    Honey

Berty I have just seen this thread, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. Taken way too soon. RIP Honey
  2. So very sorry to hear of your loss, way too soon. May she be running pain free now.
  3. So very sorry to hear this ZedNQ, taken way too early from you. Thinking of you at this very sad time. That is a beautiful photo you posted of him.
  4. Go Sophie! You keep pulling girl! Great news for Pearl Wolfgirl. Has anyone heard how Zed is? I might not be able to get on much, as I'm about to be doubly busy, but hope all goes well for you all.
  5. Thinking of you all as always. Bluepoppy, glad to hear your girl is home again where she belongs with you. Anne sorry it was not the remission you were hoping for, I see it as a good sign she was pulling, there is obviously much enjoyment in a walk for her still. Special thoughts for ZnQ and Zed, and for Wolfgirl & Pearl too.
  6. As it is World Hug Day today I'm sending out big hugs to all the ill Rotties and their loving owners.
  7. Bluepoppy I'm so very sorry about Keisha, you very definitely did the right thing for her. How lucky she was to have had her life with you. I don't know what else I can say except big hugs to you, Jeff & Diesel. May she rest in peace, I will light a candle for her tonight. Susie xxx
  8. Thanks for all the ideas, sorry we just whelped a litter overnight so have not been able to reply. She is regulating her water intake herself, just taking twice as long to get enough in, but I will check her urine to make sure. We have noticed an improvement the last day, so not sure if the cortisone is helping or just improving herself. She has a little spark back, has started a game with one of the other dogs, and is getting a better appetite. I'm very happy to see her eyes sparky again. Between her and her neice's 12 puppies we are very busy. I have her bowl raised anyhow, but the rubber mats are a good idea. I really appreciate everyone's posts, from people who know me and those who don't. DOL can be a very good place!
  9. No there is no head tilt, I have been looking for one. I've noticed with her drinking its as if her tongue isn't working properly. Thanks everyone, much appreciated.
  10. Thanks H & S, you had posted while I was replying so I missed you, am PMing you. Re physio, how can that be done with a dog?
  11. I will give the next hug to her from you Trace - she is getting lots atm. I had a search on DOL on strokes but couldn't find anything so thought it might be worth asking. Her mobility seems okay, just the desire to do as much is less. When OH does a Bowen on her he does extra moves around the jaw and he says it all feels normal. Even the way she drinks water is different now. Thanks everyone for your thoughts.
  12. I'm posting this topic in the hope that some of you may have some ideas to help our girl Flynn. Last Monday she suffered from what we now know was a mild stroke. She is now much quieter than normal, no longer interested in being the top dog, and has difficulty eating. She seems to only be able to eat from the right side, and has drool from the left side of her mouth. We have changed her food to soft food to make it easier for her and that is helping. The vet has her on cortisone for the next week to see if it helps her, and my OH is a Bowen Therapist so she is receiving regular Bowen treatments. If anyone has any other thoughts on what we can do to help her it would be much appreciated, thanks.
  13. Good to see you posting back here CnR, thats some positive news for you. As always thinking of you all daily.
  14. I've just found this thread and wanted to let all of you with your special loved rotties who are unwell that I am thinking of you all. I'm glad this thread has been setup, as I just don't have the time to check on 30-40 pages of chit chat to find your posts on the rottie thread. Hugs to Sophie, Keisha & Zed and all the other rotts who are going under special care.
  15. I have the Panasonic TZ3 and love it. It's a compact, but has great zoom (10 x I think), is nice and fast, does everything I want. I got it just before we went to Europe, got some great shots over there with it, and takes good dog photos too - what more could I ask for? Plus its small enough to pop in my bag. Here are some samples from my trip, hopefully I have made them small enough:
  16. So very very sorry Grotty to hear of your loss, I only just found this. Thinking of you
  17. Hi BreeLove, I think you meant 2006/2007, not 1996/1997? A very special sweet girl who had the best life with you and was much loved. I don't think there is a good way to lose them, it still feels just as empty when they are gone. Thinking of you. xxx
  18. So sorry to hear Shek, have not been able to visit this section of the forums for the last month, so have just found this. He looked a beautiful boy. xxx
  19. Lots of other good responses here RottnBullies, I'm amazed they wouldn't let you use one, and it probably tells you to keep looking for a better training venue to suit you and your dog. If you dog is DA and wearing a muzzle, you can concentrate on training your dog, and relax knowing there will not be any physical damage; and other people can relax too. This still allows you to train your dog safely, thereby possibly working through the issue and you may get to the point where you may not need one. I wonder how many people they have turned off with this attitude. you would think they would appreciate you being honest and sensible enough to want to do it. Our local club also uses 2nd place ribbons (red) tied through the dogs collar to signal to people to give the dog space, and that works well too. Good luck finding a good place to train.
  20. Thanks Helen! I still can't believe how quickly she got through it. Pretty happy I don't need to go to the Ballarat trial this weekend, I will appreciate a little sleep in and staying warm!!! Will still keep training with her though as she loves it, and start working on who I'm going to track next year. Good luck to you if you're on in Ballarat.
  21. I can't help you with the retrieving side, but I agree with Helen, I'd probably do the tracking first. For a great tracking link go to Tracking Club of Victoria and there is heaps of good info. If you are based in Vic I'd highly recommend joining. They have a weekend workshop around April each year and several workshop days during the year to get people started. You need to book early for the weekend workshop as it books out quickly.
  22. Congrats Weisnjac! That is a great effort doing a track on the same day. I only ever train with them tracking my OH and it doesn't seem to phase them at all when they track an unknown person. We were there yesterday too, in fact I think we were standing right beside each other at the presentations. Our rottie girl Syrah got her Tracking Champion title which she has done with straight passes, we are delighted with her. That is it till next year now, with a different dog. I love tracking season!
  23. Tilly, so very sorry to hear your sad news. May your beautiful boy be at peace and pain free. I don't get in here much, as I get too upset. Hope you are going okay, the poem you posted was beautiful. EFS
  24. Thinking of you PM, may the pain lessen and the memories stay forever.
