I just have to say I love your Christmas siggie Aimee Tobiecav Cavaliers are wonderful dogs (though I may be a little biased!). Just be sure you are buying from a reputable registered breeder. Unfortunately, due to their popularity, there are many people breeding Cavaliers who are in it for the money with no care about the health of the pups. Cavaliers do have a few inherited problems so it is important to buy carefully.

Have you seen that in Cavs Gretel??? The other thing I thought of was a problem with the diaphram. I had a pup with only the vestiges of the diaphram. The vet repaired it. But he had to be hand reared from about 3 weeks because if he put his head down he could not breath had to bottle feed upright. I gave him to a wonderful family and he died of something else at 9 years. Yes a friend bred a pup years ago who was very small. She seemed okay but when I saw her when she was getting a little more grown up her head looked all wrong and her eye set was strange. I suggested a vet visit and that was the diagnosis. She kept her alive until she started to suffer and then I took her to be put to sleep. It was so very sad I figured it would be easier for me than for my friend though.

Hopefully I'm wrong but hydrocephalous came to mind with her eye set.....

The way I saw it was that she was looking to the shepherd for guidance on what to do. The way she spoke to it was really silly......

I have a desexed black and tan girl whose coat I keep nice and under control with the Coat King. Hard to explain but it really does thin it out and doesn't damage it.

I swear by the Coat King. I bought a Furminator and gave it to my daughter for her cat cause I think the Coat King did a much better job on a Cavalier.

You did well I'll be interested in replies to your question. I'm not a Labrador person but when I looked at the site there is nothing about their dogs lines or health testing. Have you gone into the Lab thread to talk to people? You'll likely get more replies in there.

More importantly... how'd you get it off!! Or is it still on? ;)
