No stress :D We will even sharpen on weekends. Nice coffee Yummy, come-on down, bring your jarmies as well.
  2. Hi there, we used to have a disclaimer on your front door(entrance) stating (YOU LEAVE YOUR ANIMAL AT YOUR RESPONSIBILITY & DISCRETION, ALL CARE WILL BE TAKEN TO ENSURE THE ANIMALS SAFETY) I don't think there is any insurances for animals in your care, well there wasn't once. When you have to restrain the animal with a muzzle to finish a job, try to use a wide shoe lace (sneakers) instead, a muzzle is to intimidating for a lot of animals, plus with the shoe-lace you are able to move it up & down to be able to trim the face, plus you can't get bit, it is much like tying the mouth of a crocodile. Follow the pix below. And tie it behind the head for a quick release.
  3. Koemi, the problem is the SOCKET that is wrong on your new blades, it is the way they were pressed when manufactured, all blades that we sell I always check that the blades fit all clippers, even when they are new still on the box, I always resharpen all new blades I don't trust overseas inexperience assembly workers, if any one sells new blades without making sure all is fine, they are fools, if you send them to me, I will have to reshape the socket to fit ALL CLIPPERS, not the other way around, only fitting your new Oster blades to 1 set of clippers, that way you will always have the same trouble with other clippers, and it will never end. Don't cry, I am always here to help any groomer/DOL nice person. If you are going to try my services(sharpening) why don't you purchase a DOL's VIP CARD, and always get 10% discount on all your sharpening from now on. Plus there are many other traders trying to offer their products to DOL members. http://www.dogzonline.com.au/vip/ I look forward to hearing from you, if you can't find me let me know, or ask other DOL members they will tell you, I am not allowed to promote myself, nicestman77.
  4. Hi there rovaround, next time you get your new Oster blades sharpened that don't fit your Wahl KM2 properly, get the sharpener to shape the SOCKET to the standard shape on each blade, so it/they will fit a Wahl KM2 clipper as well, the socket is the thing that fits to the hinge on the clipper, see pix below.nicestman77.
  5. Hi there Koemi, Oster blades are sharpened in Mexico nower days as are the Osters clippers are manufactured there as well, I would think that when the blades you have (new Osters) are not sharpened properly, as the use of cheap labor to sharpen them are not experienced enough, and I don't blame the sharpeners in Mexico, they just don't have the experience, to have a clipper blade sharpened properly you need a person that has been a pet groomer for many many years, to understand the problems and know how to diagnose problems, and been a clipper blade sharpener for yonks, clipper blades sharpeners have to do their apprentiship in the industry, if any sharpener misses out on any of the process, they have no idea of what a customer(groomer) is experiencing. When I first started to sharpen clipper blades I couldn't hear the blade when I was testing them before posting them back to the customer, but after 30 years I can here the blades actually scissoring. It takes time, the more one practices the violin the better the music is. To find out if it is the quality of the metal or the way the blade was sharpened when new, find a proper sharpener, and have one of the blades that didn't work properly sharpened, and then go from there. I wouldn't rush out and waste more money, Oster blades will be hard enough(carbon steel) They are no different than any other blade except for the Duralium blades which are made not to rust, and are the the same strength as Oster/Wahl/Laube, which all are made in Taiwan(cheap labor), Taiwanese can't sharpen clipper blades, and the Oster blades you ended up with had been sharpened in mexico. You are most welcome to send me a blade, and I will put it on my automatic machine FREE if it helps you to find out what is going on. Just add a stamp for return post. I would firstly use your Wahl on the low speed, the high speed clippers revs to high for blades to last long, at high speed the cutting is only ever done on the very tip of the blade, and then they don't last long between sharpening, this apply's to all fast revving clipper machines, the clipper blade was only ever designed 30 years ago to rev at 2100 spm(Oster) and not at 4000/5000 spm. Let me know if I can help. nicestman77. The video below is of a automatic sharpening in action. Automatic Hollow Grind Sharpening Machine
  6. Hi there Felix, to sharpen a CERAMIC blade top cutter, a special machine has to be used, it is a machine that has NO vibrations at all so you don't get CHIPS on the edges of the tynes, and it spins very high, when you put the cutter on the plate the cutter GLOWS like a light, and very fine dust comes of it, it has a diamond DEAD flat plate, there are only 7 machines worldwide, nicestman77. See the actual blade being sharpened in this link -->>
  7. Hi Guys, sorry to interven, and a bit late to boot.If you follow the details below HOW TO LOOK AFTER YOUR BLADES,you will get a lot more out of your blades life. HOW TO OIL & CARE YOUR CLIPPER BLADES! Thank you for wanting to know how to look after your equipment & blades. Below you will see a picture of a clipper blade, and the areas that is important to oil, where you see the YELLOW dots . only use a small drop of oil as it will end up in the next lot of fur it encounters, rememeber after you oil, let the clipper run for at least 5 seconds before you try to cut again, to let the oil to relocate all over the blade, and the blade to settle in, the main oiling has to oil from behind the tynes, not from the front of them. Also it is important to put a drop of oil onto the tip of the lever that moves the top cutter. If you oil correctly with Singer Sewing Machine Oil ONLY, it will soak into the pores of the metal, and when the blade gets hot, the oil thins & seeps back into play , hence lubricating the moving parts.