We have suicidal ducks here, who fly out of their coop. Walk around the farm (only 2 of the 5) together have a blast and then when the dogs notice them and go to tease them they just waddle/run instead of fly away even though their really good flyers, lucky Julie obviously has a soft mouth and also only got tail as I had to tell her to drop one when I had her out and didnt see the duck in time.

Our Noisy Miners have this habit.

I suspect the dog grabs them when they dive-bomb the cat.

They like drowning in horse troughs, too.

(We have the native ones)

Then there are the Rainbow Lorikeets (and more Noisy Miners) that think they can fly through our windows. If the dog and cat are inside, they usually come to and fly off. Some times the dog and/or cat are outside and I am not here - or I an too slow to get out there and save them.
