  2. @Little Gifts If you read the last few posts of @Adrienne posting history, you will get better context. She has been a respected member here. And I suspect not in the best place to handle responses where she feels her personal situation is irrelevant.
  3. Today
  4. Wow. That's how you want to play it? There are people on here very experienced with dogs and rescue but you clearly don't actually want any advice or assistance. I know someone who runs a great silky terrier rescue group in SEQ and who facilitates rehoming but you wouldn't like what she has to say either. I think it is entirely possible for you to keep your beloved dog if you were willing to listen to some advice. So do you just want to be right or do you really want the best for your dog?
  5. Yesterday
  6. This is not a rescue. Thanks, I am not interested in getting so much help with rehoming that I don't get any say in where she goes. Yeah, you clearly have no idea. Keep your opinion and sad stories to yourself, they are not relevant to me and my dog. There are no "loose" dogs in my area, they are all being "walked" by their entitled f*ckhead owners in areas where there is clear signage to keep dogs on leash. Invariably the first words out of these people's mouths are "He is friendly".
  7. people will NOT believe that their dog is a predator I am glad those dogs won't ever do it again.
  8. As a fellow Queenslander, until our current winter, all other months have been extremely hot for a couple of years now. It really isn't safe to be leaving your dog in a car up here for even a short period of time anymore. I used to take mine if I was picking up take away but I don't even do that anymore. I do agree about loose dogs being common and I put that down to the rental market being so difficult that some people are in places they may not normally live at with a dog. But I can never agree with you on leaving a dog in a car up here in QLD. Not even in winter (I have a very sad tale about that). Sorry, unless you are homeless and living in your vehicle then your dog needs to stay home while you run errands because you can't control exactly how long you will be. The risk to them is just too great.
  9. @Adrienne do you have the contact details for Amanda at Westie Rescue Qld? She will do all she can do to help you and Jilly regarding re-homing There is also this woman who does Aussie terrier rescue https://dogsqueensland.org.au/clubs/breed-rescue-clubs/
  10. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-09-16/dogs-shot-dead-attacking-livestock-wa-owners-urge-law-change/101436138 Then this one. They really don't get it. If you love your fur child keep it home.... They have no idea the destruction done by their dogs. I still have nightmares of the sight of my neighbours sheep, pink from her ears to all four feet walking dazed and deep shock, all her skin torn off, torn flank showing her intestines to the morning light, two of her saanan goat paddock mates, equally in shock, flanks torn open internal organs bulging outwards. Doc was an orthopedic surgeon so had all the necessary antibiotics and surgical gear to stitch the savable back together, but nothing could save the poor ewe. Days later the killers came back, three German shepherds, a neighbour saw them coming and quick phone calls had four other neighbours waiting for them, Doc included. None got away that time. Later learnt over 50 sheep and goats had died the previous 3 months. Chip numbers disclosed they were supposedly locally owned, although had travelled over 2 miles to docs for their fun. Their owners, two belonged to one property, the other next door, "never left home" Somehow not one Doc's neighbours, or the owners of all the other dead believed them. .
  11. I wouldn't give in to those morons. And I know exactly what you mean because they are everywhere! I think you need your lovely dog and you should keep her. Could you put a sign on the car with words like" this dog is loved and well cared for. Please mind your own business". Or something like that. There are a couple of Aussie Terriers around my way and they are well behaved, lovely dogs. Your dog is important to you. Don't let the busy bodies win.
  12. I am so F*cken fed up! There are so many irresponsible and entitled dog owners about the place and so many busy bodies in the community that I am rehoming my darling little dog because I cannot deal with living with Joe Public and owning a dog at the same time. Jilly is an Australian Terrier, 4 years old, happy, healthy, desexed, very well cared for and a great little character. I will miss her sorely, but dealing with complete ar**eholes nearly EVERY day of the week is affecting my health. When she is in her new home I will be able to walk around in my lovely suburb and not care if other people don't have their dogs on leashes, I will be able to duck into the shops without coming back to my car with a gaggle of busy bodies taking down my number plate details and telling me that leaving dogs in a car is illegal. Honestly, it is beyond bad. My heart is going to explode!! You can see photos of Jilly in the photos photos photos section of this forum. PM me if interested.
  13. "400 people applied to adopt Harry". I would like to know how many were suitable homes and if they went on to adopt another dog. Or were they only interested in a famous dog, or a broken dog? It sounds like the right decision was made for him to have a mentor dog.

  16. Found Samoyed in Calamvale, Brisbane. Microchip is from NSW. Liverpool Council in NSW has left a message with the registered owner. Message me with proof of ownership. Safe with me. I've notified vets etc.
  17. Microchip is from NSW. Qld vets can't access the NSW database (maybe because it's a weekend?). Message me with proof of ownership. I won't give microchip number to anyone not a verified vet / vet nurse. Dog safe with me as long as necessary.
  18. Saying it was a terrier show is very poor reporting. You might be imagining a dispute over a stripping knife.
  19. Well, not much detail in that original article , but I would assume it livened up the show ! The poor employee- just doing their job ....glad they were only pushed .
  20. This is a news story from the BBC, about organised crime and “bully” breeders in the UK. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-64346415
  21. The NSW Police News site mentions Raptor Squad was involved. They deal with "serious and organised crime".
  22. It’s probably worth noting that it wasn’t a Dogs NSW club or event. The mention of a banner made me wonder. (My guess is that it was an advertising banner.)
  23. What a fluff article... virtually no information whatsoever except for the fact that the show was on May 3, and he'd been arrested yesterday in relation to it. Would be useful to know why he'd been banned from attending the shows and what his banner said. T.
