What if your neighbours weren't home while you were out? How do your animals have access to free themselves plus also be safely contained? Genuine question - my neighbours all work, if a fire started here all my pets would be burnt to a crisp as I have gone to a lot of trouble and cost to ensure all my animals are contained appropriately.

I bought a Robomaid about 8 ? months ago. I'm getting increasingly disappointed with her due to a variety of reasons and now mostly just use my Dyson.

I have groomed some shockers - very snappy, but then in the past 5 years I have only groomed awesome ones. My neighbours have a Scottie who I adore. They have him clipped very practically.

You certainly have a rare SBT! If he's not a mad chewer you could always get him a heated bed when the winter hits. Good luck! :)

Some friends of mine are after a cattle dog. Must be farm friendly and good with other dogs, they have sheep and chooks but they are fenced off separately. They also have a bossy female JRT. I can't remember the rescue site for ACD's? Is there even someone who specialises in them? It will be a lovely indoor home on acreage. Older retired couple (but healthy/active etc) so probably best not to have a dog that bounces off walls. Cheers.

Have a look here: https://www.petwaypetcare.com.au/about-us/general-product-info.html It's what I use for my business (mostly). If you contact them they may be able to do some sort of discounted sponsorship? Worth a try! -

And he then goes on to say the exact same thing to those of us with rottweilers! Every bloke on the street has a mate with a bigger rottweiler than any of ours, his mate's rottweiler weighed 70kg, don't you know!! Man I miss the rolly eyed man right now! Yup, I get this a lot too. Constantly meeting bogans who like to inform me that their dog is bigger than mine. The figure is ALWAYS 70kg too. Really? You have a 70kg malamute? You must be so proud! My plumbers Rotti was 100kg  -

I over heard an older couple at some markets a few weeks back - the woman commented to him on my Pug, and I heard her companion say "Oh, he is a Pit Bulldog" -

Mmmm, not too sure about that. I've always heard that an Isa is from a RIR and White Leghorn. -
From a pet owners POV, I love how the Sibe handler kept patting her dog and let it have fun when it won - I assume it was second place? All lovely dogs!

Just put them out for a bit and extend the time out each time, they will soon adjust.

Quarantine - Seems Not To Be Important Anymore
Clyde replied to Bartok's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
I find this abhorrent as well and incredibly selfish. A while back I was looking for a Maremma pup but had to rule out perfectly good breeders as I refused to transport the pup. Puppy buyers and breeders are affected by the selfishness of some rescues. I phoned one transport company who said they only transport vaccinated rescues - all well and good, but they aren't quarantined prior to transport so what difference does it really make. -
It was a member of the dog owners family (my friend) who phoned to check. The dog owner feels awful about it and has morally done all the right things but is now concerned after her relative (my friend) said she could be in deep poo. I guess they are now just worried about the legal ramifications so I said I'd ask the DOL folk. The neighbours didn't see the attack but the dog owners were home when it happened and rushed the cat straight over where the owners were home and took the cat straight to the vet. So at this point they don't know if the cat made it or not.

Thanks Melz, that's been a big help, much appreciated. I agree with you too, while I am a cat over I completely understand why a dog would do this.
-
But wouldn't almost killing the cat be classed as 'unreasonable aggression'? Appreciate the help with this too, Cheers.

A friend just phoned to tell me that a friend of hers has just moved house and her SBT has attacked the neighbours cat. The neighbours cat must be used to the yard. The cat might not live. Anyway, the dog owner is paying for the vet bills, she has phoned council and has been told that she can have her dog deemed dangerous due to 'unreasonable aggression'. I can't remember the clause number in the Comp Animals Act, think it might have been 32. The dog owner actually wants to pay for the cats vet bills as she feels awful but is concerned about the council side of things. She always keeps her dogs in a safely fenced so it hardly seems fair to me. I am sure I have seen on here that a dog owner is not liable if the cat is on their property? Turns out it's not the case.

Ten years ago I wouldn't have been able to let it go These days I just grin and bear it. The 'mastiffs' online are still something which irritates but as a groomer I have lots of "Shih Tzus" and "Maltese Terriers" which come in and I just can't be bothered. Just recently I groomed a "Shih Tzu" they adopted from a pound which was a rough coated JRT  I do a lot of mixed fluffies which all get called Shih Tzus by their owners.

Just get a can of black spray paint! Make sure it is enamel and it lasts for ages. I have sprayed a lot of stuff here which gets knocked around and no chips yet.

Jessie Has Had Her Operation :)

I thought Dead Wombats post was funny , but still didn't doubt the legitimacy of the OP. Just a bit of dry humour - no harm done as it's all been cleared up -
She is gorgeous! I've not ever been a GSD fan but after hanging out with a local breeders dogs I now see the light and think they're wonderful :D. Congrats

A lot of vets have been offering this for a few years now - and about time! I use Nobivac for all my dogs now.

? Why should I do that and to whom? I'm not the one dealing with it at the moment, I simply gave my opinion. I don't even bother to contact breeders who advertise all their pups on mains so it's not an issue for me.
