  1. yep...they toe the line after being sat on or a thumping great paw pinning them to the ground !!! or they might think he's an aniseed ball and  !!! fifi  He has no fear of the bigguns. Our male Maremma is huge and Alvin actually revs him up and trys to jump up and grab on to this neck. He stands over him with food trying to steal some so meals have to be closely supervised. He has been pawed many times by Forbee politely trying to tell Alvin to get stuffed but he just doesn't listen. He has the heart of a lion - or the brain of an ant
  2. Ummmm, why is she not staying with you? She looks like she's living the good life!! Great shots, she looks so happy Love your boofer in the background too :)
  3. Thanks guys, very chuffed he is back causing havoc at home :D Anne or Raz, I might just take you up on your offer one day - although you will regret it Much appreciated though!
  4. That was about the gist of it!! I've never seen him sleep so much he is soooo tired.
  5. I'm not that clued with in Am Bulldogs, but he looks like a real mix of breeds to me.
  6. Cute photo, and I agree I've been thinking the same thing today. :D
  7. I do want to strangle him each and every day anyway but he has been sleeping all morning so he has me lulled in to a false sense of serenity with his cuteness. I was in Palm Beach, Sydney. He is crate trained but the ticks are so bad there, no fencing and he is dirty indoors. He would have to be in a crate at all times except for toilet breaks which just isn't fair on him - and he would be vocal about it too! I had plans to catch up with friends each day and go shopping so I would have felt guilty knowing he was crated all day, plus all night. He is very active! I am going on a real holiday in March so am rethinking my options. I have the same girl house sitting and while I know she wouldn't take her eyes off him after what she went through, I think she would be relieved if he just wasn't here altogether. Last time I went away I boarded him with a friend in Sydney but I don't think she's keen to have him back....... I do have dogs runs though so I guess she could just treat him like a boarder, but he really loves being with us inside etc. He is snoring at my feet now!:D
  8. I would like to but just couldn't do the drive plus I paid the poor sitter for the time I booked in so now I can't afford to go back. I woudl take him with me this time though and board him with my friend in Sydney. Just going to chill out at home and enjoy him. Gee I wish I knew where he was!! All I can think is someone picked him up from my driveway. Even if he did get out there I just know he wouldn't wander and it would explain the Maremmas going off when he disappeared. Then him being returned when they were going off early this morning. I dunno', it's all I've got. He is hyper so someone would have gotten more than he bargained for, or someone suggested he dug out of a local yard after being taken and came home, hence the dirty face.
  9. I put a big sign up on my front gate yesterday that we were missing our pug too, wonder if someone saw it there and just chucked him back over the fence. Just so weird. It would explain the Maremmas going nuts earlier. Gee I woudl love to know his story.
  10. Well, you won't believe this as I don't!!! But Maremmas were going nuts this morning at about 5am, I got up but couldn't see anything. Just got out of bed and who was at the door????? Bloody Hell!!!!!!!!!! Just can't beleieve it! Someone has been feeding him tho as he is a little fatter than when he left! I had put posters up everywhere yesterday and door knocked, I put that he needed meds for thyroid issues - which I do have a problem with morally as I think then if all dogs apparently need meds then people who keep the dog might not believe it for a dog who really needs meds but I was selfish and couldn't stop myself! As soon as I let him in he cocked his leg on the dining table leg  Little turd who gives me no end of grief is home :D Just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone here for their support, the PM's of offering to help too. I am truly touched and just reading your messages of support throughout this had made me feel not so alone. Thank you Thank you Thank you! I really felt in my heart that he was gone for good. Grace has him in a death squeeze on the couch watching tele with her.
  11. No, I agree but im grasping at straws now. Have even checked the freezers, BBQ, back of drawers in chests - stupid unlikely places bbut that's what it's come to! I think the fact that he didn;t show up for dinner last night means he's really in trouble or taken off - anyone with a Pug would get what I mean!
  12. There are dams and water sposts which have all been searched many times over. Pers, house paddock is about one acrea so don't know if that is enough room to swoop. Have jsut done this page, would really appreciate it if ppl could ciculate it. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Alvin-the-Missing-Pug/297632416953672?sk=wall
  13. I took her with me earlier but she showed no signs of knowing where he was. I have no rabbit burrows here but will certainly check further afield. I know this might sound silly, Alvin is a small Pug and also lean and fit. I wonder if a large bird of prey took him? I know it sounds stupid but perhaps one was circling for a chook or something
  14. Police said I cant list him as stolen as I have no verifiable reason to believe it. He's listed as missing with all the pounds etc. Lovely girl at a pound ages away put him in the system for me, much more helpful than pounds closer to me who just took my details but not his chip details.
  15. It just doesnt make sense that he would leave the other dogs to come looking for me being the kind of dog that he is ie very into the other dogs and home. Also for the last 2 weeks Ive been feeding pets for neighbours on either side of me and driven off then but left all dogs within my fenced garden and he hasn't come after me. He was here for 3 hours after I left, if it was immediate then perhaps more likely? Ive just searched all drains and surrounds again, this time really going under the hedges. I am really beginning to believe he is just not here. All the neighbours properties have been searched too. Going to go back and go thru the neighbours horse paddock again in case horse kicked him or something,
  16. No not large, thanks Anne that's kind of you - just 2.5 acres. I had an army of volunteers searching every nook and cranny here yesterday and again this morning. About 10 people searched high and low, dams on properties around me were even waded in to and scraped as much as possible and one small sized neighbour even got on her tummy and shimmied herself all around under the house. I am so grateful to have such caring neighbours all searching for me when I wasn't here. The fellow next door reckons he's been stolen, but even then it doesn't make sense as I am fenced and even if he did get out somewhere he just wouldnt go anywhere and I am down a quiet country road. Petbarn did say two Pugs have gone missing in Mittagong, presumed stolen but I am half hour away and it just seems too random given my location. Just finding a body would make me happy in a strange sense, just to know that he will come to no further harm IYKWIM. He is Trouble but not confident out of his territory and very much bonded to Esme (SBT), I don't believe he would have the balls to leave the property even if he did get out. The only place I can think of is the big pine hedges along my driveway, he comes with me to take the bin out and loves eating the neighbours cats poo under the hedge. They are huge pines though and very thick under there and no doubt snakes, so I cant get a really good look all the way through. I am waiting for my neighbour on the other side of the pines to come home so I can try from his side too. It has already been done by the search party yesterday but that is all I have now.
