  1. Just tell them that the wishful thinking has gone flat. :)
  2. Check this out! http://www.thinkgeek.com/homeoffice/pets/cf8b/ From the site: Be the Dog Clickerer So there's that guy on TV that supposedly whispers to dogs and makes them go from rabid destroyers of couches and kittens to calm, submissive Wunderhunde. Yeah, it's just like that nanny show with the screaming children (aka Free Birth Control) except it's with dogs. But that guy named after a tasty salad, he's got years of experience and training and he costs a pretty penny to hire, even if it's only to teach your dog to stop eating your Xbox remotes. Insert alternative description here Insert alternative description here Thank goodness you can have the Control-A-Dog Remote! Now anyone can have the power of Total Dog Domination in their hand. That's right! You want Fido to Sit, Stay, Speak, Drop It? Just point the remote at your dog, press the appropriate button, and hope for the best. It's powered by wishful thinking, so if your brain waves aren't very strong yet, you may have some issues initially. Don't worry, keep mashing the button and hoping and one day your dog will stop peeing in the living room. Just a warning, it may be the day after your dog dies. But it may be IMMEDIATELY! You never know until you try. Point at subject, press button, hope for the best 21-button novelty remote control No batteries required - powered by wishful thinking Dimensions: 5.5" x 2.2" (14 x 5.5 cm) And the Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3s9jGashn4...player_embedded
  3. Neither Lure coursing or racing are recognised anywhere in Australia. Yes fun days are run but as has been said you cannot gain a title of any description. Having said that Qld Lure Coursing Assoc do offer titles but they are not recognised outside of Queensland. Why isn't it recognised? No idea, both coursing and racing are recognised by FCI, AKC and The KC. I wonder if maybe it isn't warm and fuzzy enough - gives the wrong image of dogs - too close to hunting?????
  4. People need to remember that not all states have the same laws regarding certain aspects & some states . WA does not do lure coursing/earthdog.We are not the only state. COE for any org has to keep in mind that one rule doesn't fit every state. As an example for health testing i had to fly my dog east to be tested for one of the issues in the breed because like other states we don't have all the bells & whistles like NSW/VIC. That 1 test meant $300 just to fly the dog plus my airfare Lure coursing is not a recognised ANKC activity so states that do run events are doing so outside the ANKC.
  5. I used google to search rather than the DOL search.
  6. Here is a pdf I found a while ago - interesting reading. healthEffectsOfSpayNeuterInDogs.pdf
  7. could be this one. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=113177
  8. So if he has his Bullmastiff puppy when are you getting your Affie?
  9. So what happens when you are up against one of these dogs in "in Group" or even in "in Show"? Just because it doesn't affect your breed doesn't mean that it won't have an impact on your show result.
  10. I've been repeatedly told my adolescent afghan is a labradoodle! They have one just like it. "Oh aren't Afghans born with a long coat?". Said with a totally straight face. I can't wait to here what people say about Zac, my new Wolfhound puppy.
  11. Yeah that would be a good one.
  12. to all the Showies! :D May your leads stay strong, your shoes not slip, your gazebos not blow away and all your wins be great!

  15. You Lowenhart Lady of the Ghans. I know Picasso had one, but that's as far as I can get without Google. One of the Marx bros, but I can't recall which one. I always thought that was appropriate, as most Affies I have met have been clowns Can anyone tell us which one for bonus points? Curly Bzzzt and as an additional clue it wasn't Groucho.

  17. You Lowenhart Lady of the Ghans. I know Picasso had one, but that's as far as I can get without Google. Queen Victoria seems to have had one of at least everything so Queen Victoria!! That's an Affie pup isn't it :cheer:  Nope!
  18. You Lowenhart Lady of the Ghans. I know Picasso had one, but that's as far as I can get without Google. Yup Picasso is one of them.
  19. OK to add a bit of class. Name three famous people to be owned by Afghan Hounds?
  20. So it's the hound ring where this self-important carrying on is happening? Great, nice work on welcoming the newbies folks. Note to self - give SA shows a BIG miss. Hell no! I reckon the CSM should organise a road trip.
  21. Yup 4 entries - 2 for each day and 2 catalogues - 1 for each show/day. Can't answer the camping question as I don't do camping.
  22. Couldn't agree more. Was an excellently run show. I also like to add my thanks to the people of Grong Grong who contributed so much to the show. :D  :whee:
  23. If they do, I don't expect a refund. The club can use the money towards next year's shows. Problem is they would have spent a fair bit on sashes etc. Prizes can be reused. So can sashes. Not if they have a date or the judges name on them!
  24. When you get there check out these two topics. Lots of great info in them for newbie showies. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=163330 FAQ for newbies http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=171748 Hitting the Ring for the first time.
  25. It may be your image, but it is the skill of the photographer which is being sold....not you or your dog. snap ellz i just said the same thing :D So they get paid for pushing a button on a camera and I don't get paid for them using my image? By your logic I guess models don't get paid as it is what the photographer does that is important?
