  1. I second Oakway stay positive and hugs to you all J
  2. Excellent Post SBT I heard a while back a APBT was being trained in search and rescue wouldnt it be rather funny in a good way if that dog was used to locate the missing polly that was lost in the mountains the other day?? I guess they would probably say the dog was going by its hunger instict!! Rather than a pat on the back, I wonder if the dog was ever used as a search and rescue, I will email Ivy and find out, was a few years a go. J
  3. I for one hope the below comment is not true!! My dogs name is Taha Daha which is Spanish for vicious one, I do hope you are wrong in a nice way!! J so you think a dogs behavior is decided by its name...? I never do but I do think that the choice of a dogs name can say a lot about the owners.
  4. Bella says I am, so terribly sorry I just couldn’t stay To be by your side and run, bark and play. I cherish the times we had together But some things just cant be, forever. Please don’t be angry and don’t be mad I didn’t go to make you both sad. Remember the times we had that were filled with laughter but forget all the fun naughty bits that spelt disaster! Nothing we did will ever be bad. It’s a journey we all go through Some bits happy, some bits sad. Please don’t cry for I am still here, I am not far away, I will always be near. Remember the raindrops that fall from the sky They fall on your teary face, the breeze blows it dry. I am here, I am there, as I've been from the start, I am your golden haired girl ,I’m engrained in your heart. What a fabulous gift you gave me, the most precious I know, The gift of unselfishness, a decision to behold. You took me to the bridge and held me in your arms I suffered no longer and felt the warmth of your hands. Bless you always, and look after Boss Remember the good times and not the loss. For I am here and I am there, as Ive been from the start engrained forever in both your hearts. Bella xoxox J
  5. Reputable as in ok I gather BUT never mind the reputable bit its ILLEGAL to have an undesexed APBT as according to all state laws they were supposed to be desexed ?? I often wonder how here in WA there are APBT puppies available when the "Law" states they must all be desexed. I am a supporter of all dogs are equal just some are more equal than others and no breed is dangerous, its down to an individula dog rather than a whole breed. There is only one loop hole and that may have been closed now, that was importation of semen, a few years back I called customs and there was no laws to ban the importation of semen, may have changed now though!! J
  6. there you go, Positive and more positive, trust me never dwell on the negative!! Treat yourself to a $20 book called "Who moved my cheese " By Spencer Johnson, or get it from the Library! It makes sense and works. Good luck with any future tests J
  7. Good point APBT, typical RSPCA comment. I do hope this ridiculous legislation gets sorted soon one way or the other. The people need to be registered and not the dog. By the way is that your dog in the pic, I want those ears they look like Xolo ears! J
  8. All I can say Lucys mumma is wait till the tests are done then all will seem a bit clearer, its too hard to pre guess what it may be and nobody here on DOL or anywhere can tell you that, this is why the vet wants to do the tests ( even he is unsure) Wait and see, you never know it may not be as bad as first thought, be strong for your girl, thats the best you can do at this stage, I am sure your partner loves you heaps and will understand at this very hard time. Hugs and lots of good prayers coming your way xoxox J
  9. Rubyred I feel for you and send hugs, I am sure the vet will come to your home, vets are amazing people and are there for the animals and us humans more than we know. I can only speak as to what I have done. My dogs have passed to the bridge as in Heart attack and had to be PTS at vets when I wasnt there, both dogs I had cremated, I took them to the crematorium myself as I thought I owed it to them, like our last drive in the car. This was my way of dealing with the fact I was not there for them. It took me ages to find the right container that was them, in fact 2 years! Having the courage and unselfishness to give your pet its wings is the most heroic thing one can do for a pet and a real act of love that truly shows the love one has for their pet rather than themselves. Hugs J
  10. They look wonderful; thank you so much, I shall email you private re further the drawings thank you again! J
  11. Mokhahouse I share this very odd story with all as if it may save a dogs life its well worth it, I double bag all my rubbish but CCs are little terrors for food and old fatso will go and open the bin to get at stuff! Good to hear Mokha is on the mend. All the best with him. J
  12. I had the same with a CC bitch, she had not eaten in days, though and her intestines had something in them that the vet described as Crunchy felt like potato chips or some Cockroaches! She lost 3 kilos over seven days and the vets gave her oils and tests and said they could find nothing, X ray was clear too. After seven days they let me take her home, and said the blockage was not being felt so they assumed she had passed it!!, well she would not eat at home and wopuld vomit all the time, just bile and water. It turns out she had consumed the elastic chicken roll wrapper that encases chicken family roasts, it came out alright at home eight days later, she must have swallowed it whole and kept swallowing, the vets were amazed, may be similar may be not, but in any case a warning to all. J Edit to say just read your update sounds just like mine MINE cost me $1100 vet fees plus the $12 for the roast, making it the most costlky meal I have ever had! J Glad to here all is ok
  13. Some just deserve that!! How are you Raz ? Long time no har? even longer no see!! No FB for a while either!! J Gee that's like...deary me, Wazza.

  16. Still waiting for breed Recognition for me but wont be long now. Nice advert in Dog News too J
  17. One of my Cresteds had a dry eye, the tear duct was not present at all, so it was a cse of drops three times a day to stop the sandpaper blink everytime she blinked! I myself could not guarantee that she could be medicated often enough so I had the eye removed. I would not trust anyone to say they can DROP the eye three times a day and believe that they will do it continously ( work, holiday, boarding commitments etc). This was my case and I would remove the eye in preference to relying on someone to medicate her, just in case they forgot! By the Way she still lives with me at six years old@!!! J
  18. I cant add to the good avice already stated but I do hope Mr Big Fluffy is ok from his ordeal and does not have to sleep with the light on in fear of what may be lurking under the bed covers! Sorry, its not funny, but I imagined it all in my head and I had a really funny a picture. J

  22. Dyzney Sending hugs and strength to you and the family at this time, what a brave and very noble thing you do for the one you love so much, this is the kindest and best gift we can give, we love our dogs more than we love our own desire to keep them here and they in turn love us back for making the right choice. J
