A Question About Breeding

I was browsing the DOL Mature dogs section and clicked on a link to a breeder, in their 'about us' page they state that ' we concentrate on having no more than 2 litters per year'.

I thought that it was three litters in two years.

Most bitches come into season around every 6 months so this would mean that their bitch would be mated every season...I am a little confused, so if someone could set me straight I'd appreciate it.

Yes I did think of that Roova but their page wasn't clear on this, they say ' we consider quality is more important than quantity we only breed when we are wanting to produce another star for the ring so we concentrate on having no more than 2 litters per year'

perhaps I am reading it wrongly.

Sometimes they don't show all the female dogs they have on the website. It may only show their titled dogs for example.

yes, that would be the most likely scenario Christina and also that I was reading it incorrectly, it did strike me as odd as from reading their website, they appeared to be an excellent, caring breeder of dogs.

Thanks to everyone who answered :)
