  1. Just back from the Vet, after taking Ochre in for her x-ray... She had 2 x-rays and both showed she has 6 little 'buns in the oven' She is day 56 today, and I have been told that Basenjis may/can go closer to day 60 than 63... When should I start to take her temp ???
  2. A bit OT, so apologies to the OP Woofn Hoof, that is VERY interesting about your comment about ACD's developing this disease, a lot... I certainly cnat disagree with you... I have had a young bitch PTS with this horrible disease at about 7 months of age ... Now if only breeders would admit to this disease, so we could start to see if this disease is as prevalent as I, (and I suspect you as well !!!), believe it to be. I tried my hardest to find out if this was an issue with other breeders, and I was met with a cold, stoney silence, leading me to believe the problem is greater than we all believe...
  3. Sooooooooooooooooooo very happy for you, Hounder We will have to crack open the bubbly to celebrate... Are you doing the 2 shows in July ??? We need to celebrate this VERY exciting, and VERY deserved win
  4. Congratulation to Helen and David, of course also the gorgeous Sunny, for winning BIS at this show today Not bad for a short coated breed in the middle of winter, against all the lovely Spitz 'fluffies' ...
  5. What chubby bubbies they are Are they big weights ??? Mum has done a fabulous job feeding them, both in-utero, and since they have been born... Good job Bree
  6. Congrats to all the new bubba's born Lets hope all these June babies, produce at least one BIS winner in each and every litter Super congrats to Hesa, for getting her 2 bi-blacks, you must be incredibly excited :p
  7. Good luck Hesa... Hope all goes well with Bree
  8. HUGE welcome back JED You have really made my day, seeing your post Hugs and more hugs to you, (oh very gentle ones of course )
  9. Getting a bit excited now, but mixed in with absolute fear too ... Ochre is 6 1/2 weeks now, and in the last week she has really popped out. She is starting to look a bit miserable too, poor darling ... She eating like a horse, so unlike her :-) Mr R went off this am to buy everything for the whelping box, and now at 6 pm, its nearly made, and he has done a fabulous job. Shame Ochre doesnt want to have a thing to do with it, yet
  10. Yep I do feed puppy food to my girls as soon as they are mated, until the pups are weaned ... Old habits die hard
  11. Was just about to post the same thing... Great minds think alike
  12. Congrats Cavalblaze, first 'cab off the rank' for June, so double congrats .
  13. Hey lady... You get MY lead off there, someone just might want to buy it
  14. If its the same one you sent me, I agree with Hounder, cept we need a few more of these
  15. Yep the scales were to blame . Not sure about this keeping them still enough for the digits to settle. Im not sure my guys are still even for a nanosecond at the Vets .To be honest I havent a clue what weight she is normally :D . Dont think I have ever weighed her... I thought U/S day would never come :p ... I had an appt for 9.30, then when I got there, the Vets had it down for next Monday instead... So I had to go away and come back at 12.40, and I have NEVER had time move sooooooooo slowly, I can tell you :D ... I guess that Mimi's owners are having the same feelings. Its so exciting !!! Blade is a handsome man, so it should be a nice mating... When are yours due ??? I swear every Aussie breeder is having a litter, or 2, this year... It wll be a very compettive Specialty Baby class, in October, wont it :p ???
  16. Hounder once again a HUGE congrats for Bree's Grand, she sooo deserves it . Also for the RUIG too. Shame we all didnt know you had the champers, I know I would have come over to sip to her grand . Not that Im known for enjoying a tipple
  17. Hey there! Huge congrats on Bree's lovely win - what a nice way to finish a Grand title! So sorry I didn't get to catch up with you in person, will have to come back for the Royal at some point and we'll make sure to have that champers then! Attached is the pic I took of Grand Champion Bree and Mr Shopaholic himself, AustinPowers and the lovely Miss Maggie, hope you like it and I'll make sure you get the original... That is a lovely pic PD888... Shame we dont all get to see the cheeky face of the shopaholic though
  18. Thats the bestest laugh Ive had in a long while . It will tak a while for you to live this one down
  19. Well speaking of weight gain... We got to the Vet this am and weighed Ochre and she was 9.8kgs, then when we went back a couple of hours later she was 10.1kgs  . Same scales, no food or water had been had, so I have NO idea what happened there Chocolate do you have any ideas, is this normal, (well as normal as you can get with a Basenji ) ??? Maxbox, thanks, very happy ...
  20. Thanks Hesa... The Vet said she could feel 3 'blobs', and the U/S showed 2-3 'blobs', so Im happy with that, although another 1 or 2 would be gratefully accepted . I think we can all support each other during the middle of the night, ummmm for those of us that are night owls at least
  21. Thank you ladies, its all very exciting, except now Im s**t scared Its been such a long time between drinks for us... Are you two happy to be on call for me in the middle of the night, cos guess who's doing night duty when she is due ... Thank you Mr Rajacadoo-Doo-Doo... Going off later to look at Sway's site, methinks I need a bit of retail therapy
  22. OT sowwy... Ellz, cos I cant text you, cos of you living in the sticks, (even more so than the average Taswegian ), go up and have a look-see in the June thread in Breeders
