Her diet has changed, her environment has changed.(she only came to me three days ago) Could this be as simple as worms or a change in diet or home? How worried should I be? sandgrubber Posted July 17, 2007 Share Posted July 17, 2007 I run a boarding kennel. Blood in stools is fairly common in the yards I clean up (maybe one in twenty dogs. . . wild guess). I have asked my vet about this and she says that it is not a RED ALERT problem with dogs, and is often insignificant. Of course, it's best to get it checked out. Scales of Justice Posted July 18, 2007 Share Posted July 18, 2007 Could be due to coccidiosis which can stay fairly undetected in the bowel of infected subjects but only become a problem when the dog is under stress (ie. in boarding kennels or changing home).
