Baggy Trousers, so many, hope I haven't forgotton anyone, all looking forward to Veanna arriving with Odin.. With no mobile reception, none of us knew the terrible news yet.. Heading into town, Mrs Apparitions took Veanna's phone number with her to give her a call. We knew she shouldn't be far away.. And it was then that she was told the tragic news.. our little Odin was gone.. .... WG was called, and the news had to be broken to those of us back at the cabins, and the rest of the arrivals. Looks of shock & tears, shock, that's what it was.. When Flava told me, I stared blankly for a long time, I truly couldn't comprehend what I was being told. It took me a while to realise exactly was said. I want to thank everyone for your compassion & sympathy to Veanna over the loss of Odin. Veanna, thank you so much for giving Odin such a wonderful home during his short life. And if you feel sad, just remember, as I said, everything happens for a reason. I truly believe that you needed him to comfort you when you lost your Mum, and he was there to kill the snake in your home to protect your family. He had fulfilled his purpose in life, in such a short time.... Just shows how special he was.. My love & thoughts are with you as always.. I would like to honour the passing of Odin by way of a dedication. On sunday, his half sister, mother, father & grandfather absolutely did me proud at the Nationals. It was as though someone (or a certain puppy) was watching over us & giving us a hand.. truly unbelievable results. So in Memory of Odin, I would like to dedicate Sugar's, his half sisters wins to him.. Sugar; BIS & Supreme Exhibit in Show. It was all for you Odin! She flew the flag for him, while he watched from the rainbow bridge. Bless him.. Farewell my little Odin, the Fantom King. with Veanna's mum now..
  7. oh the poor fella, bless him with his big smile & waggy tail. sorry I missed your first thread, wow, I'm stunned at what happened to your boy. You are not to blame, in any way shape or form!!! After all of this, burns, surgery etc, how did his hips come back
  8. Similar principle to putting blinkers on a horse.
  9. The same thing happened to my cousin's GSD.. Upon further investigation, it was found out that the vet clinic stuffed up & over-dosed him
  10. Cool, can't wait to hear what it's like.. I chickened out after doing a photo session with my dog Myah & my old crappy camera. She would not sit still, I had to keep grabbing her, dropped the camera, no myah, don't chase the swan, down, camera goes flying. So I grabbed a Fuji Finepix S2000fd ... point & shoot, and cheap enough that I wont get upset if I break it Get's delivered tomorrow. :D
  11. Indigirl, I'm so sorry, what a freak accident.. Too young, thank goodness he went quick little fella. (I sort of panicked at first, thought you were talking about Dol user 'Ripley' )
  12. yeah, I'm thinking that might be my problem. This will be my 1st SLR, so I'm thinking the KISS method might apply. (Keep It Simple Stupid) Hmmm, so much to think about.. I just want to take beautiful pictures
  13. :p Righty Rugerfly, which Nikon should I looksy at, got a budget of only around $1000. ;) efs
  14. Might try & duck up one week. I already have obedience on Wednesday nights, but it would do Ice the world of good getting out of the mundane military style of training for a night. Problem is, there is noooo way I could make it there by 6:30 How long are you guys planning to be out there for? 1 hr, 1.5, 2? eta: forgot to say; AWESOME idea Monelite & Ruthless!!!
  15. That's what's getting in the way of my decision!! Piper, thanks for your post, lots to ponder!
  16. Hey All, I'm looking at getting a new camera & this one has caught my eye. Has anyone heard anything about this camera? Thanks in Advance!
  17. Is this a question about letting them have a romp offlead, or a 'muzzled' romp offlead?
  18. In most cases it's a learned behaviour. Pick his poops up straight away, or sprinkle pepper on them as a deterrant. If you are feeding canned food (which is basically crap in a can anyway), it sometimes makes the poo more appealing.
