  1. I agree with Persephone. I also don't agree with muzzling dogs in this instance, best to just keep separated and take it slowly. I think given your old girls issues that perhaps a dog who retaliates is not the answer, sounds like she needs a very submissive dog who will back away from confrontation rather than react. Tough decision for you.
  2. I guess she is old school. Good Yorkies can be very hard to get so they should rehome in a snap if a rescue takes them on.
  3. It's very simple but clean and the owner is good to deal with. What it doesn't mention though that it is a duplex and so a different rental is upstairs. Also I think someone might live in the garage too We were a bit peeved off the first time we stayed and realised it wasn't so private but had such a lovely time we still go back. Great kiddies park just down the road too, plus kiddies pool at the beach.
  4. Vincentia has a good dog beach too. Think the one above is booked out try here: http://www.stayz.com.au/57026 This is owned by family, don't know about quite a few dogs though plus it's not fenced. Close to dog beach though http://www.stayz.com.au/82419
  5. I've stayed here before. Accom is very basic but it has a pool and yard is fenced in http://www.stayz.com.au/26368 Dog beach is 5min walk.
  6. Sorry for your loss, he looks gorgeous
  7. They certainly are - especially when you see them doing what they're bred to do. I could watch mine for hours.
  8. Me either! My Pug is crated at night to stop him toileting all through the house. If he was crated for 7 hours during the day and then 9 hours at night, that is way too much. That's being crated for the larger portion of his life. I find crates great for toilet training and for giving chew treats if you have multiple dogs. I have one in the study which I use when we have visitors and the Pug sleeps in one in my bedroom. I have to be sure the doors are closed when not in use though as my Stafford loves crates so much she guards them from the other dogs which causes problems.
  9. I could look at photos of your dogs all day, lovely picture!
  10. Not if it's unavoidable. It's not as if Jaybeece is setting one dog upon another. I don't get why you would bother even mentioning that
  11. I've had boys fight and they get over it. It's two bitches I find don't get over it so quickly. Same with us humans really :D
  12. I have used both many times with no problems but it is not advised as it is the same chemical.
  13. Could you try baby socks with the non slip grips on the soles?
  14. Would you use a public bath to clean yourself in?:D As a groomer I've washed dogs with manky skin falling off, ringworm, poo etc etc. I know I disinfect it but know lots of places that don't. In fact, whenever I worked for other people they only did a once weekly clean out. I get grossed out by stuff like that though.
  15. Great idea!! I wish they'd hand them out here too Better than those awful citronella things.
  16. I've not ever had a dog breeder who I felt was prepared to hold my hand through any issues. Instead I've turned to other breeders via DOL. You seem like an awesome breeder with after sales support but they are far and few between away from DOL.
  17. Same! Plus I like varied opinions and not all breeders like being asked a question every time the dog moves. I think Thomas is doing the right thing as he is obviously still learning and this way he gets more varied advice to pick and choose from what suits him. He certainly won't be ill advised here as forum members would jump up and down if someone gave him poor advice
  18. Are you showing him? If not, does it really matter? I can't even remember my dogs pedigrees names as they are of no importance to me.

    Puppy Runs Off

I would certainly not advise this for any puppy owner, let alone the owner of an SBT. I agree. I only let my pups meet other dogs in a controlled environment. It only takes one bad experience to ruin a pup and SBT's need extra cautiousness. I avoid off lead dogs like the plague with my pups.
  20. I'd be looking here- http://www.dogzonlin...ull-terrier.asp Thanks, they're aware of that list but as the other posters above said it doesn't make them ethical breeders just because they're registered. A personal recommendation from people in the know is always best.
  21. Could anyone point Bud Buns in the right direction for a breeder? It's so hard finding the right ones and even the unethical ones can be lovely to chat to on the phone. It always helps to have a good start with a few recommended breeders.
  22. You see, I don't get that either. Like another poster my daughter has exceptionally blue eyes and people always comment *. As a baby, people would often stroke her head or touch her cheeks etc and it's just never bothered me. Same with touching my tummy when pregnant, people are just trying to share some joy. I think society is becoming so intolerant and cold towards strangers. I guess it's my country upbringing of being friendly to passersby, people at the shops etc. * Off topic even further but people comment so much on my daughters eyes that now when they say 'what blue eyes you have', she replies "I know, they're the bluest eyes in the world" Out of the mouth of babes. She has come to seriously believe it as she has grown up with strangers telling her that all the time.
