  1. Under the breeders suggestion we also brought our last pup home this way - she continued to sit in the front floor well until she was big enough to go in the back of the wagon (then if you want you can use a harness) The advantage to sitting in the floor well is she can see you (and you can see her) if you stop suddenly she won't get thrown too far and if it's hot you can direct the air onto the pup
  2. Ok, so everything's falling into place - lightbulb moment . Last year after her 3mth vaccination she had puppy pyoderma, followed by a hot spot and then at 8mths demodectic mange. She's been clear of any problems over summer until this last vaccination given in March. Since the vaccination she's had severe ear infections (both ears), a hot spot (despite the cooler weather) and started licking her paws She's been on cortisone and AB's all of which are now finished and she's fine again. This last episode of problems took me by surprise as the weather has been cooler - not the hot humid weather that we had over summer when she had no problems. This may all just be a coincidence however we're definately going to look at titre testing and hopefully avoid any more vaccinations.
  3. Ours went more like this:- One GSD = 1 Two GSD = 2 Two GSD + One Goldie = 8 :D All I can say is lucky we've got white tiles!!!
  4. I'm guessing that's the one. As no-one else has come forward to give the downside of this vaccine I would appreciate it if you'd elaborate on what your concerns are Erny.
  5. My 18mth old GSD has recently had the 3 yearly C3 vaccination - I asked my regular vet if he would give this vaccine and I was given a firm "no", and he wouldn't order it in either. When I mentioned that the AVA is now saying yearly is not neccesary my vet told me that the AVA are now changing their stance on vaccines (I didn't know that  ). He also said of the 3 year C3 vaccination - he had asked the drug company to put in writing that they guarantee the vaccine would give full protection for three years and apparently they refused. Anyway I have taken her to another vet and she has now had the three yearly vaccine and I will get her titre tested next year. As far as KC is concerned I have always had my dogs fully vaccinated (C5) and they've still had KC, in fact one nearly died of complications (costing $3000 in specialist fee's). So unless my dogs go to a kennel I won't have them vaccinated for KC
  6. We have our own mechanical repair workshop too (for over 20yrs) and our dogs have all spent time at work over the years. We have three so can't take them all at the same time . Our 9yr old GSD isn't fussed on strangers so spends most of his time at home, but the 18mth old GSD and 5yr old Goldie take turns - there's always a rush when I open the back of the car to see who gets in first! Staff and customers appreciate their company too - especially when they were pups:- Indi our latest addition "resting" beside my desk when she was around 2mths of age (now 18mths),
  7. Sending more healing vibes Gee, these dogs are so well-behaved in this waiting room - it's as if they know Jed needs peace and quiet to help with her recovery. I'm sure Jed's going to appreciate the thought of not only DOLers but DOL fur friends urging her to get better :D
  8. The best thing you could do Scouty is go to a trial and see what's actually involved. Don't be so quick to brush your instructor off either - has he/she trialed before? If so he/she might see some things that need polishing before you step into the ring - maybe you could ask your instructor what you need to work on. You could also ask your instructor if he/she knows of any trials coming up in your area that you could go along to - even offer to steward for your club if they're holding a trial in the near future (always a good way to get a birds-eye-view of what's involved in a trial )
  9. My beautiful baby girl! Yay! Thank you thank you thank you. A shame the Chase one didn't turn out - haha - that eye is quite the cute! lol. ETA definately going to have to schedule some family photo's sometime soon for us and the furkids! Awwwwwww .......... I love that Shepppey face and those big brown eyes If I had to guess, I'd say she's watching her mum (who might be standing behind the photographer?)
  10. But did you notice towards the end she's getting distracted (and I'm ok with that because OH is using the whipper snipper), but not happy with how I finished the session - it's a bit flat Yes, but even I was getting distracted by that whipper snipper in the background just watching the vid. I think she did really well to ignore it like that! I had no idea OH was going to do that
  11. Ness it's essential you trip and land on your butt - Steve won't tell you this, but it's part of the course (I think we've all done it at least once ) @ huski - Both Indi and I struggle in the heat, so not a lot of training done in the middle of the day (we're both looking forward to winter)
  12. Really - looking at your video's Daisy looks soooooo keen!!!! We've had 4 sessions today - two I was happy with and two I was disappointed with (just wish I'd finished her session with more drive). Next time Indi goes flat I'll just have to remember Daisy going "meh" at food
  13. But did you notice towards the end she's getting distracted (and I'm ok with that because OH is using the whipper snipper), but not happy with how I finished the session - it's a bit flat
  14. When you're looking from Indi and my level it's not hard to look great ETA to say we didn't have a very good training session today so we're in need of a little motivation
  15. Just have a look at huski's latest video - it'll make it all worth while - at least that's what I'm hoping
  16. Congratulations on starting TID I had the same reaction from Indi when her toys disappeared that first day. We had the sudden rediscovery of "Ancient Forgotten Toys" being proudly presented to me with eager anticipation - on her part anyway . We live on over an acre so there were plenty of toys to be found!!! Don't forget to give us updates - it's great to keep up with everyone's progress here, because I know my friends and family just don't "get" what Indi and I are doing
  17. Well done Huski and Daisy - unless I've missed something I didn't see any errors!! I'm looking forward to the day Indi can work like that, although I think we've got a long way ahead of us Laeral if you can't find it I will pm you
  18. I suppose it doesn't take much to work out what they're under - lol. I'm glad I'm not the only one with the "crazy lady" video's, luckily for me the early sessions where I kept landing on my butt were never filmed
  19. OMG just watched your latest video and you're doing great . I love the way he's bouncing and he's sitting beautifully. Is that module 2 you're doing, and if so how long ago did you start (you look more advanced than we do )? As far as sounding like a "deranged lunatic", if I could get rid of the sound I would - I don't sound like me (IMO :D )
  20. I am proud, but it's only because I had a LOT of instructions prior to that particular video - otherwise it was NEVER going to happen!!!
  21. I have a couple of clips on Youtube but I'm going red :D just thinking about posting them here - in fact I've taken the worst of my "crazy lady" impersonation's off (I told Steve I was going to enter them in Funniest Home Video's ). I'm happy to send PM of my Youtube channel if anyone wants to see Indi in action @ Steve - "that one" I'm happy to leave there, but you have to admit there's some scary originals that should never be seen again