(keeping things cool) You can buy "Singer Sewing Machine Oil" at any Woolworths for $2.00 for 100 mls. DON'T BUY HANDY OIL! TRY NOT TO USE THE OTHER COOLING AGENTS ON THE MARKET AS THE SINGER SEWING MACHINE OIL WILL DO THE SAME JOB FOR VERY LITTLE MONEY. If your blades goes FRIZZY in the coat after you get them back from the sharpener, it means that the tension is to tight, (hot blades) or not tight enough (cold blades), if this is the case email me back, and I will show you how to try to fix it, yourself, the blade maybe sharpe, but not set correctly, you yourself can do this with my FREE help. 8. Hi there Becky, sorry for the slow response, I was flat-chat sharpening, below is info to look after your blades. 9. Hi guys, here is some info on squeezing Anal Glands, it has to be done regularly, if you don't the little jets entering the Colon in the glands block some times, and the Anal Glands turns into a abscesses, then it blows out backwards, and if you don't treat it, things go downhill from there on, a good groomer should do it automaticly, but it is not really the groomers job to do it, it means the dog is on the wrong foods/diet, poohs are to sloppy! A dog has to squeeze hard his poohs out, and at the same time he expresses his own glands whilst in the act. Check the link below for the info in the pix.
  10. Hi there Daddles, "HALAMID" fixes the problem,if you know a farmer that milks cows, it is the same stuff that they rinse the teats with before milking, I used nearly the same, when I had a Mr Whippy truck to clean the stainless soft serve machine. You will find it here below. I THINK if you gave your animal a CANISTAN tablet for thrush from the local chemist, you will find it as the same as a fungus tablet from your vet(Grisovin),but remember adjust it to the weight of the animal compared to the weight of a human. http://www.google.com.au/search?sourceid=n...8&q=halamid http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&...earch&meta= Grisovin How does it work? Griseofulvin is a drug used to treat fungal infections of the skin, hair and nails. When given by mouth this medication concentrates itself in keratin, a protein which is present in all of these areas. It is thought to work by interfering with fungal cell growth and replication. It does not kill an established fungal infection but instead prevents infection of new keratin in these areas. It is frequently used to treat fungal infections of the nail-bed and ringworm (tinea) that has not responded to other forms of treatment. What is it used for? Fungal hair infections Fungal infections of the nails (onychomycosis) Fungal infections of the scalp Fungal skin infections, eg athlete's foot, ringworm, candida skin infections

  12. You'll find when you slide the top section across(the seperate piece) ,if it has no grip and slides across really smoothly it needs sharpening i think it's still $10 plus post What does it mean if you cant slide the top section at all? I've had a couple come back from sharpening like that or change to be like that within a few clips. If your blades come back from a sharpener, and you can't move the top cutter left or right it means they have over tightened your tension on the blade, the reason they do this is, it is the only way they can at least get the blades to work a bit, a good sharpener knows that if a blade is over tight it will destroy ones clippers in no time. A good sharpener knows the correct tension, Garry at clipperworld knows it, the tension has to be measured using a weight scale, and has to be static measured, if the tension is over tight the blade will overheat very quickly, plus it will roll the sharp edge on the tyne(cutting edge), the blade will get hot, and distort(warp), hence the blade stops working until it cools down, maybe. Now, if the tension is to loose, the fur will get between the top cutter, and bottom plate, and the fur will go fizzy(stop cutting) Anyone can buy a sharpening machine, but it takes 10 years plus to learn all the tricks, hope this helps, I am always available to answer questions, nicestman77.
  13. I support everyone, all breeds/natonalities that is what makes the world exciting as it is now. Cross breeding may or may not make/help things better for the future of the K-9 species. Pure breeding intensifies any faults a pure breed has in it's genes pool, sorry if this goes against your feelings, as I dont like to offend. I can only comment on my experiences. I used to show persian cats many years ago in Canberra, and I experienced the roth of Leukemia traveling through the Blue Persian breed because of a pure inter breeder of the Blue Persians species, believe me there was a lot of upset Blue Persian cat owners that loved their animals, and only the vets won out of it, not because they wanted to win, but when your animal is sick, you have to try to get help, and the vet is your next line choice, but it didn't help anyone, and then simular things happened with the Cavies(dogs) with inter breeding to do with their hips. Then there was the problems Maltese dogs had with their knees, Oh dear! The Dachshunds have spinal problems, and so on. poor little fellers. Longer and lower. I used to own/run a succesfull petgrooming shop in Canberra(Guinevere Petgrooming) we groomed 40 dogs a day for 18 years, and we saw some cruel things with pure breeds, 80% of them had some sort of problem, and they were the ones vets mostly treated compaired to the other mixed breeds dogs. The pure breeds where always going to the vet for something. ;) We were always told to watch their legs/back/his/knees/eyes, and so on. The mixed breed have not proved themselves as yet, it takes time, but for the future of K-9's it has to be tried, right or wrong, only time will tell. So I think this is where our qualified DOL breeders should come-in on the forum with their feed backs, it will be most welcome(good or bad)the most important thing here is our doggies. It would be disappointing to see our loved pets have problems because of the disease (Afluenza) This in the end only makes vets rich. There must be a more qualfied person on DOL that has studdied Genetics whom could put a fresher point of view on this subject.