  17. I know, you're right, I am just so tired and have Grace sobbing her eyes out so I'm starting to lose it a little. Off to walk around a bit and look some more, it just makes no bloody sense
  18. Have just bee in the car for 6 hours so Im absolutely buggered. Still no sign of him have put posters up everywhere on my back here (home), resgitered him as Missing with all the pounds, contacted police and dropped of a flyer - done the local dog park, pet stores, all vets in teh area etc etc. I dont know waht else I can do. Grace is out going over the property again and again. I hve to find him, I can't just not know what happened. I am going to try to set up a facebook page as my personal page is private so not much use. thanks for your well wishes and messages of support. Starting to feel very despondent. He is a crazy little nutter but also very predictable so it just doesnt make sense. Police can't register him as stolen as I have no proof or even a reason to be suspicious - it's just a mystery. Poor housesitter has just left, she stayed up til 1am in the hope he would turn up, she left all outside lights on and so the Maremmas barked all night and she got no sleep, poor girl.
  19. Thanks guys, it is typical of Alvin to get where he shouldn't be, such as cupboards, coops etc but numerous people have searched and searched and triple checked and thens omeone else has gone over then checked all the spots again. If unijured he would start barking from dinner time onwards. He is often getting locked places, he was shut in the shower last week for a while No gates were left open due to stock/other dogs. If he really really wanted he could probably squirrel his way out but it doesn't make sense, he wouldn't toddle off and leave esme plus he is a real home dog and never had the urge to go too far. /he is very woosey outside of what he knows too., but still, thats why im heading home tomorrtow,i just want to check evrrywhere super throgouhly and know for myself that the whole place has been gone off over with a fine tooth comb. lovely neighbours have already gone thru the neighbours dam, all i can think now is that someone has picked him up ion the very off chance that alvin got out and went up to the rd, it still doesnt make sense. i know my dog the way we all day, but i guess i have to be open to ome unpredicabltiy. sorry about crappy typing, using another computer and feeling too tired to check/fix. To the lovely epople who offered to help, I cant tell you how much I appreciate that but my dear stepd dad has just printed off many many fliers and so im feeling pretty organised and will get amongst it tomorrow. it will give me something to do! Any other suggestions gratefully recieved. Thanks to those FB'ing, all help is awesome!
  20. Thanks guys, still no sign Poor house sitter and neighbours have been out searching for hours. I have a terrible feeling..... even if he did take off somehow he knows dinner time is 4pm and wouldn't miss it for the world. I'm heading back home first thing tomorrow so will do what else I can do once back home. Your support means a lot, I've never had a dog go missing before, it's just the worst feeling. I keep bursting in to tears thinking someone has picked him up and will keep him, I am so worried he will be mistreated as he is really hard work and not for everyone. - he is also a real home body and is such a happy, loving little guy. Whatever happens I just want a body dead or alive so I can have closure. My 7yo isn't quite grasping what has happened and I am not able to let across how serious it is without losing it myself which I think is just too early on to weigh that on her. We've worked out a timeline so he definitely didn't get out to follow my car, I left at 11am and the house sitter said he was there at 2pm. She had a lie down on the couch for half hour and when she got up he was gone.
  21. thanks Rebanne and others for your support. I am sobbing like a baby. He is a little shit and a nightmare of a dog but I love hgim so much and he is also the lgiht of my daughters life. Even though he is a turd running away is not his thing - food is everything to him and he wouldnt want to miss any meals! It's pouring with rain there now and blowing a gale. My only thought is that he has gone in under the house and found the abandoned duck egg nest form where the girls went broody but I blokced their access off from their side of the garden. Then Im thinking a snake would love those duck eggs and maybe Alvin has been bitten. It's not accessible for people so no way of knowing if he's therem being black he is hard to see.
  22. I know it's a long shot posting here but I am away on holidays and am feeling helpless. I just left today but obviously will cut my holiday short and head back home tomorrow. Alvin has been missing since lunch time. He is a black desexed 12 mo(approx) Pug. No collar, for safety reasons. I am starting to worry that a snake has gotten him as he cant bef found anywhere within the garden or even around the area. Friends/Neighbours are all out looking and searching high and low. Avoca, Southern Highlands, NSW
  23. I agree that she sounds like a goose, but also think ti would have been wrong of her to reprimand any other owners in front of the class. They shuold be pulled aside at the end for friendly chat and alternative suggestions - you only get people offside if you question what they are doing in public. Your little dog sounds gorgeous, I wouldn't be worried about him. My little Pug pup did not leave my feet for the entire 5 lessons of PPS and he growled at the other pups when they came near him. Trainer was great though, I'm surprised we got our little certificates at the end as Alvin put on the brakes and would not do one thing for us He's perfectly normal (outgoing/psycho) at other times.
