  1. I love Dogues and love what I hear about them from their owners but have only ever personally known really hyper ones
  2. There are often Frenchie and British Bulldogs scams on the net, I've also seen some Saint Bernard ones.
  3. Definitely not a pure bred Bengal, despite the black 'gene'. Gorgeous photos nevertheless, a very lovely family
  4. I'm sorry for your loss, he looks like a dear old boy.
  5. I would say don't do it (get a female) but defer to the poster above who's had them for over 40years. As a groomer I've found Airedales difficult and quite feisty with other dogs but realise it is perhaps weak ownership? I love grooming them to see the finished result but do do an inward groan when a new person books one in
  6. I can't let this go unanswered. You do not know anything about the previous owners. I've had a dog with mange. Yep, my Pug recently had a bout of mange. He looked awful but is very much loved and cared for (all better now though)
  7. I did read the whole story, very closely. Like I said it is not K9Angels fault that the kitten was shot but Cookie should have had veterinary care since day one. Cookie would have been in a lot of pain and that is what makes me feel sick. If an animal can not use their back legs there is something going on and they should not have been sent away from medical care undiagnosed and certainly with no pain management.
  8. Friends of mine are currently looking for the right dog and they are pushing 80 and probably fitter than I am! They walk every day, spend a lot of time gardening on their property and have certainly opened my eyes not to write people off because of age. Other friends (I live in a community with older people so have started to hang out with them  ) are in their 70's and have just bought a one year old Dane. She runs them ragged but they keep up well as they are so fit and active. You wouldn't guess either of them are their true age.
  9. As a groomer I have 3 different tables. Two of them are Liberty and one is from Ebay, very similar if not the same to your link. This is the one I prefer due to the shape, height etc - although the basket underneath was annoying so I got rid of it. If you back it up against the wall you shouldn't have trouble with your dog jumping off. I have all sorts of grooming arms etc and rarely use them. As your hands are mostly on the dog when you groom it is easy to keep the dog on the table. The H frame will come in handy though until they get used to it.
  10. Awww, I'm sorry for your loss
  11. I'm so sorry about Cookie. I know you didn't pull the trigger but I feel sick that it took 9 days to get a clearly unwell animal to a vet.
  12. I bought two of these yesterday. I heated one at 5.30pm and it was still warm at 9am.
  13. I think it all depends on which colour you have?

  15. A force dryer? You can't get better than Oldfields IMO, especially for a Bernese.
  16. I second this, brilliant stuff!! Thanks guys. I will pop over to the vet in the morning and pick up a bag. I am sure she'll love it too. She loves her grub. :) It's tinned food, for critical care patients. I use it for my chooks when they're sick, very rich in nutrients. It's not too exy either, considering. http://www.hillspet.com/products/pd-feline-ad-caninefeline-critical-care-canned.html
  17. I've had a needy dog before, he was also very dominant. I implemented NILIF * and it helped enormously. Either way it certainly sounds like you have are very aware, he is very lucky to have found such a caring, switched on owner. *rushing out so can't find direct link but if you go to http://www.k9pro.com.au/#t you should find more info on NILIF.
  18. Actually, scrap that unless you leave your dog inside a locked secure yard. I would worry about her being pinched.
  19. Take her around to meet the builders and see what's going on. Sometimes if they know what it is there they don't bother barking.
  20. Good on you for taking him on!! I'm curious why your Mum left him in the trolley? I'm sure she had good reason, it just seems odd to walk away from a kitten in need and call someone else IYKWIM. You probably already know but hot water bottle can cause serious internal burns, just make sure he can move away from it. He looks so gorgeous, is he tabby?
