  1. Same here. I imagine we may use the same outlet. The ones I get are so big (long) I refer to them as dongers
  2. I have used it and found it to be very good. After using it I went onto breeders bags of Proplan.
  3. Hi Gomez, Kibble is dry dog food in lowest form. Little or no protein and very very low in fat. That is why it was fed to Greyhounds so as not to put on weight. All it does is to make a dog feel full. A lot of people refer to dry food as Kibble. One should always refer to the analysis. Typical analysis means just that. This batch might have so much fat the next batch may have more. That's why the manufactures use the word Typical. Maybe a better word might be average analysis. Guaranteed analysis is what you need on the bag. The manufacturers guarantee, what is stated on the bag is correct.
  4. I have just tried the Innova EVO I am most surprised at what it has done for the 12 month old that wasnt putting on weight. It has no grains in it. It appears to be a barf diet in a complete dry food. By the way Kibble is not a complete food. Kibble is is the name referred to just as a filler. If you are feeding Kibble, your dog is not getting much value from it. Years ago Greyhounds were fed Kibble with their meat. The Kibble was there to make them feel full without putting on weight.
  5. Sounds like a rather normal healthy dog to me. She digs because she enjoys it. It's fun to her, and who is going top her if she does it, if you are away working. So it's good fun, and nobody tells her, it's not the thing to do. I would suggest that when you are home and see this behavior, severely reprimand her for digging. Dogs work on two things, what's pleasing and what's displeasing. If you can, try and make the dog blame itself all the better. If you catch the dog digging maybe you could purchase a cap gun and fire it. (I use this method because my dogs don't like loud noises) Lets put it this way, they don't go down to that corner and bark at the cows any more. All they know is, if they try to, that loud nose will come and get them.
  6. Their is a thought that puppies eyes open so many days after conception. Sorry I have forgotten the exact number of days. Some breeds are more forwards in walking than others. Sometimes it also depends on how fat they are. Personalities can be from four to three weeks.
  7. Really is there much difference in picking it up in the garage as to picking it up outside. If your dog was in an enclosed area (kennel) you would have to still pick it up and dispose of it like the rest of us. People complain because their dog goes on the grass, some complain when the dog goes on the concrete. Your dog will get better as it gets older. When you put the dog outside just make sure the garage door is closed. Your Bulldog will soon get the message. Yes, it is perfectly normal for dogs not to want to go out in the rain.
  8. NOT before 8 weeks, 10 weeks here.
  9. All animals can live side by side. Just make sure you put a deceint fence between them.
  10. I am amazed that you have any chooks alive. If he had found a rat and killed it you would have been happy. To the dog the chooks are just big rats.
  11. Try adding some (plain label) pinapple crushed in the dogs food and add some juice to if the dog will eat it. Remember they are dogs NOT people. I just say they are very good Australians they re-cycle everything. If you find it upsetting don't go out and watch. :D
  12. There are many things you can do to get the ear to set correctly. You can purchase some tape from the chemist. I have forgotten the name of it but if you say the sticky one that looks like paper. Now, you can do several things. Just run the tape straight up the ear on the inside of the ear and it should sit straight up. If it doesnt apply another layer. If you purchase a very wide tape you can cut out a rough pattern of the ear and again stick on the inside. Same applies if it doesnt sit up straight apply another layer. Now if you want to get really technical you can purchase some pipe cleaners and cut to the length required and cut out an ear pattern on the sticky paper tape and stick the piece of pipe cleaner on the tape and stick it to the ear. Just make sure that nothing will cause discomfort from the pipe cleaner. If needed put a small piece of cotton wool on either end of the pipe cleaner. You can also enclose the pipe cleaner in between the layers of the sticky tape. Now if you don't want to do that you can purchase some Flexible Collodion from the chemist and paint the fur side of the ear till it goes stiff. It may take quite a few applications. Buy the way the stuff stinks, smells like a hospital to me. The smell goes away quite quickly.
  13. Yes, any dog that is barking for the love it is de barked here. It is legal in Qld. I have had quite a few done. Look, the problem with a barker can be horrific. The things I have been through to deter barkers is unbelievable. The dog is stressed I am stressed. Now day's straight to the vet. Yes, they may have a slight husky throat but it's usually only you that can hear them. It's such a simple op, takes about three minutes. Straight down the throat and they cauterise the vocal cords.
  14. The answer is so simple. Take the pup to the vet and him de barked. Problem solved. No more problems. Cost about $100 .
  15. Totally correct. Don't feed cabbage, onion, potato to dogs and garlic as well. Garlic is the same family as onion. I know people say to feed garlic as it worms and keeps flea's away. Garlic is a purgative. Yes it does have medicinal purposes but you would have to feed hugh ammounts for it to work. All vegatables for dogs MUST be pulverised for dogs. Yes, it is the cellulose that they can't digest. Why manufactures put it in dog meat and dog rolls in cubes beats me.
  16. Yes you remember corectly. Ti Tree oil is a big NO NO where dogs are concerned. I always remember the sign up at the vets. This displayed two products Dettol and Ti Tree oil with the warning that they can KILL.