  14. Thank you for your custom over the years, it has been great from my end, and I hope your end, nicestman77
  15. Thanks Andrea A vet at (All Creatures) Canberra We were really close(friends), he told me not to vaccinate my dogs every year, it is a waste of money, there was a thing online once, I lost it, but I don't do my dogs now, only the once when they were very young,,nicestman77.
  16. Dear Friends with dogs, A vet told me years ago you only have to vaccinate dogs at 9 weeks and 14 weeks and that’s it. Or one shot before 12 weeks and one after. Nothing before 8 weeks.nicestman77.
  17. Hi storm, view this ---> or go to this web address below, it might explain Osters most common faults, or try another sharpener, the integity of your sharpeners plate on their machine is very important, it doesn't take must to stop blades from working crisply, maybe your sharpener might not realise their plate is out of wack(worn), they would/might appreciate the feed back, I know I would. nicestman77. http://www.freewebs.com/clipperbladesharpe...bleshooting.htm
  18. Hi there settrlvr, did you know that the Double K clipper hand piece has a bearing it that goes rusty with age,and locks up whilst it is being used, which in-turn whilst you are holding the handpiece, then the handpiece spins in your hand at high speed, and if you are unlucky by holding it to tight, it SNAPS your wrist.Boom Boom, the rest is history.

  24. Hi there Curious. I have to agree with poodle3088I also, we service clippers professionally, I have for 28 years now, and I agree with you poodle3081, I have used all the brands of clippers available in my grooming life(salon), I groomed 40 dogs a day for 18 years, and we used Osters as well, we mostly used Osters in the winter months in Canberra, to keep ourselves warm, but in the summer months no way would we use them they just got to hot, the reason is that Osters still to date use brass bush bearings technology on the armature, that technology went out with the Sheram tank world war 2, the motor of Osters today are the old designed motors of yesterday 25 years ago, Oster USA will not change, or will they use roller bearings in their motors,(friction causes heat) I have asked Oster (USA) when they were going to use roller bearings on the armatures, and I was told they will never do it, but I recon one day they will have to follow in the footsteps of the more modern clippers (Wahl/Andis/Laube). By using roller bearings on the armature of a clipper, then you don't have to use 240v ac power. We found the Wahl KM2 clippers are ok, if when the cord breaks(12 months) that is normal for any clipper, just replace the cord with a totally new cord from the local hardware store, and get away from the Wahl cord, it is only a cord, all cords break. The Oster cords are to expensive, and the local supplier AU wants $47 wholesale for just a cord, then you have to fit it. My biggest concern with Osters is they use a bakalight casing, if that cracks/splits, and you are using them with sweaty hands you can get electrocuted from the 240Vac inside, and it is only 0.5cm away from your hands, so to me they are a health hazard(widow makers) because your hands are around the clipper in the grip position, one zap and you are gone. You have to ask yourself the question,(would you put your bare hand a 0.5cm away from a bare wire that has electricity running through it) I think not, it might ark across to your hands. That is how close the electricity is to your hands once the bakalight casing is cracked on the Osters. Wahl KM2/Andis AG2/Laube all use only 12v ac motors now for safety, at lease it will be only a small zap and they do what Osters do with 240vac, so you only have to look at the facts. Go to the site below to see the components used in a Oster clippers, Osters have 12 moving parts to do what Wahl/Andis/Laube clippers do with only 2 moving parts, and they both are roller bearings. For every part that moves you need more horse power to make it work, and it creates extra heat. All Oster clipper users, please when you see the bakalight case cracked, please get it replaced before it is to late. The other thing that worries me about Osters is they only give 3 months warranty if you use them in a grooming shop, where as all the other clippers have a full 12 months warranty Nicestman77.
  25. Hi there, the only difference between a human set of clippers is the guy that sharpened the blade, and the microns of the fur/hair, you need the right tension on the blade, and the blade has to be sharpened for that particular fur or hair , (Garry) ClipperWorld knows how to do it, not many sharpeners do, if you send your blade to a sharpener tell the sharpener what you are going to use the blade for, and they will compensate for it, most blades on human clippers were only ever sharpened by a kid (cheap labour) , that is why they are cheap to buy, animal blades don't work if they are not sharpened by someone experienced for animal fur,nicestman77.
