  1. Inform the steward that its your first time in the ring and they will tell you what to do and inform the judge as well. Sit by the ring and watch other breeds going in and see what the judge is making them do ie. triangle, out and back etc.
  2. I've got a weekend off, double in Berrima next weekend though.
  3. OH thinks hes found the perfect friend for Toppy
  4. OH just sent me this picture, its hard not to laugh...
  5. Fields are approx 18 inches tall. Between the size of a Springer and a Cocker.
  6. Nope not tabled. I've been asked to table Morgan twice now - one was an older judge and the cold weather was playing havoc with her arthritis so she was tabling any breed that could fit. The staffords looked mighty funny on the table
  7. Thanks Aziah She is doing me proud. Especially in the group line ups where I know she won't get looked at but she stands still in her stack. Such a little trooper!
  8. Oh god I am so sorry BB We will all miss you Bindi Boo
  9. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. My vet has said I was one of the unlucky ones - or rather Darcy was as the effects of his parvo come back to bite him even now 6 years later.
  10. His spine collapsed in 3 places around 2 months after the initial parvo - his spinal column then had the parvo virus infection in it. He was on antibiotics for 2 months for that. His vertebrae fused because of where the joints collapsed. Lucky they were ones not important for him walking etc. I do have to be careful not to push him to hard at agility and things like that. Hes also got ongoing digestive issues and has to have medication twice daily to prevent him throwing up. Unmedicated he would throw up 2-3 times a day. I didn't realise it was that bad. I was a bad mummy and slept in this morning and nearly forgot about his meds (all out of routine you know), I could tell he wasn't feeling right as he was curled up in his bed looking sad

  12. My boy is a survivor, but in your classification would not be a success as even now 6 years later he has repercussions from parvo. The pups would have got some immunity through mums antibodies but would need their vaccinations to ensure they maintain this immunity as they are no longer being fed by mum.
  13. You get points for challenge dog, challenge bitch and BOB. For challenge you get 5 points plus 1 point for every dog/bitch entered including yourself. So Morgie got 6 points (5 points + 1 for herself as she was the only Field). Baby puppies are not included in the count. BOB is 5 points plus 1 point for every dog AND bitch entered. BIG and BIS wins are the same but only to a max of 25 points.
  14. Oh cool, that sure beats camping! Morgan got 2 x BOB yesterday so I'm pleased she has 12 points now. Our next show is the gundog specialty down in Canberra next weekend.
  15. I've washed Morgie - you should have seen the amount of red dust I got out of her
  16. Shes converted havahug! I'll be cheering when she gets her first points with Toby!

I'm so sorry juice I know it must have been a hard decision to make. Run free Jed
  18. I feed Maximal to my two boys and found it great. Darcy can't have grain so its one of the few dry foods available for him. Considering he is a fuss-pot, the fact he eats it speaks volumes! He doesn't get a lot of dry, as PF its mostly to ensure hes getting the correct nutrients as he is fed mostly raw. Top just gets it because I can't be bothered having 3 different foods for 3 dogs... I tried my pup on Artemis Puppy and it didn't agree with her - my suspicion was the lack of beet pulp that is many other foods used as a filler. I've got her on EP which she is doing great on.
  19. Yeah just with coated breeds the more coat the better Not sure when I'm at HB next.
  20. Yeah you might be! Odds are I probably won't get BOB if its who I think is going.
  21. If you get BOB you go in for Group. If the winner of Group comes out of Minor then you don't have to go back in. If it doesn't you go in for Minor in Group as well.
  22. Hey Deb - yeah there are 2 Fields entered, Morgie will have competition! I find my trolley invaluable for putting all the stuff in so I can wheel it to ringside. Plus its great for grooming on too. I'm sure you will be fine with the Aussie. Set up in the Toy Ring and just walk down to the Working ring for the Aussies. They are early on so you won't clash.
  23. Yeah I do the same - at random times I will ask Morgan to free stack for me. Max is lovely
  24. Oh yeah thats what I forgot from my list...the dog
