I agree - if you're looking for a vet you may as well find a hospital that offers a/hrs service. A lot of the above surgery's aren't available a/hrs (which includes weekends), and you'll end up at one of the hospitals anyway. I use Booval, and they are also available at Pine Mountain and Karalee

I used to say "Do wee's", but with the lastest addition (16mth GSD) I've decided "toilet" is much more civilised when in public

I have 3 sons too , so I can understand where you're coming from (they love dogs :D ). On the other hand, I also have three dogs and if a kid's eyeballing one of my dogs in an obviously aggressive manner I'm not going to invite him over to pat them - sorry my dogs are more important to me than a badly behaved child

I have had dealings with one of the ACO's in the ICC due to a complaint from one of our neighbours regarding our barking dogs. The cause of the barking was due to the neighbours cat and I found the attitude of the ACO was nothing but helpful. There was no power-hungry treatment, in fact I felt he was sympathetic and wanted to help us resolve the situation without upsetting either our neighbours or ourselves. We also deal with another ICC ACO through work and he is a down-to-earth gentleman who certainly doesn't have the attitude you're insinuating NKA.

Angelina, I think Cr Antoniolli is "enjoying" the debate.

Training Dog When Owner Is In Wheelchair.
gsdog2 replied to toofarnorth's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
You've got to get in touch with Jo Morgan - she's in Qld and she's in an electric wheelchair. She trains her dogs as assistance dogs, but she also trials them and she's brilliant. http://www.disability.qld.gov.au/stories/jo-morgan/ I'm not keen to give her number out but if you Google her name you'll find it -
And show me what I'm doing wrong

Cr Antoniolli when is the ICC going to do something about the Parvo problem at the pound. I have been informed by someone who has had very close connections with the pound that Parvo will continue to be a problem until more is done in recognising when a dog has Parvo, and how the situation is handled once Parvo is recognised. How many qualified staff (nurses in particular) do you have employed at the pound - people with formal training who can recognise Parvo symptoms as soon as they see them? I wondered when this thread was started if Parvo would come into it and sadly it has played a large part in this very sad saga.
