I have purchased a small mature dog from a well know breeder, also a toy judge, paid in full on 11/11/09 he arrived 25/11/09,I have exhausted all means to obtain his papers, vet.certificate, challenge certs, all to no avail.Iwas not told until Exmas time,oh, I have lost the papers but will send the other t'morrow. No mail has arrived,no response to emails, phone calls 20 plus, hides behind the a.machine ,mobile is never on,no access to her postal address at that time, until last Sunday week 21/2/10, (so 2 long months not a word, completely ignored all requests to remedy,)when I got to speak to her & ask what, when & why???? I was as always given a lame excuse, always some-one elses' fault.I have them now and will post t'morrow,t'morrow never comes, always prepared to give people the benefit of the doubt & hope and pray that they will deliver.I do not believe her or trust her ever again.Waiting for papers is bad enough but I also have 2 litters of puppies, sired by this dog, this has been a dreadful frustrating time "trying" to deal with this Breeder, she has put me in the impossible situation with these beautiful puppies ,now 5 weeks young,with-out this Pedigree I cannot register them.It is in the hands of Dogsnsw,I had no where else to go,BUT it is such a slow process, this breeder is obviously not afraid of the consequenses of her inaction from the governing body of whom she is a member or she would have taken her resposibility seriously and have done what she should have done 3.5 months ago..I want my life back, this has been hell!A living nightmare actually beyong frustration.Has this happened to you ?What happened, how long did it take, maybe same person??? Heard since one lady waited 7 months, same breeder! What can and must be done to save some-one else the trauma that I've had to live through ??AND how was your day?

I am a member of Q.L.D. CCC.

Just have to ask, as you are a registered breeder, why you didn't think to tell this person that ALL papers MUST accompany the dog? If no papers you don't want the dog. At least you would have known, before you got the dog and used him, that there were no papers.

Hmmm... so you still bred with this dog on the promise of getting his paperwork at some point?

Would it not have been prudent to wait until you had his paperwork before letting him sire a couple (or more) litters?

I did not know at the time that papers are given to the buyer with the dog and then up to the new owner to do the transfer& pay the fee,in QLD the onus is on the breeder, completely the opposite.

That process usually takes CCC here 3 weeks for the transaction to go through. We are given 14 days after sale date to send in transfer.

It was just good or bad timing with my 2 bitches being in season when he arrived, there was no thought that his papers would not arrive in due course,I believe we trust people until we are let down,of course in hindsite it would have been prudent to have waited, never did I expect not to get his papers.Live and learn!

I was assured that all papers would be posted, there are papers but this person does not have the ability to prioritise and be organised,I'm certain this is the problem,do it one day attitude.

It was a bit silly to have two litters with a dog that you don't even have papers for.

If she hasn't given you the papers, doesn't that mean she is still technically the owner of the dog?

See other post re different laws with QLD CCC and Dogsnsw, wiser after the event sure.

Yes,technically.Main excuse is "i"m so busy"aren't we all!

If the breeder was a respected registered breeder & a judge why would the person not trust that the papers would be sent, if that was what was agreed to ?

When new to breeding one trusts people & does not always know exactly what is done re papers & reasonably would trust the person.

Hope you get it all sorted out

If it is in the hands of Dogs NSW then what is the purpose of airing the personal dispute here on DOL?

If this helps and wises up just one person purchasing it was worth my time to post.I would liked to have known about differnt rules re Nswdogs and Q.L.D CCC,if I had i would not have purchased with-out his papers. You are entitled to your opinion re classify this a personal dispute,it isn't, I do not know the woman, have never met her.The other reason I aired it was in the hope that some-one out there could have helped me fast track access through Dogsnsw,I understand they have mountains of stuff to wade though with limited staff and designated meetings only held every second Wednesday of any month,no assurances of when or if it will be heard,I cannot sit back and do nothing if there is some way I can push this forward to be resolved.

There are some very cheap flights at the moment.

You could always hop on one, knock on their door & say Can I have the papers please

May be quicker & easier for you.

Honestly don't know any way of fast tracking except to turn up & ask for them & doubt anyone else would either.

This has been done before to people & is most frustrating.

Guess what the plot thickens, have been told she has left the marital home, last week....true? I don't know. Yeah had thought all of what you suggested, but then decided if she has lost the papers what was the point, even though when i last spoke she said she was posting, really don't know what to believe.Dogsnsw because of privacey matters won't disclose whether papers have even been applied for,be nice to know......something,anything....... was happening!Something positive. Not every-one is like this i was unlucky in striking a slacko. Many lovely breeders i have come to know as friends though my dogs.

All you can do is to write a letter of complaint to Dogs NSW and send that along with a stat dec regarding the date of purchase, how you paid and any receipts you may have. List all of the dogs detais las best you can including pedigree name, DOB and microchip number.

The papers actually belong with the dog and those papers should have been sent straight away.

The breeder must also provide you with vaccination certs and they are also bound by the Companion Animals Act to send you a change of ownership form for the microchip. They only have 14 days from the time the dog changes hands to get that change of ownership form into their local council.

If you want to take it further, send a letter of complaint to the breeders local council, regarding the microchip and the date the dog changed hands.
