That is the only kennel in that area that I wouldn't recommend. I have had so much bad feedback about that place and went and had a look myself and thought it was awful. All the dogs were thrown in together out in the rain and soaked through. When I enquired years ago they wouldn't keep my dogs separate and said they had to go in a large group. Marendale Kennels will board dogs separately though. I know it's further out for you but there is a brilliant kennel here in the Southern Highlands called Kelston. They do exactly what the owner wishes. No enforced group time, heated floors, rugged at night, special diets etc etc. Dogs who aren't to socialize with strange dogs still get outside time each day in grassed runs.

Rehoming Dogs With History Of Livestock Attacks?
Clyde replied to tobie's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
I've rehomed rescues who have killed chooks and one who has killed a cat. The chook thing is totally acceptable IMO, the cat thing made me uneasy but she found an owner who was aware and responsible. I am sure one or two of my own dogs would kill a strange cat! -
There is a member on here called PAX who a lot of people use and recommend (PM her through the members list). Otherwise there are some good kennels in the Duffys Forest/Terrey Hills area. Hopefully someone with first hand experience will share their recommendations soon :)

They have them for chooks, from memory they are called Grandpa Feeders. Perhaps this might work?

Definitely don't leave it there. Offer it to her, leave it for 15 minutes. If she doesn't eat then take it away and wait til her next meal time. If she is used to eating Weetbix and Woolies dry food (both terrible foods!!) then mix it over slowly to a food more appropriate for a dog. Look at some premium kibbles from your pet store. Don't change her diet suddenly. The breeder sounds less than desirable/caring, so you will need to put it in the extra education she has lost from not staying with her mum and litter mates. I would also worm her. If she's not drinking that is not a good sign so I woudl take her to the vet as well. eta: snap Sandra

It's a long way back if things don't work out and Pugs find local homes pretty easily so there is no need normally for them to have to go interstate. I prefer local homes for my fosters rather than interstate. Plus Pugs might not fly well due to their flat faces and a road trip is a long way too. I guess, why put them through the stress of a travel when there a perfectly good homes locally. :) Still, even if the ad says no interstate adoptions it still doesn't hurt to ask. One of my fosters is going interstate as the home is just so wonderful the adopter won me over.

Just because a member has a difference of opinion it doesn't make them a troll! Yet when someone signs up just to post in one thread about that one opinion, loudly, it does make them a troll. Lots of people lurk without signing up. When they see a thread of interest they join to contribute. She is not breeder bashing. It's a fact, registered breeders do get parvo. Hardly. Sorks has also posted about their dog and pancreatitis. Trolling? I think not. Sorks is not running around saying all breeders are the scum of the earth. They are simply stating facts. There are bad ones out there (just as there are good ones). God forbid that someone should be allowed to say that they've had a raw deal from a registered breeder *eye rolly man* I know I have! I've had good ones too. If I post about my bad experiences it is not breeder bashing or trolling, just stating fact.

I agree. While I don't agree with pups/kittens being sold in pet shops, my local pet shop is a really good independent one and sells the occasional 'oops' litter for locals. This particular pet shop would provide a heck of a lot more to the pups that some reg'd breeders. There is good, bad and acceptable in all the possible scenarios of where a pup can come from. But if a puppy buyer can find an ethical registered breeder who puts their all in to their pups then there is no comparison IMO. These sort of breeders are definitely out there too! It is just a shame that they can be difficult to find for those puppy buyers who aren't savvy, educated 'shoppers'.

Concerns About Other Persons 'playing' Style With My Staffy Pu
Clyde replied to staffyowner1971's topic in Puppy Chat
Absolutely make him stop. I know it's hard to do it without offending people though. I find people tend to do it with more 'butchy' types breeds too. I had people slap either side of my SBT's face repeatedly riling her up to bite. Not hard slaps but you know what I mean? Try doing it in a way where you can perhaps show him how you are trying to teach Luna a trick and have him join in? Or just bull $hit and say Luna got too rough with a small child and you need to nip that behaviour in the bud. Yep, I know it's lying but a white lie so you don't risk offending him but also get your desired outcome.... -
There is a PP store up the Beaches which would often have Maremma X Border Collies

Borzoi Rescue - Thanks To So Many!

Here Here! Well done to you too -
They didn't give us an ending on Lucy. She was the one who got to me, we know Fergus, the Poodle and Aimee/Tess all got great homes but what about the Lab Lucy, who was old and been used as a puppy machine? My daughter fell in love with Fergus
-
I second this. HAve you tried rinsing with ACV after too?
-
I deal with it the same as Huga. I completely get other people putting frills on it but I dealt with it fairly simply and my daughter accepts this.
-
Exactly. Don't get too excited guys!

He is gorgeous but no Wolfhound in sight I'm afraid. Looks to be a bull breed mix blended perhaps with a couple of other breeds, lovely looking boy :)

I have used these before with SBT's with great success http://www.kumalongs...504faf031a18e78 I was skeptical but they really work!

Advice From People Who've Had New Babies And Dogs - Tension At Hom
Clyde replied to booge's topic in General Dog Discussion
If the budget allows it have a think about a dog walker, or doggy day care a few days a week. I know when I had my baby I was constantly feeling guilty about the dogs not getting walked as much so hired a dog walker. They came home tired, and I was more relaxed knowing they were exercised and so I was able to enjoy them more. I know a lot of other women though whose dogs were put on the back burner when they had a child and some rehomed their dogs. Not something I would judge as kids really do change everything for some people, can't be helped. -
I agree. It was just a terrible accident.

I'm so sorry Teebs. I have always loved seeing pics of Atlas, he seemed like such a well loved character.

It works and it doesn't. I don't take my Pug on long runs with my Stafford. But at home they play really well together. Then I have 3 Maremmas too which are vastly different from the other two. They all get along within reason though. I think it boils down to what you want to do with the dogs, and if long walks is something you do could they match each other?

Good choice, you won't be disappointed. I've treated mine dreadfully and used it commercially. I've had it for about 14 years and only a few months ago it needed a new switch! Was about $10
