  1. Yep first in best dressed.
  2. This years entry is WAY down. 2200 in total. Plenty of room both for parking opposite at the school $20 + extra 20 if you have a trailer. And plenty of room in the dog pavilion both up and down. We arrived later after being stuck in traffic and got prime ringside benches without a fight! LOL
  3. Can you email me the second pic? Loves it!
  4. Well done as a mum of a winning junior handler who also has won BIS I can understand how proud everyone is! Well done!
  5. I have used this drug for years under supervision from my vet. Not had a problem with any dog. BTW Carprofen is Rymadyl. It MUST be given with food. ALWAYS or it can damage the stomach.
  6. This drug MUST be given with food. It must never be given on an empty stomach. I am sorry for your loss.
  7. Might have to go check it out Kiss!
  8. And a fine collection you have ma'am! :D
  9. So we gonna see Jake in a fluro suit handling Atty :D ;) :D
  10. If you have succesfully shown and trialled dogs in the past and intend to show and trial again in the future, then that is a very different scenario to the person who buys a pure bred main registered bitch or two, adds a "stud dog", gets a prefix and believes that makes them a breeder, without ever learning about the breed. Breeders do not need to show all the time and there is nothing wrong with taking several years off from the show scene when life gets in the way of showing. You also don't need to actually go to shows yourself if you can place dogs in show homes that will campaign them for you. The breeders I don't believe should be breeding are the ones that don't understand conformation, have never competed with their dogs or have given it a go and not been able to win anything because the dogs are not good enough. I have seen people with clearly inferior pet quality dogs try showing then instead of getting better dogs they decide to breed with what they have. Of all the Border Collie breeders listed on DOL, only about a third of them should be breeding. The rest in my opinion are registered puppy producers with no idea of what the breed should be, that have never been to a show and don't prove their dogs in work or performance. It sure does shed things in a different light. You obviously have some understaning of basic structure etc. In this case I would certainly not class you as a BYB
  11. In your opinion you might be breeding to the standard. But how the heck do you really know? You are not being assessed against your peers. You live 750k away from dog shows. How do you manage to compare and learn being so isolated and not seeing other whippets? I travel the world looking and learning. I am not elitist. I just want to educate myself. I am second generation in my breed and have been in it for over 40 years but still marvel in how much I still learn. Why not just buy yourself a quality Whippet from a good breeder. Why do you need your own bloodlines? What is the purpose? It makes no sense to me.
  12. I love how you can pull of orange Ash! It looks lovely on you. Sadly it is a colour that makes me look bleh............ I love organge but it hates ME
  13. Bright can look sensational on laides if it is done stylishly! It also can look equally as garish. Cut, colour fit all come into play. My royal outfit is very bright but it is a lovely suit. Not a clown suit LOL
  14. Why in gods name would someone just want to breed for the sake of it? We breed when we want our next show dog. We breed quality healthy dogs to the standard. We breed to IMPROVE the breed. To breed better with each generation. We don't breed to supply dogs to a world where there are thousands of dogs already not being properly looked after. We keep what we think is the best. Other pups in the litter are of quality (often very high show quality but we cannot show them all) are carefully homed and no expense is spared on the rearing, caring of these dogs We don't let our pups go before 10 weeks of age. We put a lot of work into planning our bloodlines, rearing the litters for weeks on end 24/7. There are heaps of pedigree dogs available form quality show stock. Why add more to the mix. In your opinion you might be breeding quality dogs but most of the time it is probably only your opinion. Seen plenty of these so called non show breeders churn out utter rubbish. Of my soap box now and prepared to be flamed but tough it is my opinion!
  15. Those that know me are aware I am a bit of a shop- a[-holic come clothes freak LOL Love to dress up. This is one of my favourite suits. Smart yet understated. This one was for the babies debut. Team Pink or otherwise known as the Pink Ladies
  16. I voted skirts because I wear them mostly. I do wear pants though on occasion and it really is a personal choice for women. Skirts for guys are a no no I think men in fluro suits look stupid. I like to see a man in a nice jacket and maybe a brighter tie. But the whole fluro suit thing makes me think they should be working as a stop go person! I think that presentation should be business like. Jackets, skirt suits pants suits etc for ladies. I love to dress for a dog show. We have it all down to matching leads, card holders etc. There is the odd time if both Bianca and I are handling the same breed we will coordinate our suits and wear the same colour.
  17. I have used in the past a horse product containing Tryptophan called Be Calm. You need to use it regularly (I put it on each feed) it worked really well. Have not used it in ages now but got one of the dogs through a silly stage. It is a powder I got it from a horsey store.
  18. I am still undecided on wearing my blue beaded number or going all out in head to to raspberry fusha! Both are stunning suits. I have Bianca's handler suit organised but that one is top secret at the moment. ETA all accessories to match, leads, bait bags number holders.
  19. Thanks Missymoo :D The problem is being in Darwin we don't have alot of choice of shops to go shopping at for this kind of attire for young girls I also don't want to spend too much as she will probably only wear it this once for the final and then will be back to good old tights under a dress(young kids these days!!!) A nice skirt and kids blazer would be perfect but I have looked high and low everywhere in Darwin and also online, and still can't find anything Her waist size in inches is about 24 inches. I have a time finding stuff for my daughter as she is tiny. Try these stores. I have found small jackets and great basic skirts at. Valley Girl Supre Alley Tempt I am sure in Darwin they would have these stores
