rehoming Jilly

I am so F*cken fed up! There are so many irresponsible and entitled dog owners about the place and so many busy bodies in the community that I am rehoming my darling little dog because I cannot deal with living with Joe Public and owning a dog at the same time. Jilly is an Australian Terrier, 4 years old, happy, healthy, desexed, very well cared for and a great little character. I will miss her sorely, but dealing with complete ar**eholes nearly EVERY day of the week is affecting my health. When she is in her new home I will be able to walk around in my lovely suburb and not care if other people don't have their dogs on leashes, I will be able to duck into the shops without coming back to my car with a gaggle of busy bodies taking down my number plate details and telling me that leaving dogs in a car is illegal. Honestly, it is beyond bad. My heart is going to explode!! You can see photos of Jilly in the photos photos photos section of this forum. PM me if interested.

I wouldn't give in to those morons.  And I know exactly what you mean because they are everywhere!

I think you need your lovely dog and you should keep her.  Could you put a sign on the car with words like" this dog is loved and well cared for. Please mind your own business".  Or something like that.

There are a couple of Aussie Terriers around my way and they are well behaved, lovely dogs.  Your dog is important to you.  Don't let the busy bodies win.

As a fellow Queenslander, until our current winter, all other months have been extremely hot for a couple of years now. It really isn't safe to be leaving your dog in a car up here for even a short period of time anymore. I used to take mine if I was picking up take away but I don't even do that anymore. I do agree about loose dogs being common and I put that down to the rental market being so difficult that some people are in places they may not normally live at with a dog. But I can  never agree with you  on leaving a dog in a car up here in QLD. Not even in winter (I have a very sad tale about that). Sorry, unless you are homeless and living in your vehicle then your dog needs to stay home while you run errands because you can't control exactly how long you will be. The risk  to them is just too great.

Amanda at Westie Rescue Qld? She will do all she can do to help you and Jilly regarding re-homing

There is also this woman who does Aussie terrier rescue  https://dogsqueensland.org.au/clubs/breed-rescue-clubs/

This is not a rescue. Thanks, I am not interested in getting so much help with rehoming that I don't get any say in where she goes.

Yeah, you clearly have no idea. Keep your opinion and sad stories to yourself, they are not relevant to me and my dog.

There are no "loose" dogs in my area, they are all being "walked" by their entitled f*ckhead owners in areas where there is clear signage to keep dogs on leash. Invariably the first words out of these people's mouths are "He is friendly".

Wow. That's how you want to play it? There are people on here very experienced with dogs and rescue but you clearly don't actually want any advice or assistance.

I know someone who runs a great silky terrier rescue group in SEQ and who facilitates rehoming but you wouldn't like what she has to say either. I think it is entirely possible for you to keep your beloved dog if you were willing to listen to some advice. So do you just want to be right or do you really want the best for your dog?

@Little Gifts If you read the last few posts of Adriennes posting history, you will get better context. She has been a respected member here. And I suspect not in the best place to handle responses where she feels her personal situation is irrelevant. Wishing you an out come you are happy with @Adrienne
