  1. I have a generic spare battery for my 400D, and it does work just as well as the canon ones! They last for ages regardless, I take heaps of photos
  2. Sooooo jealous!!! My uncle owns the 350Z, all I can say is, hang on when you get in the car with him!! :D Especially around round abouts!!
  3. Awesome shots Rainey. I want to get further into photography, got the good camera, now need to learn how to use it. It's good to see what lens suit what purpose, as I'd like to add to my collection when I have the $$ So jealous of you getting a ride in the ferrari. Sportiest car I've had a ride in is a Nissan 350Z.
  4. Rainey - what lens do you have and what different situations do you use them for? I only have the two kit lens that came with the 400D
  5. Is this the sort of effect you are looking for? This was two levels of blurring, you can keep going until its undefinable mush if you want I did it in Photoshop CS using the blur tool, very easy, just selected the blur tool and brushed it over the background avoiding the dog. ETA - only problem is to buy Photoshop CS3 it costs nearly as much as my camera did, so you'd be better putting the $$ on a Digital SLR
  6. M&M - Still cant see it, try using the insert image button instead and pasting the url link you copied from the properties box into the pop up window and clicking ok. Then apply the changes
  7. Are you after a digital compact camera or a digital SLR camera? I love my Canon 400D DSLR. I love that I can put it on auto and get great shots, yet there is heaps of manual functions to play with. But it takes Compact Flash cards (they are cheap though) Here's a pic I took on auto This is a pic I took on manual, at night, on the very first day of getting the camera with no idea of what I was doing If it's a digital compact camera you are after, I have heard good things about the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50 which is a 10.1 MP, 12 Optical Zoom. It takes SD cards http://panasonic.com.au/products/specifica...m?objectID=3304
  8. My camera does it for me on auto mode. I find the closer you are (or are zoomed) and focused on the object, the blurrier the background gets. Here's a couple of mine
  9. I think the current model equivalent is the MP810, which you can get for $307. Ink isn't cheap, but you can get them refilled which is what I do, costs me $8 per ink cartridge. There are 5 ink cartridges. I have the MP760 which I think is great, its a couple of versions behind now as I've had it a couple of years. Does a really good job on the photos.

  19. You are welcome to play with any of my pictures of my two girls Lilly & Kayla.
  20. I've always been curious about this subject, especially from reading about it on american forums, but I wanted to understand how Australia runs things if you know what I mean? Is someone able to explain to me what the difference is between Schutzhund and IPO dogsport? Or point me in the direction of a good website to read which will explain things? I get the impression its not something that is suited to all dogs, what sort of qualities should a dog possess to be suitable for this work? What sort of effect would this sort of sport have on a dogs temperament? Is neutralisation important from puppyhood? It sounds like the handlers and dogs can have a lot of fun doing it. ETA - i'm not thinking about this for my girls by the way, just curious.
